70's Mike Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 Personally I think nationality has very little to do with it. I would have thought someone with knowledge of the english game and system, good contacts and someone whom the players (both experienced and young) would respect would have been most important. It's so easy to say with hindsight that NP had those things as well as the respect and a synergy with most fans. History will judge your decisions and sadly both Wilde and Lowe failed. I just wish they would both admit it. Perhaps then I would have more respect for them. Unless you have pots of money to spend then the likihhood, in the lower leagues, is that they will be British

Gordon Mockles Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 I wanted a half decent Chairman/Executive/Chief Executive/Executive/Finance Director/Director of Football/Manager - Mockles. I also wanted some nice presents for Xmas, to keep Pearson and build from last season and to avoid relegation this season. Sadly, in life, we don't always get what we wish for in life!
CWD Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 This is the reason wy we're in this position in the first place - everyone saying "Not my fault!" Wilde is doing it and so is Lowe, Crouch, LM.... why cant someone just take responsibility? Its pathetic and far beyond a joke
beatlesaint Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 Can he not see he is making himself look like a lilly livered idiot ? I wanted a British manager - YOU WERE THE ****IN FOOTBALL CLUB CHAIRMAN YOU ***** - WHY DIDNT YOU STAND UP TO LOWE AND TELL HIM TO BUTT OUT ??? of course, it may have been something to do with those shadows behind you eh Mike ???
Frank's cousin Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 Mr Wilde If that is indeed the case, given you were chairman of the football club and a 17% shareholder, why did you not stick to your guns, and importantly why when we met with you last April did you seed the idea of a continental set up as a joint idea between you and Rupert? Personally, i was in favour of trying something new, saw the logic in it and have spent time and effort on here defending it to the amzement and ridicule of others... i was proven wrong by the results we got, even if the idea still had merit - such is life we cant all be right all of the time so i put my hands up and say I was wrong - no shame in that so why cant you do the same? Miost fans would have acknowledged that you and Lowe inherited a difficult situation - but when in a hole its usually wise to stop digging....
corsacar saint Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 Spineless individual, who has come close, or maybe has left the club in terminal decline.
Legod Third Coming Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 I have a personal message for Mike. When in a hole, stop digging.

Sundance Beast, Professor, Scooby), most of us didn't need hindsight, we were screaming this the day Lowe sacked NP and replaced him with a couple of amateurs.
aintforever Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 What a ****, we could have appointed a Wenger and it wouldn't have made any difference, we still would have gone down due to the 10 point penalty.
Gorgiesaint Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 Michael Wilde has not made any friends yet lol Think that's your answer Mike - now go away please - and don't come back.

Window Cleaner Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 Wenger would have brought in better loan players I'm not so sure, I've watched them twice this week and they were a shower of sh*te both times.Much like us really, too many kids, not enough up front, a lot of bad control of the ball, an absolute crap keeper against Chelsea and a lot of ball being given away for nothing. Arsenal have really lost the plot ,whether it's down to Wenger or their finances I couldn't say but playing Gibbs in the champions league was suicidal to be honest. If they have no other options then they are hard up. Kid may be good one day but right now he is a liability,as we all saw.

I think you made the point the other day a £300 million team will usually beat a £50 million pound team. Arsenal have done pretty well this season with their resources and I expect them to do better next season

I just want a reasonable team with a reasonable manager not too much to ask I would have thought.
lordswoodsaints Posted 11 May, 2009 Posted 11 May, 2009 so its not lowes fault because he came out and said the **** up happened whilst he was away, its not crouch's fault because he had a plan to get us up the table but lowe cut him short and its not wilde's fault because he was bullied by lowe into accepting his demands and when he tried to put it right with a british manager lowe went and appointed wotte..........so who is to blame?? it must be our fault, perhaps we are too demanding.
