kpturner Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 .....has got to be Jo Tessem. Still wants to play for Saints and won't cost a penny. Can't understand why he wasn't taken up on his offer to play for bugger all halfway through this season (those who listen to Radio Hampshire will know what I mean).
kpturner Posted 5 May, 2009 Author Posted 5 May, 2009 I suppose Totton and Ealing may see it differently: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11728
St.Patrik Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Paul Telfer should be signed before Tessem - but both are players Saints could need next season I guess.
fish fingers Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Jo Tessem could barely complete 45 mins for Bournemouth recently. Rubbish idea.
kpturner Posted 5 May, 2009 Author Posted 5 May, 2009 (edited) Telfer is enjoying himself too much at Stoneham GC I think.....but I agree he would be useful in this league. We can go from the youngest squad to the oldest squad in less than 12 months. Edited 5 May, 2009 by kpturner
lee_saint Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Tessem didn't do alot at Bournemouth....although Telfer could be a good shout, played for Leeds in League One so has got a few games under his belt, would give us cover on the right side.
alpine_saint Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 I rated Tessem; as long as he is fit, I would welcome him back.
lee_saint Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 I rated Tessem; as long as he is fit, I would welcome him back. Seriously Alpine, he was very gash for Bournemouth. If he signed, I would be very suprised if he played more than three games.
lovell1988 Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Telfer is enjoying himself too much at Stoneham GC I think.....but I agree he would be useful in this league. We can go from the youngest squad to the oldest squad in less than 12 months. Telfer signed for Slough Town not too long ago.
70's Mike Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 hopefully someone on the dotted line, counter signed by FRY
ooohTerryHurlock Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 .....has got to be Jo Tessem. Still wants to play for Saints and won't cost a penny. Can't understand why he wasn't taken up on his offer to play for bugger all halfway through this season (those who listen to Radio Hampshire will know what I mean). .... And what do you know about anything? .... Hang on a minute are you not that guy that looks like Zak Dingle????
saintjay77 Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 i never rated him when he was with us before and cant see him being any fitter or mobile than way back when. He would love to help us out but so would Killer. Sometimes we need to look forward instead of backwards.
kpturner Posted 5 May, 2009 Author Posted 5 May, 2009 .... And what do you know about anything? ...never start a sentence with "And" you illiterate. Any more of that and I will reveal your true identity to the forum and watch your postings stop dead in their tracks ;-)
Arizona Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Much as I like Tessem, if he came back it would just ruin his reputation. Even if he is 'fit' I doubt he would be in good enough condition for even League 1 football. Same with Telfer really. Tessem and Telfer as coachs I would love to see. Good work ethic and both gave 100% whenever they played.
Scudamore Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Jo Tessem could barely complete 45 mins for Bournemouth recently. Rubbish idea. Spot on
SET Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 You know the saddest thing about this thread, is the title will read "first signing in the conference" in a couple of weeks.
Gemmel Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Ormerod I would take though. Why? The goals are still the same size and your still allowed goal keepers in League 1
Arizona Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Prutton I would take. I know people didn't rate him in the past, but we aren't in the Prem now people. What I wouldn't have given for someone with half his bottle in the side this year. We signed Wotton, Robertson, Molyneux in the CCC. Imagine the gash we're going to be signing in L1. There are far worse players on their way in than Prutts I tell yee!!
Cheesegrater999 Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 I just love how some posters on this forum like to live in the past. Move on gentlemen, move on.
fanimal Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 I saw him in Morrisons at Totton yesterday and he looked tall and lean to me, a lot bigger than some of the lads running around at Forest - did you see their number 3? We have got to get some bigger taller stronger lads next season!
kpturner Posted 5 May, 2009 Author Posted 5 May, 2009 I just love how some posters on this forum like to live in the past. Move on gentlemen, move on.Why? The past is much more palatable because you can ignore the crap bits. But seriously, if we get taken over by an entity with substantial funds for transfers then Tessem, Telfer and co can do one (with OoohTerryHurlock) :smt041
warsash saint Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Cant believe that people on this border would welcome back players that could not even make the grade at Bournemouth Tessum could not get a game & Telfer was boo'ed more than when he was a Saints player. I know we have sunk to new depths BUT surely we are still punching above Bournemouth ?
Minsk Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Prutton I would take. I fully agree. A CM of Gillet and Prutton would certainly have some bite for L1.
Papa Shango Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Prutton is at a League 1 team already, and can't get in the side.
madsent Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Tessem didn't do alot at Bournemouth....although Telfer could be a good shout, played for Leeds in League One so has got a few games under his belt, would give us cover on the right side. You're right. Tessem barely made an impact on the pitch at Bournemouth. That said, he must have been a great influence in the dressing room since Bournemouth won 12 and drew 2 of the 22 games he was there for.
Arizona Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Prutton is at a League 1 team already, and can't get in the side. Depending on which entity ends up owning this sorry mess next season, I doubt we will be signing many first team regulars. I repeat; there are some far worse players than Prutts on their way in.
saintjay77 Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Much as I like Tessem, if he came back it would just ruin his reputation. Even if he is 'fit' I doubt he would be in good enough condition for even League 1 football. Same with Telfer really. Tessem and Telfer as coachs I would love to see. Good work ethic and both gave 100% whenever they played. I must have been watching different games! Every time i saw Tessem play I thought he was lazy, didnt track back, poor positional sence and a rubbish touch. I was moaning that he was the worst player on the pitch in the 1st half of the FA cup game against spuds. Went for a smoke and beer and he scored as I was comin up the steps just as the 2nd half started. I was pleased but gutted lol. Still dont think it would help if he came back as a player though.
Arizona Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Doesn't matter if prutton can't make the leeds team, it's about whether he's improve OUR team that matters, and it's blatantly obvious he would. Absolutely, and if we finish above Leeds next season I'll eat a small, 3 door hatch back. And by small 3 door hatch back, I mean Jaffa Cake. Because he'd be cheap, work his arse off and give his strike partner far more chance of scoring. And I don't think he'd be the worst striker in league 1. Disagree about BO. Yes Beatts went on that scoring run when playing along side Brett, but he also got a few playing along side Pahars, Phillips and Tessem at various times. Add to that Fuller and Jones were both pants when paired with him in 2005. I know we are going to be limited next season, but we need players with more attributes than just running like a bad vindaloo. He's not exactly young either, so we may not even get that out of him.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 ...never start a sentence with "And" you illiterate. Any more of that and I will reveal your true identity to the forum and watch your postings stop dead in their tracks ;-) But many experts now say you may. And another thing: It's a question of style. Because it's done for emphasis. But then again style is something Saints fans have not seen much of recently. Is it. (Rhetorical question, so no ?)
ooohTerryHurlock Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 ...never start a sentence with "And" you illiterate. Any more of that and I will reveal your true identity to the forum and watch your postings stop dead in their tracks ;-) Whats one of those???? For what its worth I think Jo could do a job, and Telfer as well. Its as much about wanting to play for the club at the present time as much as anything!
Gingeletiss Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 WTF.........why do you want all these over age players. Good they may of been, but in this instance, I say look ahead and not back...we need new blood.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Tessem and Telfer. You're kidding me aren't you?
Ponty Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Might as well get back Idiakez and Wright. No thanks to Idiakez but Wright would be good in L1.
The9 Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 (edited) Why? The goals are still the same size and your still allowed goal keepers in League 1 He was a bloody good player in Div3 in 2000/1... it's nice to see that after one season of kids not being the greatest thing since sliced bread we're all set to cave into the the smallmindedness of signing has-beens that used to be good for us (or sometimes not even that) before everyone else realised they were now past it. Actually, ALL the conversations about who we should be signing are moot until we know 1) If we exist 2) Who owns us and how much money we have to spend 3) Who accepts new contract offers 4) Who actually wants to sign for us, languishing on minus 10 and all that... Edited 5 May, 2009 by The9
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 No thanks to Idiakez but Wright would be good in L1. No, no he wouldn't! Bloody hell guys.
revolution saint Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 I'd like to see us sign some great big lump of a striker. Someone who while not mobile will bully defences, hold the ball up and bring others into play. I don't really care if he's not the new Torres I have no idea who as I'm not really up on Div 1 players (or lower) but someone like Micky Evans (as in like him, not actually him) would be good. As for Tessem, I was never a great fan at the time and I think he'll be less effective now - I'd rather MLT came back to be honest.
saintwarwick Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Prutton I would take. I agree with you, would make a great signing for league one and would of been a great asset this last season. As for Tessem no thanks he's past it.
Master Bates Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Anyone hear Mark Dennis mention that Glenn Hoddle would come back as manager with one of the consortia?
saintwarwick Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 You're right. Tessem barely made an impact on the pitch at Bournemouth. That said, he must have been a great influence in the dressing room since Bournemouth won 12 and drew 2 of the 22 games he was there for. And they also got relegated that season.
Ponty Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 The older/fringe players on the sides just promoted out of League 1 would be the most likely targets for the sides that have just gone down from the CCC.
saintwarwick Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Anyone hear Mark Dennis mention that Glenn Hoddle would come back as manager with one of the consortia? When was this? You realise you'll have Dalek2003 creaming his pants.
saintjay77 Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 WTF.........why do you want all these over age players. Good they may of been, but in this instance, I say look ahead and not back...we need new blood. blimey I agree with you lol
