He had 18 games which is only 5 short of half a season. Was here from pre-season and knows the players. 19 points from 18 games x 46 = 48 points. Which would still have resulted in relegation.

Ewell Posted 3 May, 2009 Posted 3 May, 2009 As much as I feel our club is crying out for some stability it has to be a No. I do feel sorry for the bloke as he has had his hands tied pretty much. Not a lot of managers would be able to do much better with the players he has had to pick from this season.

Even in a dead rubber "pride" game his subtitutions knackered the team and as someone said above hes hardly set the world alight with arguably players of better ability than the players we'll have here next year. If we need a guy to manage on a shoe string next season and get players playing better then they are he is clearly not a guy who can do that. He has failed simple as that. And because of that he should have the dignity to resign like he said he would. But he would never get another job at this level even league one level. So he wont just walk.

Clean slate next season - aim for comfortable midtable and then build to get promoted within the next three years. We need some realism....

A clean sweep is what is required. I'm not even sure I want the same players, because I want the least reminders of the previous regime.

If ever proof were needed that he can't motivate a team it was the Burnley game where we played with a real spark because the players were actually motivated (by the situation rather than wotte). It showed up how un-motivated they have been all season.
