Simon, when are tickets going on sale?

I would officially like to reserve 6 please.

And please can you clarify the age restriction, ie what is the limit and if kids only go to the day bit do they still need a full price ticket?

I know you are busy, but I may be having to plan around the Div 2 play off final which is on the same day, plus organising babysitters for the evening.

My brother is playing and he is a pompey fan. See we are not all bad!

a few of my mates who have a well know local based band who all happen to be saints fans !! emailed various organisers and offered their services to help raise money and the organisers didnt even bother to email them back, well one did who said he would pass the email on to the the guy that organising the bands !! taht was the last of it !!

to not even bother to reply is just rude.

fair enough they are not coldplay but they have played the joiners, brook and wedgewood rooms many times.

Then to read they have pompey fans playing just makes me giggle.

I'm not one to grumble as the lineup does look strong but I also recommended my mates band The Reason who have headlined at venues up and down the country including the Cavern Club in Liverpool and havent heard anything about them being on the bill and I reckon they are better than the majority of bands already on the bill.

probebly didnt get a reply as they are not mates with the organisers

Not True.

We have been very busy these last few weeks. I'm sorry you didn't get a reply. Who did you email? Who are the band offering their services?

As you nay of read, due to the massive demand of bands wanting to pay at Saints Aid, we have made it an all weekend event. We are hopeful of securing some music venues on the Friday, Sunday and Monday nights. Saturday will be at SMS on the Itchen concourse and maybe another room with the stadium.

Ticket prices will be around the £15 mark. This ticket will enable you to attend EVERY Saints Aid event in every venue over the weekend for FREE. People without a ticket will have to pay on the door at the other venues. SMS is ticket only and we are expecting the demand to be high. Ticks should be on sale at the begining of next week. All door money will go to Saints Aid.

Were still not sure on age limits. I'll get back to you asap.

There will be a Saints Aid family funday on the Saturday 23rd in the Chapel car park. This is purely a family event. Unfortunately we will not be able to play live music (Bands) in the car park as license only allows 499 people there at one time.

Did a Local Band called 'Open Room' contact you?

I know they were very keen to play and all Saints fans!

They haven't contacted me Paul.

Try Lee or Glynn. they are the ones sorting out the bands.

Have 'open room' got a myspace?

I think they had a call back today. Their myspace is http://www.myspace.com/openroom

I don't know much about them but my mate really raves about them.

Will their still be live music during the day on the Saturday at St marys?????

Of course there will. We are using the Itchen concourse. The capacity is only 750 though. This will be in conjunction with Saints Aid Family fun day. (More details to follow)

We have been in talks for 2 weeks with Saints event management team and music Production managers. We tried to see if we could use the pitch. We had some bigger bands lined up for this. Capacity would of gone up to 15,000 and with the bands we had lined up for a bigger show, we though we would sell a minimum of 12K.

A massive stage, lighting, sound and even pitch covers and transport for them were all organizers. However after everything looking good we came across a stumbling block in the way of a 21 day planning order (******).

This is part of the reason that we have held back on the ticket release .date

So, because we have 30+ bands wanting to pledge their support to Saints, we are going to hold the event over 3 days and maybe 5 venues.

Simon are you able to say who you had lined up??????

21 days planning application is a joke. Bloody councils!!!

Indeed. And, yet, if a group of "travellers" pitched up on the SMS car park the council would take years to remove them....

Not really.

We were in talks with other (non saints related) Bands but didn't peruse them when we knew the pitch was a no go!

Do you know when it's planned to publish what time slots each band has been allocated?

Cheers

I believe Glynn & Colin are working on that now. I'll publish What band are playing at what venue as soon as I know.

If they are so precious I doubt it will be a problem, if they are really saints fans they'd understand Id have thought. I still am surprised that they did not get a response though, my experience was 1 of enthusiasm.

I have mentioned 2 bands to Simon on here and the band I know who are defo playing had no problems and a prompt reply.

We have put the date back already.

If we did put it back 21 days this would of fell on the same day the pitch being reseeded.

We could always ask Claus to pay for the re-seeding. Ah, hang on, not such a good idea - Rupert "£100k" Lowe already got him to pay for that last year.....;)

How can we afford to reseed the pitch when 1 we can't guarantee we will even exist next season and 2 we can't even afford a pot to **** in at the moment!!!

Where will the money go?

"All revenue generated will go directly to Southampton Football Club, to help stave of liquidation, for a few more weeks.

Should the club be bought or it's circumstances change before the night of the concert, it is our intention to use all proceeds raised to purchase season tickets and distribute them to schools, hospitals and childrens charities within the area."

The money goes to the club! How stupid can you get! The administrator will continue with his dutch auction until every last penny is gone, therefore any money you give to the club delays the takeover. Count me out.
