Saintjersey Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 That game was a story of our a season, one good half and one s*** half.

charliemiller Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Well thats over........worst season ever. Time to rebuild and restructure...........only way is up from here . Onwards and upwards COYR
St Landrew Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 We drew?! Get in... (Yes I know we lost.... admin obviously didnt though...) I just about managed to drag myself into being interested enough to change the 1-1 draw scoreline into a 3-1 loss.
NickG Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 weird, but really have no feelings about it at all - more interested in new owners/managers etc
St Landrew Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 We'll walk League One. The next one who uses this phrase gets an infraction.
exit2 Posted 3 May, 2009 Author Posted 3 May, 2009 We drew?! Get in... (Yes I know we lost.... admin obviously didnt though...) SOrry I just copied and pasted the other bit doh!
Stepgar Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 We'll walk League One. you got words round th wrong way - we will get walked over in league one
Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Same old gutless crap. I know it didn't matter and the players didn't care much, but it's the fact most haven't cared or tried month after month I hate. Fine if you're not good enough, but putting in a half arsed effort every week then taking your money and acting like superstars is a joke. Good riddance to most of them. And to think all the SOS funds and bucket money will fund these mugs summer holidays is a joke.
swannymere Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 And to think all the SOS funds and bucket money will fund these mugs summer holidays is a joke. To be fair i think it barely covered up till now and that's with some players and staff not being paid.
BallBoy Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 For a while I thought we could at least sign off with a bit of pride. What a stupid thought! I exclude Kelvin, Perry, Wotton and Size from that comment. The kids just don't get it.
geoffnut Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 This lot continued to let us down right till the bitter end. Get rid of them all and start again.
maxi_sopez Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 so then whats was your high of the season? mine was leaving blackpool and thinking yes never have to go to this sh!thole again!
egreog Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 With the exception of KD I really hope all these losers move on elsewhere and ply their inadequate wares to some other poor gullible sod who pays over the odds for total mediocrity........simply the worst, least motivated , overpaid journeymen that ever wore the shirt...........there may not be a SFC after next week, and the effort of this sorry lot go a long way to explaining as to why!..........would you want to buy into a club with contracted players like this?.............I thought not!!
Bailey Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Thank god this season is over with. Worst season in Saints' history? It's going to be an interesting next few weeks, that's for sure!
Delmary Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Thank god this season is over with. Worst season in Saints' history? It's going to be an interesting next few weeks, that's for sure!Definately my worst season every. Onwards and upwards;)
Nineteen Canteen Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 And to think all the SOS funds and bucket money will fund these mugs summer holidays is a joke. Have to say that has been my problem with the donations all along and the club have been very weak in not addressing player's salaries. No problem in contributing to those who work hard behind the scenes earning a normal working wage or I suspect in same cases on or near the minimum wage, but the thought of filling a bucket with 1200 tenners so Skacel can be paid is weekly wage is frankly a disgrace. There are very few players in that squad that i would like to see run out for us next season and none of the bigger earners because since administration they have done very little to convince me how much this club and its fans mean to them.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 The next one who uses this phrase gets an infraction. We'll walk league 2 in August 2010 despite the presence of Eastleigh.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 We'll walk League One. I recall someone saying that when we went down to the CCC.
Fan The Flames Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 That game was a story of our a season, one good half and one s*** half. I don't remember having a good half of the season, it was **** all the way through.
Wes Tender Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Thank God that this season is over. Today's game illustrated yet again why we went down. A really good first half, then the rival manager proves as always that he has far more understanding of how the British game is played, susses out why we were effective and where his team needed adjustments, makes them at half time and then they are all over us like a rash the second half and come away with all three points. To paraphrase Rhett Butler, quite frankly my dear, I don't give a damn about the team this season, or the manager or anybody who has been associated with the running of this club the past decade or so. As far as I'm concerned, the only ones worth keeping will be those who will be sold. the others are just so much dross that I couldn't care whether they ever get to wear a Saints shirt again. If we manage to get a buyer soon, let's get rid of Wotte who is no more useful than Poortvliet, get a decent British replacement and start again from square one next season.
Strangely Brown Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Couldn't beat a carpet! Just hope whoever becomes the new owner has deep pockets

Mole Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Just back. What can i say. Thank **** this season is over.

St Mikie Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Thank God I decided to have a BBQ with friends today! Could have been a bad day otherwise!!

eelpie Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 We'll walk League One. We walked CCC too. In the wrong direction.
Ewell Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 A fitting end to the worst season in Saints history in my lifetime! Good riddance and lets hope we are over the worst of it. I do however feel that things will get worse before they get better, -25 anyone? Next year we may need to have a great season just to stay up!

Toomer Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Lets just hope there is new owners in place soon the club is on life support and in dire need of a transfusion.
Micky Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Uh? Did we play today then? Y-a-w-n! Just about sums up my interest right now too...!
teamsaint Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 A fitting end to the worst season in Saints history in my lifetime! Good riddance and lets hope we are over the worst of it. I do however feel that things will get worse before they get better, -25 anyone? Next year we may need to have a great season just to stay up! assuming the club lives on, I think we are going to have to be very patient. -10 at best means we have to have a promotion season just to get in the playoffs. We are a long way from that IMO. -17 0r -25 means an automatic fight to stay up. And patience may be our best hope. The club needs rebuilding all over the place, and 1 short summer may not be enough. We have to build a solid squad built on team spirit and work ethic.could take time. I think whoever is in charge needs to point out that promotion, realitically, is a 2 year aim.

Arizona Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 First half Saints seemed well organised and fairly determined. Well worth our 1-0 lead. Second half we played by far the better football, but made defensive errors. By the time the 2nd and 3rd went in we'd pretty much given up. Irrelevant end to a terrible season IMO. As for the players: Davis - 6 Couple of decent saves, but most of Forest's efforts were either goals or way off target. Could have done better with the 2nd IMO, but not really at fault. James - 7 Very good first half, some good crosses. Went a bit quiet second half. Perry - 6 Not bad mistakes, but did get bullied a bit by Dexter and 3 goals is 3 goals. Size - 8 Put himself about brilliantly and looked up for the fight. A bit erratic at times diving in. Surman - 6 Didn't offer to much, but generally did what was needed at the back. Lallana - 6 Was poor in the first half, but looked better second when we started playing good football. Ran at players, but no real end product. Gillett - 7 Kept slipping over and passing was a bit off, but a decent engine. Will be useful in L1. Schneiderlin - 3 Just awful. Didn't seem to care and never got out of second gear for anything. Only good thing I can say is his passing was okay, although very predictable and never adventurous. BWP - 7 Well taken goal and always looked lively first half. Went off the boil second half. DMG - 8 MOTM. Looked far more up for it than he did for the first 3/4 of the season. Put in some challenges and was always running onto balls. Euell - 6 Good hold up play. F**k all else really. Subs: Lancashire, Gasmi and Gobern - 5 All pretty forgettable
Nineteen Canteen Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 don't feed the troll. We won't. Do they let you out of your cage at games?
saintjay77 Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Wes I don't disagree with most of what you say above but I don't understand the emphasis on 'British'. Its narrow minded at best and could be interpretated as fascist at worst. We are in a Britsh league with British teams and a majority of British supporters. I dont think commenting on a manager knowing this British way more than another as narrow minded to be honest. I dont think we or anyone else needs to be exclusivly British in anything to do well in any of our leagues but Wotte lacked something that resulted in more defeats than wins that I dont think would have been apparent had this been a league in Holand. The Dutch way can work IMO but the guy at the top needs to have more about him that JP and Wotte and the team needs to be much better to be able to carry out the Dutch way. Chelsea can do it with a Dutch manager and Dutch system which kind of shows how good all the ingredients need to be to make good use out of that system. And we aint! Couldnt give a monkeys about todays result, would have been nice to sign out with a win but was the last thing I expected. Looking forward to hearing some good news soon on new owners with money to spend and no association with any of the t1ts we have had in the past. And if that happens I will go buy a lotto ticket as my luck will obviously have changed.
Stu Man Do Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Didn't seem to bother the directors of Swansea and Mk Dons are doing ok. Aside from the fact your clearly looking for an argument both of the managers of these teams had long term spells in British teams where guess what ... a "British" style of football is played. I bet there isn't a person on this board who hasnt heard a commentator during the champions league describe the "italian" style as defensive or the "dutch" style (yeah right!!!!) as attacking. Personally I'd class the british style as fast paced high pressing football. Anyway back to the game ... as someone else said followed the pattern of many games, us doing well without any goal scorers the opposition working us out and then beating us in the 2nd half :-(
SaintRobbie Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Mark Wotte... couldnt run a bath or command a view.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Confrontational as ever, you know full well what Wes ment, we need a manager who understands what is needed to compete in league one and that will have to be an English/British one. You give him too much credit for understanding what was meant - he's spent all season telling us lowe was doing a great job, we had no choice, blah blah. Says it all, really.
SaintRobbie Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Wes I don't disagree with most of what you say above but I don't understand the emphasis on 'British'. Its narrow minded at best and could be interpretated as fascist at worst. You really are out of touch for a holocaust denier. I would take someone like Gus Poyet as he understands the British leagues and teams but apart from that I know of no other jonny-foreigner who could do the job. Wotte is top of that pile now as a PROVEN failure.
InvictaSaint Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 Didn't seem to bother the directors of Swansea and Mk Dons are doing ok. Martinez played for, at least, Wigan in this country and Di Matteo played for Chelsea...all of which, if I am not incorrect in my reasoning, makes them both eminently more qualified in 'British' football than the clowns we have had in charge this season, neither of whom ever kicked a ball in anger in the UK.
