OTT?

Be interesting to read views from the 'pitch invaders' which looking at the video appeared to be more than half the ground..

If I’d had to watch that heartless bunch of Dutch cr4p all season, I’d have liked the opportunity to show my feelings,

Disgraceful, watched it from block 38, Kingsland Corner, the police dogs were an over reaction, the atmosphere was good with the majority enjoying the game and the spirit shown by the team.

Hope that the fans who ran on realise the game had'nt actually finished, we had a player done,(Spoke with JPS outside after the game who said Wotton didn't look to pretty!) so that'll be a fine and n investigation, that should really help any appeal against the 10 points.

As for stealing signs, breaking hoardings, the stewards seats well it wasn't the last game at the ground hopefully, yes most took a piece of the Dell home on the last game but those fans have stolen from the club, a club that had buckets out for money, money that will now be needed for repairs!

Hope the first guy on in the yellow shirt from the Kingsland gets a life ban, before that the atmosphere was one of resignation , but i still wanted to give the team my support with them doing the traditonal lap of the stadium and that was denied me, my father and my daugther. None of us were able to say thank you by way of applause to the players who today I felt showed the right spirit.

If the FL reject the appeal, and decide because we have no money to pay a fine and decide to levy a further points deduction it won't seem so clever to be one of the first 10 on the pitch then will it ?

Not justifying anything but I think the ref had blown up, the benches were shaking hands and the linesmen were coming onto the pitch.

So let me get this right. Certain people are quite happy to stay in their seat but because the nasty policeman cam along with his doggy they all thought it made it a good idea to storm the pitch. Superb.

And to all the people smashing up the advertising hoardings and whatever else they could get their hands on as souveniers, are you completely f ucking stupid? THe club is skint, broke, and you go and cost it more money. Inspired. Morons.

It wasnt clear though, but I think you're right. Either way I wouldnt be surprised if we lose more points for this action by the fans. We are currently regarded as cheats for trying to pull a fast one over the 10 point deduction by the FA, who I am sure will relish imposing further penalty on us to bring us back into line.

some of you need to calm down a bit, there were hundreds on the pitch old men,old ladies, kids, families a bloke in a wheelchair most were just wandering around and taking photos,i took a few photos of my boy sat on the bench etc and thats what the majority were doing.

i didnt witness any violence just a few bottles being thrown, most people i spoke to were in good spirits considering our situation, and were doing exactly the same as me,taking a few photos and wandering around chatting to fellow supporters.

it might be illegal to run onto the pitch and if the league wanted to they could punish us blah blah blah but you could have said exactly the same about last seasons pitch invasion and all of the other pitch invasions that happen around the country at this time of year.

jeez some of you need to get out more.

It would be pretty unprecedented for a club to get a points deduction for crowd trouble but I guess you never know with Mawhinney and his cronies watching our every move.

Lordswood - if all the Saints fans on the pitch had been doing what you were doing, there wouldn't be an outcry. You probably couldn't see the scale of what was going on in from of the Burnley fans - you may well feel differently when you've seen the tv footage.

If Saints had shown just 10% of the passion and commitment of our young fans on the pitch at the end of the game, we certainly wouldn't have been relegated to League 1.

i sit in block 34 in the kingsland and the whistle had gone, the lads that were standing in the concourse came around from the northam as i know most of them and it wouldnt have mattered if you were first or last on the pitch, breaking the law is breaking the law so they will have to ban about about 5000 fans, something which i dont think the club can afford to do.

im proud to say me and the boy were in the first 10 on the pitch,i didnt go to the burnley fans but went straight over to wotton and euell to let them know i was pleased with their display today and they should be proud at the way they played.

i think some of you are going over the top about the pitch invasion, give it a rest, the fans like myself who have been here week in week out through this sh1tty season deserve a bit of a release.

i have no time for police and they certainly didnt help the situation today, once again it seems their intelligence was wrong as by the looks of it they were ready for some big trouble.

No time for the police?? Yeah right, Until somebody aggrieves you, then you'll be squeeling for their help. Grow up you fukkin Muppett!

Passion and commitment?! They ran on the pitch to act the goat, play hard boy, steal some souvenirs and goad the Burnley fans. That's not passion and commitment. That's being a bunch of morons. Anybody who agrees with what happened needs banning. What a great advert to our prospective new owners. Idiots.

Points deduction? Please, don't make me laugh!!!!

A few people invaded the pitch and goad the away fans, happens all the time.

I am not saying it's right, but calm down people.

By most of your reckoning half a dozen teams will be getting points deducted after today.

Wolves fans invaded the pitch at Barnsley... and confronted Barnsley fans... I wonder if they will get points deducted?

Thing that annoyed me was that there were a few mentions of going on the pitch etc during the game but i didn't think enough people would do it for it to take effect. And then around the 87th minute an army of stewards and police dog handlers came out and everybody suddenly thought "they must be expecting a pitch invasion, might as well do it". I don't think if it had been the normal number of stewards people would have really contemplated invading, so well done to the police for that.

Once people were on i started to walk down but after i got to the bottom of the steps i just sat on the advertising hoardings and watched as smoke bombs/coins/bottles were exchanged between fans and the police dogs, for a second season running, were completely useless.

Couldn't see any point in it whatsoever, but the burnley fans were complete *****s thoughout the game so the confrontation was to be expected.

did anything happen to derby when we played them in the play offs? i didnt witness what some of you said you saw today but i would imagine it was on a par with what the derby fans did to us back then and what about the WBA and pompey mass love in on the pitch a few years ago when we were relegated?

Link to comment

No gossip or rumour, just what I saw -

Stupid behaviour by a small section of home fans, throwing missiles was pointless and did the club harm.

I also saw aggressive policing that escalated events - you don't calm a situation by making the call to deploy officers en masse and dogs, lining them up facing the Northam, it was an aggressive action.

I had no interest in invading and had no part in any of the crass activity that followed, I was with the majority who had a quiet walk around, but I was insulted by the way that the police laid down that marker, and in the current climate it was a poor decision.

They already have enough cases to defend without looking for trouble.

I saw a smoke bomb thrown from the Burnley section, and then returned.

Whether it came from the pitch initially I don't know, I first saw it exit the away end, but who takes a smoke bomb to a match?

Not a great day for the minority who couldn't find anyone relevant to aim their anger at, but there is no place for the lunatic few at our club and if this type of behaviour went on at away games next season our reputation would be shot to bits.

Rather than 'proud Saints going down with massive support' it would be easy for the media to turn it into 'angry supporters fighting the police as Saints go down in shame' etc.

Big over reaction.

The atmosphere only turned nasty once the police suddenly appeared on the perimeter with the dogs. Up until then everything was fine but all of a sudden faced with snarling dogs and "pumped up " police in riot gear it gave those looking for trouble the perfect excuse.

Yes what happened afterwards was needless but was a handbags situation that had it happened in the 70s would not have warranted a comment.

It was an emotional day, emotions spilled over - its been a long frustrating season -as far as I know no one was hurt, so lets not us get our knickers in a twist.

I had a grandstand view and it was a significant number of Saints 'fans' who charged towards the Burnley supporters that started the problems. If they had stayed away from the away supporters it would not have kicked off. The guy that was down on the ground had it coming to him as he tried to charge through the police line and was taken down by a policeman.

I think the scenes were disgraceful frankly and sickening. But the worst for me was a middle aged woman who ran from the pitch, was allowed to run all the way up the Itchen stand to the barriers just in front the boxes and hit two other women who were in the box next to us. Yes, this woman had a Saints shirt on. She was shouting, swearing and complaining about the people in the boxes not paying for ST's, whereas all the 'proper' fans had paid for their tickets.

I am afraid today that womans actions and the rest of the yobs on the pitch, left a very sour taste in my mouth...witnessing THAT was far worse than relegation to league one. Disgusting.

Said woman did not hit anyone. She was having a go at the jumped up little cun sat inthe directors box swearing at our fans. Saying that i gave the board what for after the game. Mortimer really is a smug **** as is richards.

They're idiots, but then every club has them (derby away in the play offs?), i just didn't want people going over the top about this and blaming it all on saints fans. There were plenty on the pitch with no bad intentions at all, including kids, families and even blind people!

Personally i think it's a disgrace that the police had unmuzzled dogs out in a place where kids where

So what exactly is a muzzled dog used for?

If it's available then use it surely. It ain't going to bite anyone in the stands is it?

This thread as usual smacks of 'it's someone else's fault' like so many in society there is a refusal to accept the consequence of ones actions.

You invade a pitch and the Police don't want you to, then expect a reaction be it baton or canine.

Personally i'd be more concerned about the poor mongrel catching something from biting some of the mongs attending SMS of late.

I'd say the Derby incident was more serious to be honest, or could have had the potential to be if our fans weren't so mentally deflated after the shoot-out and most just couldn't be arsed with aggro at that point due to what had just happened.

I agree, i'm sure the rain lashed down about fifteen minutes after the final whistle and I had no choice but to drive home naked with clothes across my legs....never seen rain come down like that in such a short time.

What happened at the end surprised me simply because the atmosphere in the Northam hadn't really been an angry one, passionate yes, but not really agressive. Wierd.

I agree. Weird. But the entire atmosphere in the Northam turned very sour when the rozzers brought on their dogs. Talk about how to antagonize passionate fans who have just seen their club relegated. There was no reason to have the dogs on the pitch. Useless policing, made the situation much worse. And then as we were leaving, peacefully and with out incident, the police were standing their videoing us. What ****ing right do they have to film me going about my lawful business. Oh, and this **** sucking fascist government has actually made it illegal for us to film them!! Couldn't make it up. Shame on the police.

And as for all the old grannies on here whingeing about the pitch invasion, perhaps if you had actually gone on to the pitch as well you would have seen most people taking pictures of the stadium, applauding and 'celebrating' the end of the season. The yoof who squared up to the Burnley lot were not the brightest and best that Saints fan base has to offer, for sure, but keep things in perspective FFS. Calling them scum is just as childish as lobbing a half-empty coke bottle at each other. Oh, and the flare DID originate from the Burnley fans.

"On the pitch" started long before the dogs appeared.

I think the dogs were a mistake and shouldn't have been deployed at that point, as it was obvious there would be a pitch invasion regardless.

The Plod should have congregated aroubd the Burnely fans to ward of the thick idiots who thought it would be funny to run over there.

Regardless of the Plod's errors or otherwise, I have nothing but contempt for the pathetic, mostly spineless, leeches that ran over there (and back again - pathetic ****s). You are ****.

I have to say that we are in enough sh!t with the football league, you could see from the ref that he was under orders, 1 offence ref takes the name of a Saint whereas the Burnley players could multi offend before the ref took their name. We had 5 bookings so we have already incurred a further fine to drain the resources.

But everyone knows that the authorities take a dim view on pitch invasions but a bunch of dullards decide that it would be a wheeze and then compound matters by goading the Burnley fans. If we get further penalised I doubt those who started the rush onto the pitch will give a flying ****. The fact that Wotton was laying on the pitch requiring major medical attention and was being surrounded by dinlows from the crowd.

Jeez we have some ****wits supporting Saints, sadly the division we are going into have some teams who have some followers with form so it will be interesting to see how brave some of our fans actually are.
