Legod Third Coming Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 In the aftermath of the deduction and relegation, this board was full of bright, creative and some incredibly moving, gestures by fans. Despite our hour of need and the prevailing ecomonic woes, hundreds of us pitched in tickets to those less well off. It was enough to make several grown men cry. People dipped hands into pockets they could ill-afford to empty, to keep our club afloat. Most arguments were set aside - and finally we remembered that money matters not as much as all those fantastic qualities that first drew me to this club - an unswerving belief in better times, a family feel of (as Jo Tessem so beautifully put it) "looking after one another" and a passion for justice and to see David succeed in Goliath's yard. THAT for me, above results, has been the Southampton I love. Then the prospect of one man going to an away game returns us to the squabbling, in-fighting and grandstanding that does no one any good in the long-run, regardless of your view...
Toadhall Saint Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 Just goes to show how he divides the fan base - but only if you let him.
SaintRobbie Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 So what's your point? His point is that Lowe = division even now and perhaps we should attempt to rise above that in our hour of need... which makes sense until you realise how much hatred Lowe attracts for his 14 years of incompetence.

You were doing so well until then. Realising that just makes it harder, it doesn't stop it making sense.
aintforever Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 Saints fans are united, it's just this message board that has a few opinionated dickheads who love to start an argument.
SaintRobbie Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 You were doing so well until then. Realising that just makes it harder, it doesn't stop it making sense. The point is that in reality - no one will ever forgive him. I had a boss that was incompetent too, similar to Lowe in his arrogance and deep down was not actually very good. Whenever one or more of us who worked for him assemble in a room you can guarantee his name will be mentioned and the venting of hatred and frustration comes out. I see alot of similarities. Lowe has scarred the fans of this club forever. Just have to accept that.

Scudamore Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 (edited) I'm oviously missing the multitude of threads where people are squabbling over Lowe going to that game. I mean there was one thread. Which is probably where the OP would have been best placed. Now while we have walking hard ons like Stanley starting threads about the goings on at a completely unrelated business under the tenuous link of Rupert Lowe being a director there. That is where you get problems. It's an obsession with one man which ultimately gets you nowhere...and bores the living sh:t out of me and plenty others. Edited 1 May, 2009 by Scudamore

In answer to your Question ... Rupert Lowe is killing our Club ...... He has already brought it to its knees Whether he completes the destruction depends on whether he gets back in
Scudamore Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 In answer to your Question ... Rupert Lowe is killing our Club ...... He has already brought it to its knees Whether he completes the destruction depends on whether he gets back in there was no question...
Mole Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 This thread is as embarrassing as alpine_saint's life. Bungleus Cretinus in pot calling the kettle shocker.
Puddings and Monkeys Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 Saint Richmond and Saint Robbie....Lowe obsessed or what???
Scudamore Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 Bungleus Cretinus in pot calling the kettle shocker. Why would he call a kettle shocker? Faulty fuse perhaps...
Frank's cousin Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 I still dont understand how anyone can LET Lowe spoil things or get you so wound up - just dont let him him have these hollow 'victories' - ignore him... If you look at those threadsthat end up in this debate they are njot started by LOWE, but by the same old same old WANTING to get a reaction - they cant simply let Lowe dwindle into insignificance. Its amazing that fans get so wound up about was is pretty insignififcant in teh grand scheme of life - sorry but if you belive football and thus LOwe feck ups be so important as for you a) to hate him, b) to let him going to a game wind you up, c) be so obssesedd that you cant let a day go by without whinging about him on here, then that kinda suggests that you need to get out more and get a life ...Lowe is just a bloke - who happened to get lucky and get involved in football - he did some good, lots of bad and made mistakes that feck us - not intentiaonally, but ultimately that dont matter, we got relegated - happens in sport .. so get over it ---- new boys wanted to turn things around, spent some monety we did not ahve -, nearly pulled it off, but the risk meant we were buggered as a result - onld boys return, what to turn around teh losses, try something bizarre, but cheap and if fails so the banks lose patience, admin, FL stroppy... what happens next we dont know... ITS FOOTBALL FFS. Some of you go on as if you have nothing else worth living for or going on in your lives - and that is rather sad.
the saint in winchester Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 As I only get 3 posts a day, I'm still waiting for someone to open a thread of Sky Sports website SSN that Svensson has officially hung up his boots.! Come on someone.

Lowe is NOT Football, never has been, never will be, yet professess to know better than anyone else about how to run Saints ... ..... Good at it isn't he ???
Frank's cousin Posted 1 May, 2009 Posted 1 May, 2009 That is the problem ... Lowe is NOT Football, never has been, never will be, yet professess to know better than anyone else about how to run Saints ... ..... Good at it isn't he ??? I think thats where we may differ... Lowe has been inviolvded in football for 13 years - more than many of the 16-18 year olds on the terraces, but he is not given any acceptance or credit for that - maiking mistakes is not unique to him... Jemba Jemba at Man U anyone? and is there anyone more 'Football' than SAF? I have to say I doi still believe that there are those who simply refuse to let Lowe be given any creidt or acknowledgement becaus he came to teh game later in life that earlier which teh football old guard never like. And to anyone under 19, remember he has been imersed in football for longer than you have.
