Verbal Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 Employ KK only on the condition we employ McMenemy and Pearson as his managerial team. It would be good to lay to rest 3 myths at the same time. The myth that any of them are capable of repeating their previous success at this club and I use the term success with regard to Pearson in the loosest possible terms. How about Richard Wright for manager? He kept us up last year in very fortunate circumstances for big Nige. Pity really we could have been celebrating our recent promotion from Division 1, thanks Richard you have a lot to answer for. Just curious, Reg - what will it take to make you question your certainty that Pearson is such a poor manager? I agree it's not proven, although the case for the defence is looking a lot stronger. But you elevate it to a 'myth'. Why? Does logic not apply in your parallel universe? Tell you what. Let's agree now. How about a top-six finish next season with Leicester, and you agree to eat humble pie? Sounds fair to me. One thing I will happily agree with. I'm pretty sure Pearson would have struggled had he stayed at the club this season. But that's because Lowe and Wilde are to safe stewardship of football clubs as Little and Large are to cutting-edge comedy. Pearson did indeed get lucky - but not in the way you think. What exactly is the "myth" about McMenemy? Perhaps in the strange world in which you live LM never won thr 1 bit of silverware in this club's history. But I am pleased to say that he did in mine. Perhaps in your strange world, he never guided us to runners up in the league - but he did in the real world. Whay exactly do you have against Lawrie?? Were you a Man U fan in 1976?? It takes all sorts .... but fortunately there is only one like you!!.

skintsaint Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 KK would command a hefty wage so if he was appointed no doubt he would be promised a bit of money to spend. After his history at Fulham & Man City in the lower leagues I would love him to be here if he did have cash to spend. due to the above requiring a large sum of money to carry out I think its a no goer anyway as I dont think we are going to have it. In May 1976 at an impressionable age of 7 I was a Leeds United fan because 80% of my classmates were Leeds fans. They were then what Chelsea are today to most primary school kids and most like me succumb to peer pressure and the need to belong. 1976 changed all that for me with the help of a very passionate relative who these days you would politely class as a real old school Saints fan and despite our differing views I really enjoying visiting him in his now largely housebound existence and chatting all things Saints. Forget the humble pie if Leicester finish top 6 I will pay to go to a Little and Large show or worse a Mike Osman show if there are any venues small enough. I'll post you the programme or pamphlet (depending which 'show' I attend) to prove it. All we need to agree now is your 'punishment' for your false praise of Pearson's ability. If you like we can have a spread, 7th to 12th where we both avoid 'punishment' so what will you do if Leicester finish outside the top half of the table? Trust me, even the thought of you being even half-right is punishment enough. The very idea goes against nature - a bit like a snake with legs. I like the 'false praise' nonsense, by the way. Quite funny. Back on topic, has Keegan EVER managed successfully (or unsuccessfully) without huge bundles of cash at his disposal? I seem to remember that his rescue act at Fulham in the old Second Division happened after Fayed took over. Best kept miles away - unless the newly rumoured 'overseas' owner is the Caliph of Harrods. I see 19C. You were a Leeds fan when you were 7. Was this at the same time as you were a Charlton fan??? After all you told us that: "I have always followed Charlton as I lived in Blackheath for many years and went to a few games" http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=193986#post193986 it was post 52 on that thread. Were you telling porkies then when you said that you were a Charlton fan?? Or are you telling porkies now when you say that you were a Leeds fan?? I suggest that you are telling porkies when you come on here and claim that you are a Southampton fan. When I was 7 my mother told me not to tell porkies - people who do need a good memory to remember all the stories that they tell. Clearly you do not have a good memory. Sheesh, it's not impossible to be supporting multiple clubs in a plastic-kinda way as a little kid with all your mates trying to get you to change every time your or their team wins or loses, especially if you're living somewhere there's no obvious "big" team to support. Its called a back up plan Tame. I followed Charlton for a while whilst I lived in the area so what? I was still a Saints fan first and foremost but it was easier at the time to get my football fix locally. Get yourself along to a Saints in the community bash and find out how many 7 year olds who support the Saints turn up in Chelsea tops. Its called growing up and Um and yourself will find out what that's like one day. It's irrelevent now but have you ever tried to debate one of my views without trying to guess my identity or revert to insults that surely your mother told you to avoid? Still, I expect you're right.
