press conference

Yes I know it's ridiculusly naive and after 19 pages of speculation on the takeover I take most with a pinch of salt and hope that some snippets here and there are true or not.

But as we all know SOMETHING is going to happen soon-ish, I didn't for a minute consider that the simple announcement of a press conference would also turn out to be bxllocks. It seemed totally in line with everything we have heard.

Yep, you're right - I should have learned by now but it's still bloody infuriating!

19? Try about 10,000 over the last 3 years.

Although, I drove past the ground this morning and there were some media chimps outside....be it two photographers, but, it's a start.

They must be there for the Forum match tonight!

If you play well you will get an opprtunity to play for the first team...

You heard it hear first!!!

I've posted this before but Badvoc is 100% genuine on his info and if (and I stress if) what his source has said comes to full fruition then I believe we will all be smiling.

However my guess is that there may be some horse trading to be done before a final agreement is arrived at so things may still be fluid.

As for the Thursday at 2pm story - didn't this come from Radio Solent\South Today rather than any poster on here?

a friend just phoned me, he has connections - apparently there is a press conference lined up for 2.00p.m. tomorrow

I think that that South Today first mentioned last night an announcement possibly "within the next 24 hours"

Strange best offer alledgedly £3.8m according to 606 forum about an hour ago.

That isn't going to save us - is it?

If £3.8 is cash to pay the creditors and the new owners take over the Aviva loan (Stadium debt), then yep that should be enough. Once the administrator has his cut, i imagine that would be around nearly 50p in the pound for Barclays and other small creditors.

Won't get a CVA with that though. Not if we owe HMRC 2 million and there are football debts. If we owe the taxman 2 million they'll want all of it before they let us off the hook.I believe there's a stadium payment due soon as well, thet'll be another 1.8 million on the ever increasing debt as well.

Weston posted yesterday that HMRC isn't an issue and he is one of the very few on here that do actually know what they are talking about, so i'm happy to believe that is the case expeacially as HMRC hasn't ever been raised as in issue in the past.

Which effectively leaves Barclays who, if the stadium debt is not in the equation, would own more than 75% of the the total debt (Fag packet maths - could well be wrong) which means, if they accepted we woudl get our CVA.

The stadium payment won't increase the debt, we just wouldnt be in a position to pay it, so we wouldnt be decreasing the debt.

It's all about the cash available and what can be paid. Judging from all the warnings in the press and on the OS, it doesn't look like we would make it past another Pay roll, so that would appear to be the key date in which everything would have to be finalised.

LOL.

About a month or so ago - when Lowe was in charge - it was lauded around that we were in financial bovver, but Lowe had done such a wonderful job that the tax man had been paid every penny we owed him / her.

Now we owe him / her £2m!!!

Expensive month April!

Why do I get this feeling that we are all about to get a big disappointment ?

ive got the same feeling im afraid,my feeling is we will end up with a 'just about scraped the money together' buyer and we will continue struggling financially for a long while.

i think we all hoped that we would start the L1 campaign debt free with a few players who are too good for the league resulting in our pushing for promotion but i fear we will be just be another crap team in a crap league.

i hope i am wrong.

Luton offered to pay the taxman 100% of what was owed them, and they still opossed the CVA. They are opossing every football one on principle until the Football Creditors rule is changed, by the FL. If the revenue get a vote on the CVA, we're stuffed. As others have pointed out, hopefully they wont get a say in it.

My understanding is: if you owe them money when you go into admin, they will vote against any CVA whilst the Football creditors rule is in place, if you dont owe them at the time of admin, you can continue to pay them and they are not a creditor. Hopefully all the donations ect, are being used to keep the payments up to date.

If the monies owed to the taxman is not greater than 25% of the debt and everyone else agrees, even if the taxman opposes the CVA, the CVA will be accepted. It can only be refused if more than 25% of the people owed money object to the CVA.

The only one who will make an announcement as to when an anouncement is to be made is the Administrator and no one in the media is saying he has made such announcement.

It may be correct but how many times have we been told that before about Saints matters.

See, you should listen to me.

No-one should have turned up at St Mary's or bought any clobber. That would have kept our tax bill down. 75K at St Marys=approx 300K in VAT,plus VAt on booze, pies, shirts, curtains and whatever have you.Wouldn't be surprised if they taxed the bucket collections as well, bunch of robbin bustards.Government will only waste it on handouts to illegal immigrants anyway.

You're having a laugh - 50p in the £ is a very good offer if thats what it is and given the tax debt is significantly less than 50% of the debt I reckon they'll be outvoted in an CVA deal. Anyone know what the acceptance criteria is? (65% sticks in my mind for some reason)

Source?

Why do people always ask this question, i'm not about to turn around and say "My mate who's the manager of the MLT Suite" am I.

Just a text/rumour from my mate that i'm sharing, as you can see by my second comment I doubt very much there will be one.

Yeah - so accurate that he doubts it is true. He's gonna get flamed at 2:31 for suggesting it I'll wager.

No, just that there was one due last Thurs/Fri, but was cancelled due to interest at the 11th hour.

Anybody got contacts at the club to see if MB is correct?

Only thing they'll probably find out is that the Conference room has been booked, but then I think it's been booked out for the past 2 weeks.

Hardly. MB isn't saying that this press conference will definitely take place, just passing on what he's heard. As he's already stated, he has his doubts as to whether this rumour is true anyway! No reason why he should be slated for letting us fans in on a text he's had.

Oh and I've reached 1,000 posts! Does that mean any rumours I post have more credibility now!? :p

Please don't shoot the messenger. A rumour's not a rumour until it has been shared.
I am not shooting the messenger for the rumour, just the fact that it re-opened this thread of endless drivel that should have died long ago. He should have started a new thread.....but then me replying to you is just exaccerbating the problem so I am going to shudup. Edited by kpturner

If we all did that then what would we talk about? ;) Old women like a good gossip now and then.

Don't get f*cking sacastic with me you f*cking goose!

It's a f*cking reasonable question considering you mentioned a press conference for the media. Hardly going to be a confidential press conference is it?
