ooohTerryHurlock Posted 14 May, 2009 Share Posted 14 May, 2009 A couple of days ago one of the texts received mentioned Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment. I done a search on the forum and found they were spoken about on 8th May, anyways, this was found: The Globe and Mail May 13, 2009 Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. has been centred out as the worst owner in the NHL, according to a feature on SI.com, the website of Sports Illustrated magazine. In a story that identified the five best and five worst owners in each of the four major team sports, the site wrote: "How can the $1.75-billion owners of the most valuable franchise in hockey [the Toronto Maple Leafs] continue to so mismanage one of the NHL's most storied teams?"...................... Frank's cousin Posted 14 May, 2009 Share Posted 14 May, 2009 I've read much of this post and I'm actually suprised, although I don't know why, that Weston Saint/Ron has been taken in by MJ. Like I've alluded to elsewhere he must be a reverse empath!! (MJ that is, not Ron!!) I know Ron will be able to speak for himself. I know Ron very well, a good pal and a decent honest bloke who loves this club and is quite well connected at player level. He has my admiration as he has an open mind to most things and is not a hardarrrsed cynic like me ;-) I would say less taken in by MJ, more like open minded about it and is probably also sceptical to some extent, also probably too nice a fellow to start giving him a public kicking. Me on teh other hand having heard first hand what ST David and LLS said last time around and even before the BOurnemouth debacle, I really dont know whether to PMSL or cry that this is potentially teh only option and is likely to be **** in the wind. My idea for a sweep stake would be what excuse will we have for its failure 1. It was all BS from the start 2. The 'backers' had cash flow problems which meant t could not go ahead 3. The backer is in prison, dead, fictional 4. Outside interference - someone else fecked up 5. Saints forum atitude scared away teh backers - yes those mean 30 or so internet obssesssed tossers like me scared of hard nosed business types from completeing a multimillion pound takeover becaus ewe said a few 'nasty' things... (you could not make it up except someone has! ) 6. add your own cut out and keep excuse here for when teh inevitable happens 7. It actually happens we are saved and I will tell everyone on here how sincerly sorry I am and that I am a prize barstard who will never mention a positive about Lowe ever again... Fitzhugh Fella Posted 14 May, 2009 Share Posted 14 May, 2009 DP, yes I am making assumptions on the so called mj bid, this is based on his past history. Im not focusing to much on what the echo is reporting because my news came very late last night. As I said Pinnacle fronted bid should be announced as prefered bidders this afternoon. Will supply initial funds this morning to keep club afloat until next stage dd is completed. I am very exicited by what I have heard & trust implicitly - I just hope it comes to fruition today which at this moment I have no reason to think it won't. obviously situation is fluid but I would be suprised if things have changed in the last 7 hours.
