Very murky, i think that the buyer has 'rights' but would need to sue to get their money back or compensation, and i'm not entirely sure how long the period lasts for.

thanks swanny, just googled it too, it appears the buyer only has rights under specific circumstances, ie, a false description etc.

Frankly, 'sold as seen' will not cover you even if you are not deliberately misleading someone as to the condition of the vehicle, but even if you have made a genuine mistake.

Even a mistaken belief that the vehicle is in a good condition when it is not can lead to a purchaser being able to rescind the contract and get their money back.

What was wrong with the dodgy jam jar you managed to offload to a gullible sap? For your information, I have a Primera which I want to get rid of. I have to park it round the corner as it gobs oil on to the ground and I don't want it to ruin the drive. Ever since the brake compressor failed and I got stiffed for 4 injectors (£75 each + vat) as 'good practice' I will not go near a dealer again. But no private garage will try and fix the leak for less than £400 as the whole engine needs opening.

I know this is not the motoring forum, but I will describe it as '03 Primera with 100K, good fuel consumption' and be perfectly legal.

Any offers?

Also, I don't know anything about cars really.

Mike what you have to look at is,,,,Are these moshes bigger than you? and will they be back after dark,;)

Mike lives in Southampton mack, we do not have scum like that around here.

Once you step off your island, you will realise that it is quite a nice world that WE live in. Don't worry mate, we do understand why you might think otherwise though, but it's not your fault, it really isn't.

I sold my Skoda Fabia a year ago, a week later the chap who purchased it came back to me complaining that the gear box had gone. He wanted his money back. I contacted citizens advice bureau who said as I had put sold as seen I was in a much better position, and all he could do would be to take me to court. I told him this - he told me to f*ck off and said he would come round my house every day until he got his money back. I told him I would put the kettle on. He turned up 3 days on the trot and had a rather heated chat (over a cup of tea.) Unfortunately he was a 6'3, rambo esqe guy who was a bouncer for a club in Soho. I said as he was a nice, genuine guy, I would give him £250 if he would sign a declaration to never contact me again and f*ck off. He did and I've never heard from him since.

Was quite funny as when he arrived on one occasion and put his motorbike helmet down next to my 10 year old sister bright pink, flashy cycling helmet. As he went to pick up his helmet I said 'make sure you pick up the right one.' He didn't find it very funny though. I lol'd.
