StInky Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 (edited) http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4349530.Saints__There_are_two_bids/ Conformed, confirmed. Lost it in the excitement. And already linked in Press Conference thread!!!!! Sorry. Edited 7 May, 2009 by StInky poor spelling
Deanovski Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 as terrible as it sounds id rathr have an abrahamovic(sp), sorry le tiss
Saint_clark Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 So, we are down from 3 to 2... :-( Maybe one of them had f*ck all money?
Saint_Ash Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 2 is better than 0! Obviously the 3rd was so tin pot we don't want to bother with them!
S-Clarke Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 So, we are down from 3 to 2... :-( there was only ever 1 bid on the table up until now. lots of expressions of interest, but only the 1 bid.
Jez Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 So, we are down from 3 to 2... :-( Wouldn't most normal people rejoice and say 'Yuss we have 2 confirmed bids' rather than being so negative and worry that we had missed out on a rumoured 3rd bid? Your prospective on Saints is odd.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Anyone expecting a Sheikh or an Oilgarch to ride in on a white horse and throw silly amounts of cash at us is seriously deluded. We are now a League One club, the two interested parties sound like the sort of people we should be attracting. I'm of the opinion that this is great news that we actually have some serious interest in us.
Deanovski Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 " The other bid is believed to be from a consortium led by Southampton and London based businessmen with one major financier behind it. "
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Someone on Echo forum has stated that Lowe and two other blokes were seen entering SMS today. I think it is a load of ******** personally. "I've just received a call from a friend of mine who is a business owner in Millbank who just spotted Lowe and two other chaps entering St.Marys." http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4349530.Saints__There_are_two_bids/
hypochondriac Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Not great yet. Just because bids have been made doesn't mean they will be accepted. Watch out in case they are rejected. Nervy times indeed.
yorkie Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Who cares what League we are in surely the club surviving for another 12-months is all that matters? I read the article - it appears from where I sit in deepest darkest Yorkshire, that there are 2-Nr confirmed bids. As opposed to 2-Nr interested parties. Le Tiss or not Le Tiss that is the question. Not really sure what he brings to the table apart from passion for the club, think back so did Crouch! Being a fan is not always the best thing when involved at high level. However he may get some decent players coming here on the back of his involvement. On the -10-points issue - my gut feeling says we will get away with it should the new owners have the bottle to take on the Football League. Onward and upward - what glories next season? Promotion Johnson's Paint League Cup FA Cup I'll settle for a club that survives in Division 1 and looks like moving forward - but then again I'm easily pleased.

alpine_saint Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Your prospective on Saints is odd. As is your spelling...
ART Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 He's just wanting to get there early for a good seat at the forum match[/QUOT Thought of posting that myself. Could well believe Lowe'd turn up tonight with some of his Gloucester Rifle Club buddies to even scores with forum members whom he's found somewhat irritating over the past few years.
lancelot link Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 He's just wanting to get there early for a good seat at the forum match well this could be complete b/s but i've just been told that the pinnacle guy(s) are on there way to SMS. I'm tempted to drive there myself and see!
Chez Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 fantastic that there are two bids and hopefully the cluib will be saved at what is nearly the 11th hour now, however having read about the disasters at York City, Luton and the near dissaster at Mansfield (name change to Harchester United anyone?) I think I will reserve judgement on these bids and the people placing them. I have a question, is anyone better than no one and whats the worst a new owner can do to the club once he has it?
Gordon Mockles Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 It makes you nervous when the Echo article mentions the Pinnacle Group and you google a Pinnacle Group that is a business involved with photocopiers!! *parp*

Down and Out Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Without wishing to stir things up.....didn't that 'Walter Mitty' Marc Jackson who made all the noises last year about leading a consortium to buy Saints and in fact then turned up at AFCB as their new owner.....all for it to eventually turn out to be, that he was a 'fantasist'.... work for a 'Photcopier Company' LOL

david in sweden Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 He's just wanting to get there early for a good seat at the forum match maybe...... he's just there to clean out his office desk and return his car parking priveliges, and get a bargain or two from the Saints shop !
ph11be Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 We should count ourselves lucky to have serious interest!!! I feel really sorry for the Quakers fans!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8037396.stm
buctootim Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 We should count ourselves lucky to have serious interest!!! I feel really sorry for the Quakers fans!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8037396.stm That article about Darlington says "Brackenbury Clark and Co set a deadline of 5 May for interested parties but it said no acceptable offers had been received by that time". I wonder if that means that the two bids for Saints already recieved by the deadline are therefore de facto 'acceptable' in principle and therefore we have a buyer and the administrator just needs to thrash out which one wins. Good news.
Dr Who? Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 We should count ourselves lucky to have serious interest!!! I feel really sorry for the Quakers fans!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8037396.stm What happens to the league place if Darlington or Saints do not find a buyer? The latter looking like we will. Do Chester stay in the football league? Not nice and as we are going through this we are lucky to have any interest at all. COYR!!
