If Rupert returns..

Ok to give a reference to Ebbsfleet, the club is run by a chairman and a CEO. They were appointed by 'the operator' which is the team that set up MyFC. The society (members) elect a board that represent them. In effect the club is run like any other club except rather than an individual calling the shots it is 15,000. So the CEO and chairman run the club for the owners who decide how the club is run.

Only if the club goes under.

We shouldn't start planning things now, we may well get bought by a billionaire tomorrow....

We have to start planning now, league applications have to be in within the next month.

If anyone can provide a free of charge venue for a meeting would be great, any landlords on here with a space they could give us.

Well it'd be a bit stupid forming a team now when we don't need to.

We can always wait a year and form the team for the 10/11 season.

Rupert's possible return is the least of our worries, tbh. If he came in with his own men and money then surely it would be an indicator that he's all about the club and not the shareholders? Don't get me wrong, he's fouled up plenty, but I think he's always been genuine when he's claimed to have the interests of the club at heart. I'm not a subscriber to the "he's only in it for the money" theory.

in many ways that makes it worst , i could maybe forgive the co*k ups if it had been for the money but " interests of club at heart" then surely the same ones will be repeated as in the past

No ones forming a team, just getting together to discuss the idea, then atleast if needed we'd be in a position to move.

And waiting a year would be a bad idea, by then we've all found something else to do with our saturdays like shopping with the misses in IKEA

First of all, any team formed while Southampton FC is in existence couldn't start in the Blue Square Premier as there would be no vacancy. It would have to start much further down the pyramid. Maybe the Hampshire Premier League would accept Southampton 1885 however without a team, ground or money to guarantee fulfilment of fixtures even that's a long shot.

But in my view starting a new club while we still have the old one is asking for trouble. We wouldn't be in a Wimbledon situation where the old club disowned it's past or even an FC United situation where the team is only popular because Man Utd fans can support a "United" team without the cost of going to Old Trafford. The closest parallel would be to Enfield where a splitter team took about most of the support both both clubs are below the league that the old club was at.

I would support a new Southampton club in a heartbeat if the old club died, but while the old one is alive it deserves our support even if Lowe was in charge.

Yes I know, but Docker is talking about setting up another club if Lowe takes over Saints again.

Not the same scenario at all.

You would have to start in whatever league you could get into - that will depend on a vote of the member clubs - I would envisage that subject to ground grading criteria you would be looking at something like the lowest division of the Rymans league. Incidentally when AFC Wimbledon tried to get into the Rymans a few years back they didn't get sufficent support but the Combined Counties accepted them.

Ground grading wouldn't be a problem if you were playing at St Marys! but thats not likely you would probably end up with a ground share arrangement with someone like Eastleigh or Totton acting as the landlord.

There's no way you would get into the BSP or the BSS not if there was another Southampton being operated by Woopert

...who is with me setting up Southampton 1885. We may be able to start in the Blue Square league next season. We'll play in Red and White stripes and be nicknamed the 'Saints'.

1000 shares each priced at £500. No one individual allowed to own more than four shares.

If the City council buys the stadium all the better as we could use it alongside Ruperts club.

yes

You mean by always going against sound sensible solid FOOTBALLING advice, from established Football people ????

Like .... Ditching Pearson, Going Dutch, Ditching experienced goalscorers, Going for youth, etc, etc .....

..... yes, he's always put the interests of the Club at heart hasn't he ...... had Barclays NOT pulled the plug re the Overdraft, he would still be with us, still looking forward to life in Div1, but STILL with us

If he gets back again, after all that, then Barclays role in all this would have to be seriosly looked at IMHO
