Just done a director check at work Quentin Murray Hubbard currently director of 5 dissolved companies, 1 in liquidation and director of Restdale Estates Ltd in Cheltenham Gloucs.

Company suffered a loss last year.

Tied up with a Stephen John Addison.

All I can find so far.

Oh sh!t not another retirement home proprietor moving into football.

Remember the last t0sser who gave up the 'Granny farms' for football.

Neither is on the Sunday Times Rich List, but that's probably expecting too much anyway!

I guess beggars can't be choosers, but I really did hope we'd attract someone with a bit of financial clout (given rumours of a "household name" being involved in one of the consortia).

Is the rich list just UK's richest or worldwide? It is just that they could be foreign nationals and so their wealthi s not listed.Just a thought

Some guy on facebook reckons a takeover will be completed in 24 hours and that this is according to the news that SSN are reporting. Anybody watching that can confirm they've said anything remotely like this?

SSN said Saints' were "hopeful" of a deal within the next 24 hours and there could be further developments today.

Just heard the report and all it really said was that he was holding talks with them today.

I would guess that they are this 3rd bidder that has suddenly appeared and playing catch up with the other two, although they did say there may be some more news later today.

I think it may be the channel island links making everyone nervous for obvious reasons.

Oh wouldn't worry about that, anyone who's got cash has links to some offshore island paradise or other, if you rest onshore, well you usually don't have any money left, unless of course you're very astute with your tax returns, especially under New Labour's system of tax and spend and when you've spent everything borrow and spend some more, then tax some more.

It's UK - which should include Jersey/Guernsey - and includes UK residents like Mittal (#1) and Abramovich (#2) who aren't British (least I don't think Mittal is).

Also does a list of the 50 richest in the world, but that's obviously just the mega big hitters like Paul Allen (#36 in the world, £7.3bn).

If they were real big boys they'd be on here, not to say they aren't still significantly wealthy. Other names linked with us (in the past) are Gavyn Davies #600 (£90m) and Rod Stewart (yes, I know?!?!?), #540 (£100m).

Is still showing as a director on our credit checking systems and the ones we use for checking directors, host of CCJ's linked as well.

Just looked restdale up on FAME and date resigned was 02/11/2004. All other companies dissolved 2000-03 except Quibec which is in liquidation (application made 30/11/2007)

I've done a check of marriage records and found that

Quinten M Hubbard married Rebecca (won't mention surname here) in South Warwickshire 2000.

This fits in Quinten's wife being Becky the hockey lady.

Thank goodness you found that out...I don't know where we'd be without you - that's really exposed everything. LOL.

Oh God, and an interest in hockey, too?

My conspiracy theory is coming along nicely

Until we get further information I don't think we should draw any conclusions TBH.

As Steve and other posters have said, while these two may not be anyones first choice if it's a question of insolvency or these two fellas I know what I'd prefer.

Anything but insolvency!

I think you'll find that, having entered the bidding at a later date, this info has been released in order to force the hand of certain others. Whilst they must have the funds to purchase, fry wouldn't let a bigger, better offer fall by the wayside... Imho of course.

My thoughts too....

Perhaps they've been 'engaged' by Fry and Co as a sort of 'pacemaker' to speed up the race between the two 'real deal' front runners?

You know, a bit like the geezer who runs the first 6 miles of the marathon to try and get a world record for the race organiser's prestige?

For the less bright amongst us, the above seems to link Quentin Murray Hubbard with Beck Hubbard and hence with the property developer in Guernsey. Maybe our man is not all that successful.
