Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Maybe she suffered a heart attack or a stroke :smt102 She legged it. Not the sort of thing a stroke or Myocardial infarction victim would be able to do, I wager.

I find it difficult to believe anyone who is involved in an accident would want to leg it without something to hide. Catch her (which I'm sure they will do) and bang her up for a very long time the murderous *****.
St Landrew Posted 4 May, 2009 Posted 4 May, 2009 Tragic circumstances, and my heart goes out to the little boy. I have certainly heard of people running away from an accident situation before, and it wasn't because they were scum, or high on some substance. It was because for a split-second they could not handle the situation, and were caught with an overwhelming urge to run away from it. Sometimes, this fight [stay] or flight [run] mechanism just kicks in, and before the person knows it, they are doing something they would not normally do. I agree, that this driver is possibly all the things posters have mentioned before. But it might also be a very frightened person, who is thoroughly ashamed of the situation she finds herself in. It may mean that she will think it through and give herself up, or she may be too frightened of the consequences. We'll probably never know.

She may very well be all manner of things but it may be a little premature to say.
Toomer Posted 4 May, 2009 Posted 4 May, 2009 She legged it. Not the sort of thing a stroke or Myocardial infarction victim would be able to do, I wager. Having had one DSM I can tell you it's the last thing you would be able to do, I feel for the lads family but some do gooder will come out on the side of the female driver. I hope the sentence she gets (when caught) is long but it will never bring the lad back.
bridge too far Posted 4 May, 2009 Posted 4 May, 2009 (edited) I won't come out on her side or against her as I don't know ALL the facts. But I think the fact that she's female is irrelevant. Lots of male drivers scarper after accidents too, you know. Edited 4 May, 2009 by bridge too far

bridge too far Posted 4 May, 2009 Posted 4 May, 2009 Calm down, no-one has said she legged it because she's female, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference what sex she is! But the thread title is a bit subjective I think. Just as easy to say 'Hope they catch the b astard / b ugger / coward'. But I too, hope they can find out who did it and I feel very sad for the little boy's family.

bridge too far Posted 4 May, 2009 Posted 4 May, 2009 b astard and b ugger would both tend to imply the person is male wouldn't it? I guess b ugger might, but I'm not sure b astard would :smt102 I stand corrected, sort of
revolution saint Posted 4 May, 2009 Posted 4 May, 2009 I guess b ugger might, but I'm not sure b astard would :smt102 I stand corrected, sort of Well technically b astard and probably b ugger could be applied equally but I'm not sure they often are - they're both pretty much exclusively applied to men. Anyway, I don't think it's been a sexist thread and there have been enough similar threads on men doing equally bad things so I don't think people are judging the person by their gender. Whoever said it was probably an east european immigrant is jumping to conclusions and wrong though.

I was just mulling over the use of the word 'b itch' in the thread title. Probably because I'm bored .......
bridge too far Posted 4 May, 2009 Posted 4 May, 2009 Jesus BTF. What a point to argue. As I said - I'm bored. Watch the snooker or be pedantic. That was my choice.
Weston Super Saint Posted 4 May, 2009 Posted 4 May, 2009 Who knows, maybe it was a man in drag :smt102
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 4 May, 2009 Posted 4 May, 2009 Big skid marks ? Use Ariel with a scoop of OxyAction. Oh, and wipe more carefully afterwards.

the stain Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 The 'chav' assumption is in poor taste too. When did it become cool to vilify the working class?

Some people :smt009

Do they think she had that heart attack after all :smt102 Anyway, they shouldn't worry too much, from my days trying to collect debts in and around Westbury, people can get lost really easily in that place
