Talking of The Guardian I had no idea that pasting articles was illegal especially when they are freely available online.

 

If that is the case and it puts this site at risk then it's fair enough that we are told.

 

What I find ridiculous is the heavy handed Administrator on here who not content with just pointing out the fact, threatens infractions (using bold type of course).

 

Nothing like being in a position of power and throwing your weight around is there? I expect it made him feel good though.

If you're talking about Baj's thread at the top of the page then you might want to consider that as the owner of the forum he is liable if the forum is sued. I would suggest therefore that he is perfectly entitled to threaten (and impose) infractions if people reproduce information on here that is copyrighted, in the same way he is entitled to infract people who type libellous comments.
