Is that a day rate or an hourly rate (bet it's the latter)?

Posted
Of course its hourly, who would work for that daily !!

Well, that's why I said 'I bet it's the latter'. But, being an auditor who has to have everything exact (and who, incidentally, charges nothing like that per hour :D), I just wanted clarification.

Pop in and ask them their local charges! I wondered past their offices recently (which must be relatively new as I'd never noticed them before) and the thought did occur to me with Mr Fry being in charge of our football club.

They're right next to those proficient bankers -The Bank of Scotland (the road adjacent to High Street (below Bargate) in Southampton. Hamtun Street/Castle Way.

And what exactly do you 'audit' then BTF eh?

The most I've seen earned in my profession is £500 a day!

My work is recharged at £600 a day, I don't get anywhere near that, on no sir....

I audit local government / NHS contracts and procurement - usually vey large scale construction contracts.

My work is recharged at £500 a day but I don't see all of that.

The irony of me on less than £500 a day auditing and opining on the work done by Project Managers on double that is not lost on me.

However - we stray :)

So we've got a two bob cheap outfit then, typical of SFC to try and do stuff on the cheap. No wonder we haven't been sold yet!!

But don't BT specialise in football clubs?

Although I'm sure PWC and Deloittes have sports specialists.

David Jones and Kenneth Toynton??

Accountants all, although Toynton's daughter did star in Eastenders, surely that's a sure sign of a good footballing brain.

Well this looks like a result:

Saving a football club – preserving its future

In 2004 Wrexham FC entered administration, owing nearly £900,000 to the Inland Revenue and with debts of almost £2.5 million. These problems had arisen for a variety of reasons, including the collapse of ITV Digital and poor cup runs. The Club decided to petition for administration in a bid to avert a liquidation petition by the Inland Revenue.

Begbies Traynor was appointed to try to help the Club recover, particularly since it appeared that the owners had intended to sell off the land for property development, having transferred legal ownership of the land from the Club to themselves. Begbies Traynor sued for the return of the land to the Club on the basis that the owners had not acted in the Club’s best interests. The Court supported Begbies Traynors’ action and the land was returned to the Club. Begbies Traynor sought and found new purchasers - and Wrexham FC is still an active club with a loyal following.

Dunno, but teh chap currently on our Board is Tointon; the same as the father of actress Kara (her of EastEnders fame). My contacts in Basildon (cough cough) say that he isnt that kind of accountant.

Good for you Pancake, I'd be ashamed to admit I had any contacts in Basildon (or Essex in general tbf)

Bearing in mind I live in Brentwood (for those of you that are scared about crossing Thames, Brentwood is about 6 miles from Basildon) its too uncommon for me to meet people from there.

I'm slightly younger, but Wathan was manager of OT's reserves when we won Junior 1. I was boycotting the Branfoot era and I played with Lord Hagger of Bevois, great centre forward. Am drinking with him tonight.

Dave Poole was a suberb all-round sportsman, who I played cricket against in the 70's. Havent seen him recently but believe he was still following Saints.
