If we're talking articulate, passionate about football and ex-Saints related, what about Graham Le Saux? Did he ever do his badges etc?

I dont think he is inspiring enough

Yes, with Robbie Fowler as his assistant...

I'd take Cotterill as our manager any day of the week.

I feel he's been waiting for this job ever since he left Burnley.

Watching on the Big League Weekend on Sky, where he's a regular guest, I find him to be very knowledgeable of the lower leagues which will be an essential asset for any manager that wants to be successful in League One.

While Redknapp and Woodward were together I had a conversation with an associate of woodward's and he said they were lining up Cotterill to coach alongside woodward - that was a while back and most of the decision makers are gone now

Yes I know it is - I misread the OP and now have an omelette on my face big stylee

But Steve Coppell would be OK wouldn't he :D

Steve Coppell has the charisma of a cardboard cut-out of Steve Coppell.

If anything it would be have been Cotterill to work alongside Redknapp not Woodward - he's Harry's man.

Redknapp and Cotterill go back a long way and Stevie wasn't far off from going into Pompey as Harry's number two a while back. Redknapp often had very good things to say about Cotterill and made a point about mentioning the good work he did at Burnley when Spurs played them in the league cup this season.

Anyway, more than happy to have him at Saints. Cotterill that is. Redknapp is a c***.

More like 'That was a while back and the only decision maker has gone now.'

I know this may be controversial, but I would like to see Dennis Wise here.

He did really well with Leeds in League 1 before leaving to go to Newcastle.

That was all Poyet's work. Check Wise's results after Poyet left Leeds.

Cotterill was sacked by Burnley despite a good start.

Mixed record, unsure about him. Could do worse though.

Neat summing up.

Still would prefer the more ambitious appointment of Paul Ince if he were about. But I'd embrace any Brit manager who understood the leagues... just get Wotte out.

.. would also fit in with what someone else mentioned on here a couple of days ago. They quoted redkrapp as saying that he knew what was going on with regards to the take over saying " We would be alright"

Ince being ambitious doesn't necessarily make him any good, and I personally don't think he is that good.

Just my opinion though.

i went and saw a few millwall's games during wises time there and to be honest he was doing a great job. cup final and probable playoff place until they took their eye off the league for said cup run

could be said he had built on mcghee's legacy, but either way, they were playing great football, enjoying success and without poyet anywhere in sight

Need someone who knows the lower leagues and can use the loan system with plenty of contacts. Look what Gary Johnson has done and the like of Pulis some of the better known names have not achieved anything near people like these.

I don't see why choosing someone who has done well in the lower leages is not ambitious. We are div 1 now and any manager who has shown enough nous as (Tisdale) should in my opinion be among runners for the job.
