alpine_saint Posted 24 April, 2009 Posted 24 April, 2009 Well, lets face it, we've never heard of opposition in the board room being stamped out like that when Lowe has been involved before, have we ???
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 24 April, 2009 Posted 24 April, 2009 "Shareholders said that there was a tacit understanding at the time that the consortium bought its stake that a new chief executive would need to be found. " --- that chief executive being one of those mentioned in: " The stockbroker said that both men had informed the board of their plans to vote against the re-election of four other directors at WH Ireland's annual meeting next week. The four directors include Richard Ford, the chief executive, Rupert Lowe, the chairman and Roland Rudd, the chief executive of Finsbury, the City PR firm."
SaintDonkey Posted 24 April, 2009 Posted 24 April, 2009 "WH Ireland, which early last month agreed a £16.2 million takeover of Blue Oar only to abandon the deal 10 days later" When they decided to launch a bid for SLH instead?

I think you've read that wrong - RL is the chairman. It's badly written - there should be a semi-colon after the job title. With Rupert I guess it should be a colon I believe one of the other directors is from Carphone Warehouse. Didn't he do something dodgy with his shares in CPW as collateral (allegedly)? I see Lord Marland is also a director
Mole Posted 24 April, 2009 Posted 24 April, 2009 I sincerely hope Ruperts whole world falls apart around him.
RobM Posted 24 April, 2009 Posted 24 April, 2009 Somebody disagrees with Lowe and he boots them out... can't be the same man, surely?

DaveyR Posted 24 April, 2009 Posted 24 April, 2009 "Mr Lowe is the executive chairman of Southampton Football Club, whose holding company has fallen into administration. He is leading a legal appeal after the administration cost the beleaguered club a ten-point penalty." Interesting part about old Rupes leading the charge against the FL over -10.

Two of his rivals have been ousted, so therefore his position has been strengthened if anything .......... ................bit like when he used to run SFC ........... All the other apologies for Board Members could never cross Mr 6%

When he was ousted before, I said that as long as he possessed just ONE share in SFC, he would be back .. Everybody on here thought I was nuts then ........ but he DID come back, and don't we know it now I agree it is just my opinion ........but the man is obsessed with never being wrong, and in his eyes he has done nothing wrong I say again, IMHO, Lowe will be back. He never does anything without a reason ........ Lowe & Wilde joined forces in a Grand Plan. I'm convinced that that plan had very little to do with the well being of OUR Football Club SFC will NEVER be any cheaper to buy than it is now. The "debt" with Norwich(Aviva) can be reduced dramatically with or without the involvement of Southampton Council, and there is still adequate "space" within the Stadium area, to incorporate the other amenities that were lost in the failed Stoneham project ....... ( the majority of which are now safely in place within Eastleigh ) The only stumbling block is that Lowe is lurking in the background I fear, ready to front a Consortium Happy Days
Mole Posted 25 April, 2009 Posted 25 April, 2009 SaintRichmond said: Rupert WILL be back one way or the other I don't know why you keep saying this. It's not going to happen. Rupert Lowe is not a wealthy man in the scheme of things. He's even less wealthy now that SLH has gone down the pan, one of his other companies went into admin, and w h irelands shareprice has crashed. Forget Lowe he is a yesterdays man.

Lowe did not chose the Administration, he did not plan it, it is not some part of an elaborate scheme. The only way he is going to be back is if he can find the funds to out bid any other consortium. I very much doubt that he will be able to do so. If another consortium buys the club he will have no shares, no influence, no leaverage and no ability to force himself back into the fore. Stop scaremongering.

IN MY DAY Posted 25 April, 2009 Posted 25 April, 2009 Everything he touches truely does turn to xxit!! After Barclays pulled the plug W.H.Ireland produced a future shareprice forecast for Barclays Shares of around 46p for the year when they were around the £1.30. . They finished on Friday at £2.36. Tried not to read to much into it at the time but Lowe being Lowe you wouldn't put it past him.
