Fitzhugh Fella Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 is a name I heard on the breeze at SMS yesterday - does anyone know what he is up to these days?
thorpie the sinner Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 Last time I heard his name, it was sorting out tickets for spurs! apart from that, nothing!
70's Mike Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 was he not tied up with Hoddle, dalek will be getting exited
slickmick Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 What did you hear ? New manager ? If so, is takeover close ?

Don't know of he was there yesterday but I think he is a Saints fan having seen him at many games before - I believe he is also a good friend of Lowe. I hope FF that if there is any connection the breeze turns into a hurricane and blows him far from SMS.
slickmick Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 Durr...just realised I was getting Roach and Rofe mixed up . Who's Dennis Roach ?
TNT Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 He used to be a regular at Saints in the Prem days and i think lives in Mudeford ?
Saint in Paradise Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 Not this bloke then ?? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/newcastle/3009694/FA-charge-agent-Roach.html
northam soul Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 He has lined up Hoddle to own the club with Rupert as our new head coach.
iansums Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 I believe he is the money behind two new 'Gary Rhodes' restaurants in Christchurch and also a large development of luxury flats. I also believe he is/was Glenn Hoddle's agent. Would not be surprising if he was involved in some way with a bid.
rooney Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 His picture is always in the "Compass" at some charity do in Bournemouth

Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 This ties in with a post I read last week, regarding Redknapp on the golf course. Something along the lines of "Saints will be ok, someone I know is buying them".
OldNick Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 strangely I had a rumour given to me earlier in the season that Svens G.E agent (I cant remember the agents name, it was his sidekick) had a consortium after us. If it is Roach I dont think he is that loaded to push us far

thefuriousb Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 Also, Dennis Roach, as Hoddle's agent, gave him some seriously bad advice when trying secure his release from his role as head coach and enable Hoddle to take over at Spurs. He basically told Hoddle to stay where he was on holiday and not return until the club had granted him permission to talk to spurs.
Junction 9 Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 Remember that thing he used to do before the game on the mic? Quite funny I thought. Always wore a t-shirt no matter how cold it was.

We must have forgiven him as he was asked to get hold of Redknapp for us when they decided to give Wigley the boot. Met him and have to say he was the stereotypical football agent.

LOL Off topic but just back from Saints Ladies match in Milton Keynes, a double header won both, 3-2 and 6-0 & daughter got two. Thought it might be of interest as you were involved on arranging sponsorship for them a while back.

Absolutely, if can't think of a nicer place to live, love Mudeford. If I ever come back down south, that's where I'm heading.

He also represents Gordon Strachan and George Burley, amongst others. He's a former international swimmer, and like most of the tp-line agents, started out in showibz circles. His first sportig clients, if my memory serves me correctly, were Duncan Goodhew and Sharon Davies.

I do have a look in on their website from time to time (also fun to read TT's American stories LOL), but Granty should take most of the credit for arranging the sponsorship (along with a couple of others). Understand they're doing alright this year.

Understand they're doing alright this year. Yes - last season was disastrous & most of the older ones have since left, so this year is made up of younger players brought through the youth teams. We had a bit of a dodgy spell recently but are back on track and are aiming for a second place spot which isn't bad for a new and young team. The team have also made it through to the League Cup Final v Havant and Waterlooville on 17th May. TT's reports on Saints in the Colonies always makes good reading. http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/southamptonsaintslgfc/?
