redarmy1976 Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 ive spent all afternoon watching this site for news......... now im going home so somethings bound to happen!
dubai_phil Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Ah, so that's interesting, after all the waiting with it now being 30 minutes to going home from work time THE Friday appears to have followed my carefully researched process by actually now forgetting to be Friday. In this case according to calculations, the addition of the Duckworth-Fry48hours-Lewis ruling Monday must be a strong candidate to become the new Friday Oh so now looks like a great 2 days of "Lost" weekend for you lot, at least my Friday today was really Sunday and it's only one day of weekend left to wait down here respectfully IMHO I think
kpturner Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 (edited) What relationship are you to OTH? Friend, relative or workcollegue.I just wonder if a kangol may head in your direction as you seem to target himKango, not kangol (I think the latter is a coat - and it will be too small for him). Friend, business associate, life coach and mentor. I also have to sit next to him at St Marys and identify all the players for him (opposition and ours). Tried teaching him some DIY skills to no avail - and I still haven't stopped him from saying "to be fair" at the start of every sentence.....and finally, if he ever comes to you with a sound money making scheme - run away. He cost us £7k last year - on that note, does anyone want a water colour of Kevin Pietersen and Shane Warne, signed by the artist and KP? We have quite a few spare. Edited 15 May, 2009 by kpturner typos!

Griffo Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 What about that Save Our Saints bid, from Derry or something? The fans consortium? Surely that's better than nothing..?
Pancake Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 What about that Save Our Saints bid, from Derry or something? The fans consortium? Surely that's better than nothing..? Only worth 91 grand http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/saveoursaints/ Not even going to pay for 1 games worth of salaries.
Eastcowzer Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 They don't even have a manager at the moment. Recommended by Jan, no doubt, while applying for the mangers position
Griffo Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Only worth 91 grand http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/saveoursaints/ Not even going to pay for 1 games worth of salaries. Oh right. I thought there was something more advanced than that, called Save Our Saints also. I seem to remember people saying in last case scenario that we can fall back on the fans consortium bid.. I presume I am wrong.
kpturner Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 oops.! should have read 'manager', not 'manger'Try the "Edit" button ;-)
GAZZA747 Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 UPDATED ECHO WEBSITE http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4370956.Ultimatum_issued_to_potential_Saints_buyers/
Rogerfryisalegend Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 you smell like carrot juiceThat really made me laugh, but i have no idea why.
Frank's cousin Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 What about that Save Our Saints bid, from Derry or something? The fans consortium? Surely that's better than nothing..? Seems it received the ususal negative neighsaying response from fans on here....
kpturner Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 UPDATED ECHO WEBSITE http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4370956.Ultimatum_issued_to_potential_Saints_buyers/Just a little bit of badly written text at the end as far as I can see trying to explain the Stock Market announcement.
Mole Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Things are coing to a head. The waiting game will be over by this time next week, I hope...
Fowllyd Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Seems it received the ususal negative neighsaying response from fans on here.... Do they have special keyboards for use with hooves?
treggs23 Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Things are coing to a head. The waiting game will be over by this time next week, I hope... this time next week??? you cannot be serious...
kpturner Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Things are coing to a head. The waiting game will be over by this time next week, I hope...Amazing foresight - thanks (sorry - can't help myself when an opportunity for sarcasm surfaces).
Mole Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Seems it received the ususal negative neighsaying response from fans on here.... It was given a negative response because it was a daft idea that was never going to work.
kpturner Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Seems it received the ususal negative neighsaying response from fans on here....I have never knowingly neighed in my life.
Third Division South Days Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 If a deal is not yet done with MLTs Pinnacle Group surely, as threatened, MF is about to axe them from the talks?
RobM Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 I have never knowingly neighed in my life. You haven't lived.
Rem Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 this time next week??? you cannot be serious... Looks like the 4pm press conference didn't happen. It's 1am Saturday my time, the couple of scotches I've had while following this thread have kicked in and I'm going to bed. Will I have a football team to support when I wake up in the morning? Night all.
CB Fry Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Seems it received the ususal negative neighsaying response from fans on here.... It was given a negative response because it was a daft idea that was never going to work. What he said. Sorry Frank, All the neighsaying was deserved because it was never going to work.
Frank's cousin Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 It was given a negative response because it was a daft idea that was never going to work. Never said it would work, but there was no need for the rather agreesive negativity towards Deryy and his colleagues at teh time... just trying to do something and the NAYSAYING (;-)) was OTT IMHO.
RobM Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 So to summarise.... yet again, bugger all has happened. Those ITK are not ITK. Nothing has changed.
Frank's cousin Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 So to summarise.... yet again, bugger all has happened. Those ITK are not ITK. Nothing has changed. Appears to be the case - bit of a panic earlier with the stock exchange announcement - until that was quickly cleared up - Mr Fry, has told Pinnacle to put up or shut up (according to the echo) and there was panic when a rumour flew around that no one was left in and only 1 bid for SMS was left... mostgot suckering by on of these but overall, i guess the truth in any of teh above will be if we hear anything this evening about Pinnacle being in or out?
The9 Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 My girlfriend told me last week, that it was reported in the evening standard that an Arsenal fan had killed himself just because they got knocked out of the Champions League. Surely, if they had had to go through what Saints fans have been through in the last five years, there'd be no Arsenal fans left. They looked pretty bloody miserable winning the FA Cup in 2003, come to think of it.
EFM Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Oh Master Bates! That's 2 days running you have put your neck on the line and whilst I admire your bravery you deserve to be "virtually" beaten up now via this forum. Luckily I didn't believe you today anyway - although I'm sure you didn't start the thread maliciously. Prepare for cyber attack or infractions matey! You're surely not another skate on the wind up are you?
derry Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 It would only have worked as a last resort before winding up. As it needed time to carry out, IMO at the time it was possible but Fry has run us out of time. Unless he sells it, that's it I'm afraid. At least I can play golf every saturday. It's a bit like a bereavement or a divorce, one gets over it in time.
Gingeletiss Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 'Tis true... Watch out...Norwaysaint may pick you up for your English;)

If there had been no bids I'm sure it would have gathered a lot more momentum. What can you (or I) say we did to organise a last ditch bid if the worst were to come to the worst? I think credit has to go to derry for being so proactive.

Credit for ****ing in the wind is not something i'd be congratulatory on.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Well I've been watching and waiting all day - trying to get some work done at the same time. I feel its all over - Fry has failed for the club it would seem and this Friday will go down as Saints Black Friday 15th May 2009. RIP Saints FC. :smt087 :smt009 :smt090 :smt089 :smt078
Clapham Saint Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Credit for ****ing in the wind is not something i'd be congratulatory on. It only turned out to be a non-runner becuase (fingers crossed) a deal is now there to be done with one of two parties. Had there been no bids at all then there is an outside chance that it would have gathered enough momentum. More likely (should it have been needed) it could have been used to top up funds for a bidder that would otherwise have fallen short of having enough funds. IMO take p would have been significantly higher had we all thought that it was the only way of saving the club. Again, at least he did something.
stevegrant Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Wouldn't be so sure - assuming there is likely to be some sort of announcement today, it's not all that surprising that it's been left right to the last possible moment. I just hope that any news is positive...

I just hope that any news is positive... MF said they had til end of day! does that mean 5pm or are these professional people who might do a bit of overtime?
Made in Southampton Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Would someone please tell me WTF is going on?

Clapham Saint Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 MF said they had til end of day! does that mean 5pm or are these professional people who might do a bit of overtime? If it gets to 5 and they are close I expect that they will carry on until what ever time is necessary. If it is clearly going to not be resolved in a few hours but agreement looks likely they'll pick it up tomorrow (deadlines can always be slightly flexible if a deal is close).
OldNick Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Im sorry I posted up the message I was sent regarding 'be ready' etc Istill believe that something is happening but it has all gone quiet. I have tried to get mesages through but no reply. O f course there could be good reason for that. Im off home in 10 minutes and so will be away from the computer. If I hear anything else I will do my best to get it up on here.Although I doubt any news will be slow in coming out with all the people on here trying to access any snippets.
Clapham Saint Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 Would someone please tell me WTF is going on? Nobody has a clue. HTH
Micky Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 MF said they had til end of day! does that mean 5pm or are these professional people who might do a bit of overtime? Pretty sure that we can't actually afford to pay overtime anymore - 2 minutes to sort this mess out then...!
maxi_sopez Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 I just signed onto the forum, like many others i cba to read through all these pages, could someone just do a short review of whats been said today or whats happened. Thanks i think this would help me and others!
derry Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 How can you say it ever had any chance of working. £91K is peanuts and comes nowhere close to even scratching the surface. Selective memory, there was about £900k on here in the first place and as I said ONLY in the event of imminent liquidation. That would be the only circumstance along with this being the only initiative that it could happen. In any event like so many things events have overtaken us, but your way obviously worked as it saved more of your time doing nothing.
dubai_phil Posted 15 May, 2009 Posted 15 May, 2009 D-Day The movie The Longest Day Pretty damned apprpriate really
