St Landrew Posted 30 August, 2008 Posted 30 August, 2008 Hmm, 4 Premiership teams will be out of the competition after this round is played. This competition could be worth a real shot at. Semi-Finals anyone..?
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 30 August, 2008 Posted 30 August, 2008 We'll be lucky to beat Rotherham after that dismal effort today.
Papa Shango Posted 30 August, 2008 Posted 30 August, 2008 Rubbish draw. Long midweek away trip that we will probably end up losing. At least it's a new ground for me.
Whitey Grandad Posted 30 August, 2008 Posted 30 August, 2008 Rubbish draw. Long midweek away trip that we will probably end up losing. At least it's a new ground for me. I don't think I'll bother. I went up to Millmoor the last time that they beat us. They play at the Don Valley Stadium now, I believe. It could have been worse. We could have drawn them at SMS.
The9 Posted 30 August, 2008 Posted 30 August, 2008 I wish someone would tell the OS that Rotherham have moved to the Don Valley Stadium, I hope the team ISN'T planning on "making a long midweek trip to Millmoor"... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=10516
VectisSaint Posted 30 August, 2008 Posted 30 August, 2008 Dream draw eh. Still I think I shall attend, never been to football at Rotherham And you won't this year either, they play in Sheffield at the Don Valley Stadium.
saintwarwick Posted 30 August, 2008 Posted 30 August, 2008 Rubbish draw. Long midweek away trip that we will probably end up losing. At least it's a new ground for me. Not for me A new ground for me also.
Arizona Posted 30 August, 2008 Posted 30 August, 2008 I wonder how today's team would have fared against the team that just beat Everton 3-0 at Goodison. A bullet narrowly dodged there I think.
Berkshire Saint Posted 31 August, 2008 Posted 31 August, 2008 Great draw as I'll be back in Sheffield by then.
Dan Posted 31 August, 2008 Posted 31 August, 2008 http://www.footballgroundguide.com/rotherham_united.htm O dear...
Saint Garrett Posted 31 August, 2008 Posted 31 August, 2008 Ill be living in Sheffield then, first week ill be up there !! excellent.
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 31 August, 2008 Posted 31 August, 2008 I'll be there. New ground for me as well.
mack rill Posted 31 August, 2008 Posted 31 August, 2008 I wonder how today's team would have fared against the team that just beat Everton 3-0 at Goodison. A bullet narrowly dodged there I think. You speak for yourself FFS! It looks like another good hiding more than likely on TV:( for us.
Thedelldays Posted 31 August, 2008 Posted 31 August, 2008 You speak for yourself FFS! It looks like another good hiding more than likely on TV:( for us. it is ok...you will get spanked 4-0 and all sing lampards name, ala henry and be seen as the greatest fans in the world (again)
Professor Posted 31 August, 2008 Posted 31 August, 2008 Not a good draw against Rotherham. Although not doing very well in Div 2, Wolves couldn't beat them in the Carling Cup. If Saints win, they will get little credit for it, on the basis that this is a team we should beat easily, and it might need at least 3 clear goals for some people to treat it as a good performance! Neither is the game likely to bring in much income from a 5,000 gate. All that can be said is that we should get past them, with the possibility of a better draw in the next round.
saintmorley Posted 1 September, 2008 Posted 1 September, 2008 i shall be back at sheffield uni then so shall be attending. just relised that they now play in a athletics stadium. shame i say. i was looking forward to the trip to a good traditional ground like millmoor

Only because of the points deduction. They'd be joint top if they didn't start on -17. Agree that it'll be a tough game though.
This Charming Man Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I'm going, all day on the lash in Sheffield... can't wait.
SaintDonkey Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 http://www.footballgroundguide.com/rotherham_united.htm O dear... And we complain about having the corners closed!
JHsaintsfan Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Very happy with the draw - one I think we can win! Father in law is a Rotherham fan so get regular news regarding their progress (or not as the case may be) Financially we look very sound compared to them although they have the makings of a decent team
Oz Posted 3 September, 2008 Posted 3 September, 2008 Well another cup game another victory. Who & where will we play next? Imo anyone at SMS not necessarily, the millers are playing as a top of div 1 team atm. we are playing as bottom of ccc. work it out
Nexstar Posted 3 September, 2008 Posted 3 September, 2008 not necessarily, the millers are playing as a top of div 1 team atm. we are playing as bottom of ccc. work it out They are in league 2. HTH
yorkie Posted 3 September, 2008 Posted 3 September, 2008 Just checked their official site only £10 for adults! When did they move to Don Valley? I remember that awful night in the FA Cup when we played Delgado - he missed hatfuls that night, we were kack too! Just checked my diary - and don't think I can make it due to business commitments! Why oh why Tuesday night? Lets make it Wednesday!
View From The Top Posted 3 September, 2008 Posted 3 September, 2008 I shall be going. It's an easy run up for me.
Sheff Saint Posted 3 September, 2008 Posted 3 September, 2008 Just checked their official site only £10 for adults! When did they move to Don Valley? I remember that awful night in the FA Cup when we played Delgado - he missed hatfuls that night, we were kack too! Just checked my diary - and don't think I can make it due to business commitments! Why oh why Tuesday night? Lets make it Wednesday! Moved in the summer. The owners of Millmoor want to re-develop it for their own commercial uses. That, coupled with them being broke, meant they couldn't afford the rent. A friend of a friend said he's got a ST at Don Valley and that is one of the most depressing places he's ever watched football. It's mostly uncovered and you're a mile from the pitch. I dare say the pitch is a bit ropey as they play Rugby League there as well. Still, a local game is a local game!
southamptonfclegend Posted 3 September, 2008 Posted 3 September, 2008 not necessarily, the millers are playing as a top of div 1 team atm. we are playing as bottom of ccc. work it out he was talking about the birmingham game you **** i.e whyy the post was made before the draw had been anounced silly people
SaintMike Posted 4 September, 2008 Posted 4 September, 2008 A good cup run would be good for the team's confidence even if it is against sides from a lower division. What worries me is the effect on the team's morale if we should lose to a side from a lower division. We have been discussing this on the new site.. http://ohwhenthesaints.forumotion.net/forum.htm Why not add your views there?
Ash Posted 11 September, 2008 Posted 11 September, 2008 Nothing on the OS yet about tickets as far as I can see. Am I missing something? Anyone have any idea about tickets? When they're on sale? Price? How much for a pie? What do the Sheffield ladies of the night charge for a hand shandy? Etc. Etc.
Fowllyd Posted 11 September, 2008 Posted 11 September, 2008 Nothing on the OS yet about tickets as far as I can see. Am I missing something? Anyone have any idea about tickets? When they're on sale? sotonist Posted 11 September, 2008 Posted 11 September, 2008 You speak for yourself FFS! It looks like another good hiding more than likely on TV:( for us. unless everyone rolls over again like last season in the other cup.
Window Cleaner Posted 11 September, 2008 Posted 11 September, 2008 What do the Sheffield ladies of the night charge for a hand shandy? Etc. Etc. From what I remember from the last time I was there, they'll probably pay you for the privilege.
