so22saint Posted 29 April, 2009 Posted 29 April, 2009 I heard a rumour that thousands of fans would come coming flooding back to Saint Mary's once Lowe was gone... I thought 10,000 did?
londonsaint1604 Posted 29 April, 2009 Posted 29 April, 2009 I thought 10,000 did? You must be thinking of when we played Manchester United. Lowe was still here then.
Stu Man Do Posted 29 April, 2009 Posted 29 April, 2009 You must be thinking of when we played Manchester United. Lowe was still here then. QPR (last home game under Lowe) 18,691 Charlton (first game in admin) 27,228 Crystal Palace (H) 23,220 Burnley (H)23,972 Whatever way you want to look at it between 5-9000 people came back to games once Lowe was gone, although obviously some of them were more in a want to help the club out sorta way.

Manchester United - 31,901 Nottingham Forest - 26,580 Charlton was £15 a ticket, Palace was kids for a quid and it was well known we had to get as many people as possible in for Burnley or there wouldn't be a club by now. Sadly it seems that actually watching Manchester United was more important than keeping Saints alive. Whatever way you look at it thousand people didn't come back because Lowe had gone. They came back because it was cheap tickets and their last chance to save Southampton.
Smirking_Saint Posted 29 April, 2009 Posted 29 April, 2009 For christ sake lets not go down the saints fans not being here crap again, we are at the arse end of the championship if you can't really see that Manure was always going to out sell pretty much any other game you are very very deluded.
ghq Posted 30 April, 2009 Posted 30 April, 2009 Not even remotely funny . I wouldn't wish Lowe on anybody, Pompey included I had a good think about that and you're right,I have to say.

new_zealand_saint Posted 30 April, 2009 Posted 30 April, 2009 Harry Redknapp to become Saints boss next season when we get taken over

Making the Man U game attendance 58,481
