rpb Posted 12 May, 2009 Share Posted 12 May, 2009 Easy if you have the latest Google Earth! Find where the Dell was - go to View on the Toolbar and tick Historical Imagery. Slide the bar that has appeared top left on your screen back to 1999 and the Dell has reappeared. You can also create St Mary's (or make it disappear). hypochondriac Posted 12 May, 2009 Share Posted 12 May, 2009 Does Fratton Park have a "bulldoze" option? I don't think the software lets you go back to 1699 which is when I imagine it was built.

St Landrew Posted 12 May, 2009 Share Posted 12 May, 2009 No it's free - it's only on Google Earth 5.0 though... http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html Indeed, anyone not able to do it should look up their versions in Help on the Menu bar. It's Google V5.X only, not V4.X. Upgrade to V.5 free.

St Landrew Posted 13 May, 2009 Share Posted 13 May, 2009 One sits at the PC pondering what amazing structures have been built or taken down in recent years. Then I find out that high resolution pictures weren't available a few years back in the area it took me forever to think of. Shouldn't moan really though. Google Earth is still a fascinating program. The Dell looks great. The absence of St Marys, the Incinerator, and a couple of other minor things are quite interesting too. Presumably, the London Eye and Gherkin will also disappear. Saint in Paradise Posted 13 May, 2009 Share Posted 13 May, 2009 Makes you realise that for many years we have been spied upon without knowing it ? Well I did but most didn't
Hatch Posted 13 May, 2009 Share Posted 13 May, 2009 I think Google earth is brilliant. Except it's made me realise I have too much crap in my garden.
