Marsdinho Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 havent these figures been posted on here before...???
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Is that a day rate or an hourly rate (bet it's the latter)? Of course its hourly, who would work for that daily !!
bridge too far Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Of course its hourly, who would work for that daily !! Well, that's why I said 'I bet it's the latter'. But, being an auditor who has to have everything exact (and who, incidentally, charges nothing like that per hour ), I just wanted clarification.
buctootim Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 How much do you charge BTF Depends how much you need hidden.
Gordon Mockles Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Pop in and ask them their local charges! I wondered past their offices recently (which must be relatively new as I'd never noticed them before) and the thought did occur to me with Mr Fry being in charge of our football club. They're right next to those proficient bankers -The Bank of Scotland (the road adjacent to High Street (below Bargate) in Southampton. Hamtun Street/Castle Way.
Big Bad Bob Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Well, that's why I said 'I bet it's the latter'. But, being an auditor who has to have everything exact (and who, incidentally, charges nothing like that per hour ), I just wanted clarification. And what exactly do you 'audit' then BTF eh? The most I've seen earned in my profession is £500 a day! My work is recharged at £600 a day, I don't get anywhere near that, on no sir....
Pancake Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 And dont forget that Mr Fry is usually based in London and Southend, so he will no doubt have some large expenses claims...
Big Bad Bob Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 For what .. Is that open mouthed emoticon supposed to be a hint??

My work is recharged at £600 a day, I don't get anywhere near that, on no sir.... I audit local government / NHS contracts and procurement - usually vey large scale construction contracts. My work is recharged at £500 a day but I don't see all of that. The irony of me on less than £500 a day auditing and opining on the work done by Project Managers on double that is not lost on me. However - we stray

Big Bad Bob Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Then again, cheaper than the likes of PwC, Deloitte etc So we've got a two bob cheap outfit then, typical of SFC to try and do stuff on the cheap. No wonder we haven't been sold yet!!
Window Cleaner Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 25k a day I heard fry wanted So his fee would now be approaching a million £, plus VAT I suppose.

David Jones and Kenneth Toynton?? Accountants all, although Toynton's daughter did star in Eastenders, surely that's a sure sign of a good footballing brain.

What's the best they've done so far? Well this looks like a result: Saving a football club – preserving its future In 2004 Wrexham FC entered administration, owing nearly £900,000 to the Inland Revenue and with debts of almost £2.5 million. These problems had arisen for a variety of reasons, including the collapse of ITV Digital and poor cup runs. The Club decided to petition for administration in a bid to avert a liquidation petition by the Inland Revenue. Begbies Traynor was appointed to try to help the Club recover, particularly since it appeared that the owners had intended to sell off the land for property development, having transferred legal ownership of the land from the Club to themselves. Begbies Traynor sued for the return of the land to the Club on the basis that the owners had not acted in the Club’s best interests. The Court supported Begbies Traynors’ action and the land was returned to the Club. Begbies Traynor sought and found new purchasers - and Wrexham FC is still an active club with a loyal following. from their own website: http://www.begbies-traynor.com/corporate_rescue_&_recovery/223
70's Mike Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 A GOOD EARNER, clubs going into Administration. Strange i specialise in corporate recovery work and we cannot charge what it costs for admin work

bridge too far Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Those who can't do, teach. Suck it up. However, those that CAN do and have done so very successfully are the best ones to find out errors and scams carried out by those who can't.

Pancake Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Bloody hell, how many Kenneth Toyntons are there in Essex? Dunno, but teh chap currently on our Board is Tointon; the same as the father of actress Kara (her of EastEnders fame). My contacts in Basildon (cough cough) say that he isnt that kind of accountant.

Pancake Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Good for you Pancake, I'd be ashamed to admit I had any contacts in Basildon (or Essex in general tbf) Bearing in mind I live in Brentwood (for those of you that are scared about crossing Thames, Brentwood is about 6 miles from Basildon) its too uncommon for me to meet people from there.

Pancake Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Do you know my mate Smiffy? Ardent Saints fan, OT and long time Brentwood resident. Nope, only know a couple of Siants up this way and none of them are known by that name. What does OT mean?
Frank's cousin Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Do you think we could sk to see Mr Fry's timesheet?
bridge too far Posted 14 May, 2009 Posted 14 May, 2009 Do you think we could sk to see Mr Fry's timesheet? If they've got half-decent auditors at the club, they should be asking for these. I'm a half-decent auditor .......

I'm slightly younger, but Wathan was manager of OT's reserves when we won Junior 1. I was boycotting the Branfoot era and I played with Lord Hagger of Bevois, great centre forward. Am drinking with him tonight. Dave Poole was a suberb all-round sportsman, who I played cricket against in the 70's. Havent seen him recently but believe he was still following Saints.
