VectisSaint Posted 17 May, 2009 Posted 17 May, 2009 I wouldn't wish what is happening to us on anyone, not even the Skates (well maybe I would wish it on Bell End). Strange thing is that ever since our problems really came out in the open and there was a hint that we may fold altogether I have heard nothing but support from people who are Skates around here, inclsuing several I never knew were Skates before. As I've always said, although they are rivals I would still be very happy if Pompey came 3rd in the Prem just as long as we were 1st and Torquay 2nd - now there is optimism for ya.
EFM Posted 17 May, 2009 Posted 17 May, 2009 Would you like to reconsider that statement? No offence to our friendly skate contributors (ok, a bit of offence then) but there was a millionth of a second where I had to consider this, quickly realised that I wish them the worst possible and then saw a picture of that twxt who is an embarrasment to any club and I wanted your whole club and its ****ty ground, shirt and fans to die in hell. I know it's not exactly in the spirit of mutual hands across the water and for that I apologise but rivalry is rivalry.
Rocker268 Posted 17 May, 2009 Posted 17 May, 2009 So if your debts are about £30m that makes ours about £300m. Should i worry? Of course someone would buy us if we went into administration we don't have a mortgage. Perfectly possible for someone to make money out of development or simply milking us in a lower division. saints problem is that they have already been developed so that's not an option and come with a huge mortgage in terms of milking the fans in a lower league. We are therefore far less of a risk Our debts aren't 30mil though they are about 8/9mil, so 10% was being generous. Last I heard Pompey's debts were about 100mil, but this may have been exagerated. As for the mortgage its not that bad. You have to admit, if you had the option by a club for 9 mil with a good ground training facilities and a top youth academy, or pay around 60mil (as Pompey's owner is accepting a 30mil loss, plus the bank accepting they wont see some of their money) and still have the developing to do which would you choose? I wouldn't want Pompey to fold as a lot of my best friends are pompey fans so its great when either side is doing better for the banter, but it was best when we were the same level. But I do miss Saints being top =p
Alain Perrin Posted 17 May, 2009 Posted 17 May, 2009 Would you like to reconsider that statement? Hand on his waist, pained expression on his face, guy behind concentrating. Does anyone else think he's being bummed?
Mole Posted 17 May, 2009 Posted 17 May, 2009 I'd post the other pic of westwood licking some sluts nipple, but i'm not sure the mods would would have enough of a sense of humour not to throw a hissy fit.
Chorlton Posted 17 May, 2009 Posted 17 May, 2009 If Pompey are not taken over this summer, I think they will be on the slippery slope, and may even slide down it faster than we have. However, I think Premiership survival has probably rubber stamped them being taken over. Again.
lee_saint Posted 17 May, 2009 Posted 17 May, 2009 I was speaking to some Pompey fans about us not so long ago, they were banging on how we gave them so much grief when they were in the same position, I can't remember doing so? If they go under, so be it, to be honest I won't comment on it, which will annoy them even more!
Stirchleysaint Posted 17 May, 2009 Posted 17 May, 2009 Who gives a monkey's? I'm more concerned about Saints playing next season.
