Yellows, the road leading into Cardiff is something I will never forget, coaches, cars, limos, minibuses, motorbikes and open top buses packed with Saints fans, young, old, male and female.

Great memories perhaps the JP final might come close! ;-)

It was a fantastic day, the wall of yellow and the noise or our chanting in the stadium will live with me and my 7 year old son (at the time) for ever. My son still has his FA Cup Final 2003 flag on his bedroom wall.

It was at this time that Saints had a 1/2 hour Sky TV programme, soon after we had a brief UEFA cup forray and got to 4th in the Premiership in Dec 2003. At the time I remember looking at the table with saints in 4th and thinking remember this moment its won't get any better than this, soon after this Strachen left and .........

A brilliant day despite us losing, and we put the Arsenal fans to shame.I remember us when we all came out of the Stadium,we were still smiling and singing our songs while the Arsenal fans walked away without hardly a murmur. We certainly showed them how you support your football team, let's hope we get the chance to do that again in the future ?

We didn't reaslie it, but I think we were already on the decline. I am sure that the drubbing given to us a few weeks before by the Arse knocked the stuffing out of us and was a reality check for WGS.

We needed major re-investment and we di not get it in the Autmn and so WGS was left.

We then showed our ambition by appointing a L1 manager over a successful england manager.

With the help of some fans we have achieved part of the equation, now we just need to get back Luggy !

Funny that great day led to the worst 6 years in my 49 years of support
I dunno, the first 6 months of those 6 years were pretty good. Uefa Cup games, beating United, getting Hoddle sacked, beating the Skates twice, being 4th in the Premiership on Xmas Day.

Then it all went downhill.

We then showed our ambition by appointing a L1 manager over a successful england manager.

With the help of some fans we have achieved part of the equation,

Do you say anything else?

Still -

I don't think the JPT final would be close to the FA Cup final but it would be ace if we got there (and won) ;)

Also, playoff final at Wembley perhaps? I'm certain St. Mary's will see the good old days again, one day.

I haven't really got great memories from the cup final. Think it was a bit of an anti-climax due to the team freezing/not going for it. yeh, sure, the support was excellent, but then I would expect that for a cup final. Am sure Millwall fans thought their support was excellent 12 months later. Much preferred the semi final and even the quarter final at home to Wolves which saw SMS arguably at its best

Mind you, compared to the living hell that has been the following 6 years, the cup final does start to seem a slightly better day.

QF at home to Wolves was awesome. Will it ever rock like that again?

YES winning promotion , for those who have never seen it, is equal to a cup quarter final

How the mighty have fallen. :(

What a great day that was, despite the result, that was the first game my son (6 years old at the time) had seen us loose. We didn’t quite have enough matches under our belts to ‘earn’ the right to purchase tickets, so had to go through an agency and bought 2 tickets for £375 each. Our tickets were originally meant for the London FA, hence we were sat in the front row surrounded by Arse fans, Saints end though, on the wings. At the final whistle my lad burst into tears, and the big bloke next to him (Arse fan) put his arm around him and said something like ‘maybe next year’, which was a lovely gesture considering he had a Saints flag in his face for most of the game. :D

Incidentally that entire day cost me near on £1000, I still haven’t told Mrs Geezer. I’m glad we went though as I think it will be a long time ‘till were back there.

JUst remember we were in a small B+B in teh night before in Bridgend - teh bar was full of Saints fans in their shirst having a stonking time. The only Arsenal fans were a table of corporate freebies in suits having dinner - naturally we took the ****.!
