It mentions the week-end reports linking Scott and Lowe but does not say that Lowe is not involved at all ...... worryingly!
Victor Posted 27 April, 2009 Posted 27 April, 2009 Surely, would not 'due dilligence' reveal that the said Rupert Lowe once was the incompetent chairman of a failed company that acted as a front for a football club (flagrantly in violation of the clearly set out rules of the league within which it operated)? If so, he would therefore be judged not to be a 'fit and proper person' and his bid would be excluded.

Lowe would have too many barriers to overcome, and too many other people will be fighting to ensure that all the dirty laundry is kept hidden so he keeps the blame. He is too useful as the fall-guy for too many entrenched interests, not least of which will likely include his old proxy buddies. The "old boy network" can work both ways

Although, as we know - out of the thousands of letters (of complaint) he'd pick the one that tells him he's doing a good job (doubtless from Jonah or 19Canteen/GuidedMissile) and wave that around as some sort of mandate to carry on his "good work". Wonder what state we'd have to be in for him to admit we weren't doing well - perhaps SMS in a pile of rubble? Mind, that'd probably be blamed on Crouch or the fans too...

We can get back on track with SCW and Clifford with sports science and their advanced coaching techniques which just were not given a fair chance first time around. And we can carry on with revolutionary management, which was just financially unlucky this season. Given a few more months, the Academy conveyor belt will get back to where it was and resume producing the starlets we were getting so used to seeing in quantity.

Andoverian Posted 27 April, 2009 Posted 27 April, 2009 Calm down people - we're all going to die of Swine flu imported from Mexico anyway, so what's the point in worrying? :-( That would be definately preferable than the return of Lowe. There was a time when it would have been unthinkable for someone as devisive and universally hated as Lowe to get back in but I have been absolutely amazed what has happenned in recent years and nothing would surprise me now. I can only say that if Lowe comes back in any capacity I vow that I will never set foot in St Marys again and that is coming from someone who has an unbroken period as a supporter home and away of over 55 years. If a future consortium is reading these posts please take my threat seriously because make no mistake there are many many thousands of fans who would take the same action as me. You have been warned!
