Pilchards Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 As his name is in the news right now I thought I would start a thread on those that remember the wonder goals and the silky skills he gave us over the years. I'm talking about Matthew Le Tissier. Now if you had to vote between him or seeing the amazing goals and tricks Christano Ronaldo has displayed recently and during his short career, Who would get your vote? I loved watching Le Tiss all those years ago but watching Ronaldo now leaves me stunned how he does it. What about you?

IF .........Ronaldo continues to score goals as he has recently........and continues to do it for the next 5 years...then it will be a close race, but for me... it has to be MLT....(as we're never likely to see CR in a Saints shirt !)
skintsaint Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 MLT all the way...he mixed the long rangers up. CR gets a load of aid with these light balls with movement etc in the air and the way he toepunts the ball hard. On the ball though CR wins hands down...until he falls over.

Dogbreath is getting worse at that now! I can never remember Le Tiss ever taking a dive?
Burger Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 If Matt had played in the current Man U team he would have 40 a season..... Give Ronny 50 free-kicks he may score from one.......MLT you expected everyone to go in. Anyone notice how often Ronaldo looks up at the big screen in grounds.....so he can watch himself?
buctootim Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 CR is possibly the best player in the world playing at the richest club in the world. I'm still amazed that 'lil old us' had for over a decade a player who matches him in many ways.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Ronaldo's technique does not look natural when taking free kicks unlike MLT and Beckham, doubt any midfielder will ever have a compilation of goals, like MLT's, to put on a dvd, that even a neutral could marvel at.
sambosa75 Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 I'd love to see MLT with these new-fangled all-singing, all-dancing balls. I'd go for MLT every time just because of his quirkiness. Looking at him, he should never have been a professional football but was blessed with sublime natural skill. When looking at Ronaldo, he is a proper athlete and looks like he belongs on a football field... which is boring.
