Master Bates Posted 9 May, 2009 Share Posted 9 May, 2009 A state of the art 10,000 seat arena (similar in scale to the Echo Arena Liverpool) is the centre-piece of a grand new vision to redevelop Southampton's Royal Pier and Mayflower Park. Will most likely never happen. What is it for do you think?

spyinthesky Posted 9 May, 2009 Share Posted 9 May, 2009 There is definately a paln being formulated for the Waterfront which may well be announced in the next month. A large Exhibition/Conference centre is likely to be part of this
Mr saint Posted 9 May, 2009 Share Posted 9 May, 2009 Saints' home ground for the Blue Square League? They'd have to close the corners I expect.
Crab Lungs Posted 9 May, 2009 Share Posted 9 May, 2009 LOL, will never happen, ever. Expect flats for 'young professionals' instead.

Mr Nice Posted 9 May, 2009 Share Posted 9 May, 2009 I work at the council and have seen plans a number of times for this sort of thing. It has always come down to the allowance of housing to fund the rest of the project shops and arena etc This has never been allowed so far due to plans of flats that would ruin the skyline across the bottom of town. Another ocean village so to speak.
70's Mike Posted 9 May, 2009 Share Posted 9 May, 2009 Will probably end up like the plans for an Ice Rink or West Quay extension, just plans?
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 9 May, 2009 Share Posted 9 May, 2009 Well they cant even sell the houses they've already built in Ocean Village so opening another portion of the waterfront for housing is crazy.
