So this is exactly what happened at Bournemouth then as far as I can tell from reading their forum. A last minute hitch, followed by a drop out from Jackson's consortium, he then "joins forces" with rival consortium.....now at Bournemouth he then announced himself owner-in-waiting and Chairman and the consortium quickly kicked him out and refuted his claims, but I can see the same things happening here. The big fella's made up consortium (I think they said at Bournemouth his proof of funds was fake and some fairly small cheque actually bounced) can't get a deal done so he acts as some kind of saviour bringing in a new group - who at Bournemouth already existed - and tries to leverage some kind of job for himself.

IMHO absolutely disgraceful, putting resources to waste and threatening the future of our club, all to try and get a percentage of the deal or a job going forwards that his talents clearly do not merit.

I really think Begbies have a lot to answer for here.

It'd be funny if these idiots did this to any other club, but as it's Saints it's not funny at all.

I expect the ITK's were all grovelling up to him at the forum match last night though as they're all as braindead.

Thankyou for that Stanley. MJ was very quiet and was not acting in a big iam manner. When introduced by othewrs who were mutual friends we did chat with others there.Dockgate 4.

I found him polite and very enthusiastic about saints as well as St David etc and tehy care.Weston and Dubai Phil were alos in attendance as well as many of the forum players. Some had travelled a long way Norway and Leeds being 2 destinations. These people care for saints as well. We talked quietly and nobody as far as I know pushed the point as we respect the problems with NDA's. This bid has been going on for weeks and they have kept their silence only now is it apparent MJ may be involved but I doubt he is the main man. That strikes me as they have shoed away from publicity un;ike the Jersey bid.

I have not said i believe in the bid 100% but I respect Fry so far and although i am cynical to think that it may be any administrators interest to drag it out he leaves it open for criticism if he carries on talking to a phoney.

Perhaps its my desire for us still to have a club to support but I do think it is a little rich to criticise people wanting somebody to buy us especially when we were not the people baying to go into administration in the first place.

There's nothing rich about criticising Jacko. He's shown with us and with Bouremouth that he's a fly by night barrow boy. You just have to look through the catalogue of escapades he's had to come to the conclusion he's nothing but a joker trying to making a few quid.

I heard exactly the same from someone who works at the club. He was a complete time waster, a ****ing liability.

Perhaps Im just hoping that something happens that may be good for us all.

So much for all the talk last week how it was going to be being a saints fan.The hope keeps getting smashed.

Why did Lowe select Begbies as administrator in the first place....?

Well Trousers, I wondered that. My guess is that as WH Ireland gave Begbies a 'Buy recommendation' in their January newsletter that they would practice what they preach and therefore appoint them.

have previously had dealings, as tonight's Echo reports that Gerald Krasner, the administrator called in by Bournemouth in March 2008 was working for Begbies and of course we all know the farce that ensued there. Wacko Jacko had more splits and breakdown in relationships in a month than most business men in a lifetime and yet it seems now Begbies, under Fry are/were quite happy for him to be involved in what now seems another time wasting, potentially fatal tyre kicking exercise.

I suppose Begbies have to listen to all offers or bids but you would have thought they would have treated Jackson with a bit more caution. This last minute hitch is ridiculous - either a bid was made (and we have been told by those who would know that it was) or it wasn't and someone is telling porkies.

Seeing Jackson's mug on the front page of tonight's Echo scares me to hell. The future of our football club seems to be partially in the hands of a serial Walter Mitty and he appears to be getting plenty of airtime thanks to Begbies.

Spot on Fitzhugh, I was interested to read though that a foreign investor has entered the fray; I wonder who that may be? Still another week gone and no real news as to who will eventually win through, I guess we will all have to wait for another Friday; have a good weekend all.

Rupert Lowe will part of the Jackson package if it ever happens.

Jacko will climb into bed with anyone that'd be daft enough to have him.

I was at the forum match didn't see MJ(could have walked straight past him for all I knew) but aware today from Nickh's post he was there which ties in with my post on a different thread re St David, however, fail to understand why people would be 'grovelling up to him' ? do you fawn over people and therefore assume others do the same, a needless pop at other posters imo Stanley, grovelling, braindead..necessary ?

What i said is true, and Jacko knows it too. There's a little group of fans that aren't content with hearing news through the proper channels who go out of their way to grovel up to the likes of LLS as being ITK twangs their egos. And past events show they are gullible in the extreme - blinded by a desire to feel important.

Is this place one of the proper channels you speak of ? you may be right in that some want or would rather hear information first, does that mean their self interest is primary ? the fact that they share it on here imo conflicts with that, if a poster said something like "met with a member of the consortium last night, was very interesting but can't say no more, wait and see, Friday is the day..." then that would be (ock like behaviour but if they say "spoke to MJ and blah blah blah" then I interpret that as simply sharing information with those who have an interest.

So nothing happened again today then, fellas?

Apart from St David appearing to returning to his fantasy world, no.

LLS, St David and takeovers, is it 2007? Pass me the Chablis.

The problem is that most (not all) of the ITK's aren't very bright and get so carried away with feeling important that they are a dream for people like Jacko to exploit. All they need (and want) is a slow drip feeding of ******** and they've suceeded in their objectives. I must admit i don't like the "i know something you don't know" nature of the ITK's. They plant a seed and then announce "i will not be posting anymore on this thread" for example. What is that all about? Talk about smug, yet the majority on here hang on their every word, cult ITK status is achieved, and Jacko and his ilk get what they wanted. And the sad thing is these ITK's are so consumed with feeling all important they don't even realise they've been played like a fiddle.

Because most professional services firms are LLPs - outside investment is a no no.

Begbies Traynor, on the other hand, is owend by a PLC.

I dont actually mind who takes over Saints.

I dont actually know any of the characters involved

all I want is Saints to be successful and financially ok

There appears very little chance of this happening though - given the 'track record' of MJ. Methinks with a little investigation of your own, then you probably would mind - you might even welcome back Rupert Lowe.

Manipulating fans is one thing, has/will his art of manipulation work on Fry ? if that indeed is all he is about, look, if he is playing a game and we, SFC, lose out whether by investor or further point deduction then i'm all for beating the photocopier cartridge right out of him, however, what i'm struggling to reconcile is Fry will have knowledge of him and his previous conduct so maybe, just maybe he's found a money man this time, who knows ?

Yep - no points deduction for them.... oh :(

The biggest losers are the ordinary hard working fans of SFC. We've had passionate fans that have gone out of their way to give donations to the club and Marc Jacksons involvement is just burning this money. One way of looking at is that all the money donated to the bucket collection is paying for Jacksons timewasting.

This poor family have busted a gut to help SFC, is this fair on them?

While not disbelieving what St David has told you Duncan I think that you, with all your dealings with people, realise that people (no matter how affable they may appear) almost always have an agenda. So they may not tell you the whole story or the complete truth. David was himself led up the proverbial garden path with Mr Jackson's dealings just about two years ago. Maybe he's not diving in again. Maybe he's as enthusiastic, and naive (like I was) as last time?

I have no idea if St David is or isn't involved. Just be wary.

Very wary.
