RoswellSaint Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 unlikely as offer on the table - those made offer would have gone through due diligence and know what minimum is required to keep club going. Would suggest that worse case is not particularly exciting offer but enough to keep club going and the club is saved. But Nick, that offer can be withdrawn - see Darlington. It is an expensive game of bluff - Mark Fry trying to squeeze as much money as he can out of a buyer, the bpotential buyer(s) trying to keep the price down. Who will blink first? Will they walk away. It will go down to the wire.

RoswellSaint Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 Exactly. Why Derry thinks one offer is better than two offers to choose from is highly conspiratorial. Maybe because with more than one bid, the winner ends up paying more than they want to leaving less money to rebuild the team with. I don't think he has links with any group looking to buy Saints. Buy the paper tomorrow to find out. Please do not run this story in full. Just a link. Just as long as we don't have to buy 'the Sun' to check this out! I'm pretty sure the next thing we will hear is that X is the preferred bidder with just a few details still to sort out and that Fry is working to finalise the deal within a very short time. I have no idea who X will be and no idea when the announcement will come, but the signs are ... soon. So we are all doomed to checking this and other sites at ludicrously frequent intervals, and even listening to those patronising idiots on Radio Solent, one of whom can't even pronounce Le Tiss's name correctly. OldNick Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 But if it's 2 or 3 more months for starters we'll be -25, and worse still, very unlikely to start next season at all. I thought it had to be sorted by this weekend to avoid the extra points deduction. Is that true?If we dont come out of admin without a CVA yes it will be -25. Administration is so exciting isn't it? lancelot link Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 If we dont come out of admin without a CVA yes it will be -25. Administration is so exciting isn't it? But its not that straightforward nick since the club is not in administration. and if we're to believe that an appeal can be won then the club itself will be unharmed, just the parent companys fall out with its creditors. Im sure theres much more to this than meets the eye. what little I did find out leads me to believe that all interested parties know roughly want they will pay for the club but they have to make guesses on how much money will be needed long term to try and actually turn it around? remember, in the main, football clubs dont make money - except them big buys at the other end of the spectrum to us, and even then theres only a handful who make money. SaintRichmond Posted 6 May, 2009 Share Posted 6 May, 2009 Leagues will be a farce soon. If 4 or 5 clubs start on -10 or -25, and it looks likely, it's hardly the same is it. Has to be a better way. Especially when Stockport have gone into admin at a time that meant they wouldn't be punished (as the points deduction doesn't cost them anything). Just more nonsensical rules. If we were mid-table and 10 points off left us say, 17th, where would the threat be? You'd just go into admin at the end of the season to avoid the deduction in the next year. Just what Leeds did, except Leeds were already down. So WHY did Lowe deliberately wait until AFTER the League deadline before going into Admin ........ ENSURING a Double Whammy ..... 10 points if we avaided Relegation, and 10 points when we were ??? Any Lowe Luvvie care to answer ???

Because his smug lawyer mates told the Emperor of Smugness himself that there would be no case to answer and that we would escape such punishment, especially because Lowe is a business genius, the like of which football has never seen before. There are probably two consortia bidding to buy Saints and MLT might be connected to one of them. Lowe is not/is connected to one of them. There are no big ships around.
