So there can be no confusion regarding my match report I would like to say that Baj and the9 played through injury for the team. They gave it all in a real team ethic. I may have called Baj 'Drogba', but only in a respectful way not in a footballing sense of course...I mean in a play acting sense. Both he and the9 played for the team both carrying injury.

Still enjoying the monets of fun lads , both teams full of top people.

Bugenhagen got full respect when Scudamore lashyed one straight into his head and he didnt go down like a woos but carried on as nothing had happened . Superb Bugenhagen and to travel from Norway just to play the game shows what a top man you are.

Couldnt agree more. Nice chap too. Very good story as to why he is a Saints fan :-)

My jaw is does that count?

Nick, I have a duty to be loyal to our Gaffer, and I hope that Phil knows that there is a place in my heart that shall forever be reserved for him, I am sure that I speak for the rest of the Home Team when I say that you really did make it a fantastic evening. Not forgetting your brilliant submissions on the forum pre and post match.

Three cheers to you mate.

I missed the end bit Mike, as some bloke kept asking me if I had Andy Hessenthaler phone number on my mobile. Don't know who he was, but hope he remembers that he owes me a beer. ;)

That comment is most appreciated Hamster and if I did add something to the evening Im very pleased.I really was sincere when i said i was proud of 'my team' and although I didnt get to speak to all your lot (trying to get a word in with FOS around is tricky)they seemed a great bunch as well.

May it happen again.

Guys,

sorry it's taken a while to respond, been pretty much out of circulation since the game (not due to the pain in my knees, groin, ankle and achilles!) Although it's all been said before on this thread, I would like to add my sincere appreciation and thanks to everyone that attended, played, managed and organised the event. I really enjoyed it and thought the attitude and commitment shown was a real testament to the "Spirit of Southampton Fans" Great fun and I'd be up for it or anything similar at any time.

Thanks again guys.

Ah well, I think it's good that we set out our excuses before the match.

Had i heard defeatist stuff before the match Id have nipped that in the bud.We were the mighty Flints and only underhand tactics were going to beat us......ohhhhhhhh

Phil was a good man though, a really nice man.Congratulations to him and his squad of 19

Ha! He didn't shake my hand! To go 3-1 up though was awesome, and I could only just hear you on the touchline, how players hear the gaffer when there is 30k there I don't know!

Bloody hell I was shouting like mad.You did hear me when I called for you to take the D.

I still cant believe we were robbed but we did have a great bunch of lads didnt we?

Awesome set of lads, the dressing room was very quiet at full time, shows how much we wanted to win that game!

Yeah, I was thinking that - couldn't hear anything that was being shouted from the touchline!

I could hear Nick now and again, as he said above when I moved to the D, but other than that, nothing, makes you think now....when you see them going mental on the touchline whether it's worth it!

Ah well, all comfy in the lounge at Heathrow. Looking forward t getting back to the land of internet access so can start to catch up on the thousands of threads.

Still buzzing over the whole evening and again well done to Baj & Granty.

As for all the moaning, not once did we moan or try to point out that the penalty was ball to hand...

As for the shuting from the touchline - lol even if we did remember the right player's name they didn't listen anyway! Only in the last 15mins did Fos1 start to look for and follow guidelines about pushing up..

So great time and a shame Nickh didn't see the circling hands motion and the wave from the ref for the miracle substitution. Must have been too busy rehearsing his victory speech:-)

Looking forward to getting back home so can see the photos properly, and once again a HUGE thanks and respect to the guy who volunteered from the crowd and managed to get my lad to the station in about 4 minutes flat so he could catch his train back to Oxford.

Now I got a pair of footie boots would be a shame to waste the 1.50 I paid at the car boot and never use them again... Hopefully we'll have a stadium to do this again at next year.

Life is about collecting magic moments to look back on, the forum match was one priceless evening.

Have a safe trip Phil, I hope there is hope in your heart not dejection.

The ref was probably motioning to where to drop the envelope.Normally in the real games subs come on during a break in play.

As fopr the shouting perhaps its because we are both quiet and not a lot to say characters that the players couldnt hear.I think anyone near to the managers would have heard me.

Safe trip

Normally between the sticks.
Thats right you did tell me. So I d just like the home team to digest we had a keeper in midfield in the first half and 1 at centre back in the 2nd half. what a team to be able to do that.Makes our efforts even more admirable and add to that the Flying Finn recovering a cruciate injury
