I've got a very strange feeling right now....

This could be it....

Less than 24 hours to go ........

Please, please let it happen ....

Am off to watch the Chelski - Barca game on the box, have a few glasses and hopefully wake up to the BIG BIG news ...

Let's hope the barstewards don't let me down (again)...

The only one who will make an announcement as to when an anouncement is to be made is the Administrator and no one in the media is saying he has made such announcement.

It may be correct but how many times have we been told that before about Saints matters.

Just a note on press conferences - if they are called they are not secret.

A calling notice will be issued by the club's press office.

Even Saints don't hold press conferences in secret!

99% of the ITK stuff on here turns out to be bullsh*t, but with regard to a press conference, you don't need to be ITK. Just ask the club's press office if it's true.

Not saying it isn't true, by the way, just that it's easily verifiable one way or another.

Ok I am desparate enough like most people on here to be able to wait until the claimed time tomorrow . By a quirk of fate I have a non-football related meeting at the Madejski Stadium tomorrow - I hope they have SSN on and if I see him I will ask Sir John - he is probably as well informed as most people on here!!!.

I guess that means the club is going into administration then! Wonder what the League would do if that happened?!?

That cannot be correct (i.e. administration) as the club has no assets so would be closed down immediately. Fry would have a lot of explaining to do if he allowed this to happen when there is a definite bid on the table and reportedly two more about to be lined up (if not already issued).

I do not believe the creditors would want this to happen either. Hopefully. 8-[

Well it was mean't a bit tongue in cheek but since you make the comment Crawley Town went into CVA with assets of less than £700 and Mr Fry's firm finalised the agreement to take them out of CVA.......so there you go!

That'd probably be for the best. I have reservations about this bid. That said i know **** all about this bid.:)

Won't believe anything until its on OS, there's been far too many false dawns in the past.

I'm probably being thick here but when Solent say Fry will announce the preferred bidder today, is that meaning the preferred group from those that have bidded or that the group he'd prefer made a bid.

Has a bid actually been made atall yet?

there will be a press announcment at 2.00 oclock to say the consortium le tissier involved in will be our new owners, heard this from a very good sorce

I have heard this as well from my firend who works for a large property developer (we are linked with a potential property developer)

He said he heard it from a reliable source as well, but hasn't revealed who :o/

I am NITK, but from normal business practice am pretty sure it won't be this definite. By far the most likely next step is an announcment from Fry to the effect that he has received one or more bids, that at least one of them is acceptable (please!) and that he is now working with one group as the preferred bidder to finalise details with the hope of an actual deal very shortly. He *may* indicate who that bidder is, with their agreement. But in any event if I am right there will still be some doubt and the deal could fall through before being finalised.

So if there is indeed a press conference this pm, called by Fry, that is probably very good news, but unlikely to be quite the end of it. Still a few slips between cup and lips.

K.

PS would be delighted to be proved wrong with an actual final and firm deal being announced today!!!

I'd say that is pretty spot on. There's a danger in us all getting our knickers in a twist about this being the end to the saga, only to be let down again, Saints-stylee. It could also be a bad news press conference, of course...

If there really is a press conference, then I'm a bit more optimistic than Ken.

If Mark Fry merely wanted to issue a non-conclusive statement, he could do this without a press conference - especially if he is unable to answer any questions that go beyond the statement.
