hypochondriac Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 I have just been told about Tom Scott having something to do with this. This info comes from the owner of the Jolly Farmer pub.
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Nothing on any site, SSN ticker tape, their tabs that give news from all sport. No-one else has said they have seen it, we would have had a race to see who could post it first, normally with 3 or 4 being started at the same time. I have listened to Talk Sport for the last 3 hrs in the car back from Leeds ( Passing the Skate team bus) not a word. Me thinks it maybe someone trying to leak a smoke screen ?
eelpie Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Moura Brings us back to the Monaco connection.... He looks like Alan Whicker

OldNick Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 The stadium (as has been pointed out time and time again but some people are a bit hard of thinking it seems) is worthless as housing land being built, as it is, on an ex gas works site. The land isn't worth the money it would take to knock the stadium down!Shusssssssh, I have got it sold to an American as Wembley stadium to go alongside London bridge they bought one time

A well informed publican? pig's might fly. I mean they're usually well informed but what they share with the customers usually isn't.

Clapham Saint Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 I dont buy this land backed asset strip idea. There is a huge land bank available to buy at the moment without much interest. If we could sell all 3 bits (Marchwood, Jacksons Farm & the stadium) I would be surprised in the current climate to raise much more than £5m (happy to be proved wrong) & that ignores any fixed creditors that we have to pay a percentage back too. Neither do I. The company is in administration. If all you are interested in is Jackson's farm or Staplewood make an offer for those. Mr Fry has no obligation to sell them all together as a single package. Buying and then discarding a football team (that it looks as though others are interested in too) just as a premium on the land seems a bit ott, especially given the currently low and falling property values.

I stand corrected, it was on SSN just now ...Ben Steele and Quinten Hubbard were the names mentioned. It came from Mark Fry ...
Saint_Jonny Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Are we ready to dseclare this story bull**** yet as there appears to be no viable evidence?
saints_is_the_south Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 I stand corrected, it was on SSN just now ...Ben Steele and Quinten Hubbard were the names mentioned. It came from Mark Fry ... Any other info/news?

aintforever Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Are we ready to dseclare this story bull**** yet as there appears to be no viable evidence? It's been on Sky Sports News, which is a step further than the Paul Allen episode, and some people still believe that one.
egreog Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 As usual with Saints........all p*** and wind!.......no substance........
Frank's cousin Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 .... must admit this is ....underwhelming...
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Any other info/news? No Nothing, I have run the names through a couple of channels open to me... nothing comes up ... could this be brinkmanship by Mark Fry ? it may force others into making a decision.
CB Fry Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 (edited) It's been on Sky Sports News, which is a step further than the Paul Allen episode, and some people still believe that one. No it isn't. The Paul Allen story was everywhere, including a full page (page three, yes I can remember) in the news section of the Guardian. Yes it turned out to be garbage, of course, but lets not pretend it didn't get a hell of a lot of media coverage. It wasn't a creation of this forum. Edit - Put "Paul Allen Southampton" into Google and look through the results including the Daily Mail, the BBC, the Guardian, Reuters, countless American Newspaper sites and then the comments, blogs etc arising from the original story. Then put the names of these two geezers in and nothing, so far. I'm not judging these two guys but lets not pretent they have achieved anything like the coverage that the PA story did. Frank's cousin Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Without knowing the financial backers it is too early to say! True, will be interesting to see if this has legs and what it will mean for the other serious parties/party - will it force their hand?

hypochondriac Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 s**t pub Alan Ball used to like it. As I said, I don't drink there so the merits of the pub aren't really up for debate.

I don't remember seeing the Paul Allen thing on TV though, plus there was never anything concrete at all, all the stories were just re-hashes of the first one. My point was that this news has been out 5mins, and it's already on TV so chances are there is more substance to it.
