saint lard Posted 13 May, 2009 Share Posted 13 May, 2009 No there are no other clubs at the moment who can support a 32500 Stadium although London Wasps sometimes reach their capacity at Wycombe. I cannot see fans travelling a long way from London to watch rugby Coventry's Ground is sometimes used for Rugby I think you would be surprised,i used to travel to Loftus road when Wasp's played there and i still travel to Wycombe to see them.We used to get very good attendances at times also. It was sometimes a great weekend SFC Saturday,Wasps on the Sunday. What was great about it was the completely different going to Rugby, have a beer wherever and whenever you like, great entertainment and atmosphere, reasonably cheap tickets to. Don't knock it till you have tried it.

I watch a lot more Rugby than Football but I cannot see loads of people coming down to Southampton from London to watch Rugby regularly thats all. It is different for you as there are no decent teams in Hampshire so you have to travel as does a friend who lives in Basingstokes and is a season ticket holder at the Stoop. eelpie Posted 13 May, 2009 Share Posted 13 May, 2009 No - they would have to be Premiership (or aspirations thereof) and the closest would be London based and therefore probably already have a home. The closest to Southampton is Harlequins and their ground is in Twickenham (the Stoop).
