There is definately a paln being formulated for the Waterfront which may well be announced in the next month.

A large Exhibition/Conference centre is likely to be part of this

I work at the council and have seen plans a number of times for this sort of thing. It has always come down to the allowance of housing to fund the rest of the project shops and arena etc This has never been allowed so far due to plans of flats that would ruin the skyline across the bottom of town. Another ocean village so to speak.

Well they cant even sell the houses they've already built in Ocean Village so opening another portion of the waterfront for housing is crazy.
