thesaint sfc Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 I had a vegetable curry last night. It has caused terrible, terrible problems today like I've never known before. Onions seem to be the worst culprit for me. What do you find gets the gut juices going?

St Landrew Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 I had a vegetable curry last night. It has caused terrible, terrible problems today like I've never known before. Onions seem to be the worst culprit for me. What do you find gets the gut juices going? That's a shame mate, as the onion is probably the numero uno vegetable in the kitchen. I find that throwing food down my neck too quickly, and not chewing it sufficiently leaves me with a problem. When I go sailing for a day I buy a fair bit of prepared pastry food, like sausage rolls. They can sometimes give me enough heartburn to warm a decent sized home.

Having said that, I sometimes find a quick slurp of Southern Comfort causes 'southern discomfort' too
Smirking_Saint Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Alcohol in general, i get really bad heartburn. But.... as long as the gaviscon is ready i'll put up with it.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Forget the Gaviscon, try taking Ranitidine daily.
Weston Super Saint Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 Forget the Gaviscon, try taking Ranitidine daily. Nah. Just go with a glass of Magnesium Trisilicate.
Weston Super Saint Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 I don't have heartburn.... You can have some if you want, no need to feel left out.
bridge too far Posted 7 May, 2009 Posted 7 May, 2009 I don't have heartburn.... Two tips from me, then: 1. Take Dialoryte (sp?) and eat probiotic yoghurt 2. Keep a plentiful supply of bog roll in the fridge HTH
