Championship clubs according to the BBC will enjoy a £400,000 windfall following Birmingham's immediate return to the Premier League. By winning promotion at the first attempt, the Blues do not collect their second parachute payment of £11.2m and that money will now be split between the other teams.

I suppose that is another £400000 we have missed

So if we had waited until the end of the season we could have avoided administration, yeah?

It depends, I suppose, on when the funds are distributed. Is it this season or at the start of next season?

I think it is next season

I'd have thought we wouldn't be included. It's for next seasons parachute payment, we won't be in the CCC next season so i doubt we'll receive anything.

If we are in line to receive it though lets all hope Reading go up too as they'll be in the same boat as Birmingham with regards to parachute payment.

I think we should recieve it because Brum have gone up this season, therefore it is the teams they have played that should benefit.

But my gut feeling is that because the payment would be FOR next season it is next seasons teams that will benefit

Does anyone know if we get parachute payments for going down to L1 at all, or is it whishful thinking?
