Arizona Posted 1 July, 2009 Author Share Posted 1 July, 2009 Can we have an update ? By my reckoning these are the appropriate changes as of July 1st with contracts having expired and no-one having taken over the club to offer new deals... 1. Kelvin Davis - Contract expired, having a medical at West Ham 5. Jan Paul Saeijs - Loan has ended. 6. Michael Svensson - Announced his retirement from playing on June 25th. 7. Rudi Skacel - Out of contract. Released on May 6th 8. Bradley Wright-Phillips - Out of contract. 11. Andrew Surman - Wolves rumoured to have agreed £1.5m deal 13. Bart Bialkowski - On loan at Ipswich. Unsure of contract details 14. Stern John - Out of contract. 15. Jason Euell - Out of contract. 16. Romain Gasmi - Confirmed his loan will not be made permanent. Returns to France 17. David McGoldrick - Joined Forest for a "seven figure sum" on June 29th. 18. Nathan Dyer - Joined Swansea on a permanent deal for £400k. 2nd June. 21. Jamie Hatch - Out of contract. Released on May 6th 27. Kyle Davies - Has joined Real Salt Lake. Compensation likely due to age. 29. Jeffrey Imudia - Out of contract. Released on May 6th 33. Joseph Mills - out of contract, has apparently been offered a 2 year deal. 39. Ryan Smith - Out of contract. Released on May 6th 41. Zoltan Liptak - Loan terminated early, before the Forest game. 43. Lee Molyneux - rumoured to be on trial at NEC Breda I'll wait until I find out if SFC exists and the possibility of some of the players signing new contracts before I highlight them. Players in red are the one confirmed gone and not coming back. Interestingly, if all the deals in the pipeline go through and all the out of contract players leave, we're left with Perry Thomas Saganowski Rasiak Wotton Bart Holmes Schneiderlin Lallana James Gillett Lancashire from the senior players. Which you could ironically make a starting 11 out of: Bart James Lancashire Thomas Perry Lallana Gillett Wottton Holmes Rasiak Saganowski 12 players left in the whole squad and Schneiderlin still wouldn't get in if I were manager. ART Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 I am beginning to wonder if we're not selling off all the players in an exercise to pay off all the football club creditors namely Barclays Bank. This would in effct ensure that the club is solvant and a separate entity as far as the Football League and any further points deductions are concerned. Whether it would convince them is another matter. I would be interested if someone has the statistics of showing where Saints have stood in the Fair Play League the past 5 years. At one time we were near the top but don't think since Burley arrived that's been the case.
The9 Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 ..... As for all the "Still on OS", has it occurred to you that updating squad details on the website might not be a task worth paying someone for at the moment...?

krissyboy31 Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 My West Ham mate says Kelvin Davis has now signed. I was going to ask if this had happened, because there has been nothing all day on SSN, nothing on the local news, and nothing on the Saints and West Ham OS's. Doing his coaching badges at the moment but does not want to retire just yet. Chez Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 Don't need the cheap players anymore absolutely, we now need the right players to get us winning games. First stop a centre half, then a central midfielder, then two wide men and a pacey striker.

Minsk Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 Now that the takeover is complete and it seems that Wotte will be staying on as manger, I have a feeling John, Euell and BWP will be offered new contracts and our first permanent new signing will be JPS. Saint_Mabes Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 I have nothing against any of them but...does it make sense to sign 3 strikers who have all had a substantial time at the club? I personally would like it as i think Euell will be good in midfield and the other 2 up front, but i dont think it will happen. Part of me doesn't want to see these kinda players leave, but another part of me wants a new start.
Danish Saint Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 Currently watching Norwegian Tippeliga, and there's a few names around here, that could do a job for us: AM/ST: Erik Huseklepp, Brann Bergen. Being linked with French football, but would be more suited to the English style of play. MID: Tomasz Sokolowski, Viking Stavanger. Polish born, but Norwegian national. Very good passer and defensive midfielder with a good right foot. LB: Trond-Egil Berthelsen, also Viking. Saints need a LB and he's been making good progres this season. Viking has Østenstad as Director of Football and Uwe Rösler as manager = Strong ties to Saints.
