apparently Sky were averted by the candidates themselves.

Latest theory is that it was just a couple of likely lads looking for a bit of free publicity.Publicity seeking TKs if you like.

household name? does that mean harpic is back in the frame?

Has he/her/they been mentioned on this thread yet? cheers

What industry sector are they in? Retail? Finance?

cheers

Don't think he has been mentioned on here the backers are financial.

It's a public company, perfectly legit but it's the fact that a lot of the money would be borrowed.

If it's that or bust then it's a no brainer.

I suspect any deal is going to involve an element of borrowed money - depends how much, who from and what the repayment structure is.

Hopefully the benefit now is that no institution will lend to us based on on anything other than League 1 revenue streams therefore it should be serviceable and if we do go back up there will be an upside in terms of additional revenue.

Who's had any luck looking into The Farmers thread last night??

-------

I've made a couple of phone calls following the info I received this morning to try and put some names to the people/companies involved. As far as I can make out there is a Southampton based property agency called Pinnacle who have sponsored local charity golf events featuring Le Tiss.

Reading between the lines, and this maybe pure coincidence, but this same company also look after a few London property owners (big hitters) who have been spending money like its going out of fashion lately and who also have strong links with another administrator that they've bought at least 2 properties/concerns from.

I've been trying to confirm these details with a contact of MLT's but apparently Matt's playing golf in the West Country. But I am reliably informed that this proposal does have Matts implicit support.

As for this 'consortium', as far as I can tell there are only actually only 2 or 3 clients they look after!!!

Sounds like an ideal set up for Saints fans to get behind.

Anybody know any more??

Couldn't find anything that related to an Agency in Southampton called Pinnacle, I therefore thought it was BS and moved on

If it's good enough for Man Utd...

If we had 75000 at every game plus their marketing, Tv, and sponsorship it would be sustainable.

We don't know who the manager is, who the players will be, how many will go to div one matches, etc, etc.

Sir Philip Green's name has been touted on here. He's in retail. He lives in Monaco. Stuff that's been the subject of recent rumours.

Oh and he's good friends with Bill Kenwright.

It's supposedly a well-known fact that successful businessmen realise their success on borrowed money rather than on their own money.

Could it be Sir Philip Green? Would the team have to have 'Burton' on their shirts? After all, we've gone for one :)

Sorry Ruth, it's the source that is in retail. The person is a household name, the backers a large financial institution. There has been rumours but the person who told me isn't a Saints fan.

I won't post it, but I would back it. Even though I have concerns. I suppose a large element of any bid would be borrowed in any event.

As per my tip, the best I can say, he is one of those mentioned on here. I'm not saying who it is, in case it confirms I am an idiot.

I'll have a stab, Jamie Redknapp, dodgy Greek money with the candlestick.

On second thoughts I think it's the bloke Ken Bates described as a "d*ckhead" He would tick a lot of boxes in the guessing game.

Got to be him or him providing the money, Jamie Redknapp could be a possible though.

check this out, another Pinnacle at the same address as the financial company??

I googled Pinnacle last night - didn't find that one but found one in Reading (wasn't that new company Southampton Football Ltd in Reading too?).

The other Pinnacles I found were all over the place, England, Wales, US - I wonder if it's a franchise :smt102

'Your' Pinnacle was only incorporated in June last year

That's a pretty good guess. My conflicting answers were from different threads, and correct. It's the alleged backers that give me a concern. I can't confirm either is true.

I found a pinnacle and a lady pinnacle golf ball this week. It's a major golf ball brand.

:D

I should have been less economical with my description.

The Pinnacles I was referring to were all linked to property / development.

So keegan is what your source said? It ties in with what duncan suggested the other day unless you told him that?

So, St David's mate 'Kelso Kev' was right 2 years ago when he'd heard that KK was spotted in the SMS car park?

I did, but he had heard that somewhere else. It's the naming of the alleged backers that I find interesting and a bit concerning.

So we're being bought by Jim Beam then, or Gallachers fags? Cant see it myself.

Any clue on them to get us started? Are they going to turn sms and the surrounding area into a crazy golf range?
