SNSUN Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 ...and change ONE Saints-related thing only, what would you change?
Perennial Underachiever Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Ensure that Mr Lowe Snr never met Mrs Lowe. On on that note I've used up my 3 posts for the day.
Dicko Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 The day Paul Sturrock was sacked, is the day we went rapidly into decline
Colinjb Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 The day Paul Sturrock was sacked, is the day we went rapidly into decline That would be mine too. The day Rupert showed he had no respect for the institution and role that is the 'football maanger.'
Kingsland Red Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Accept we were the 20th club in the country and like WBA, Brum, Sunderland etc bounce back up. Not panic, reduce wages by 50%, keep a disinterested manager etc. And all this was expressed by most supporters at the time.
Saint Stimp Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 The day Paul Sturrock was sacked, is the day we went rapidly into decline disagree, we went into decline as soon as Strachan was refused a bit of money by Lowe to spend on players in our European season. That was make or break, and we've been broken.
Saint Thomas Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I'd mess with Strachan's head so he'd decide never to leave the South Coast - or clone MLT so he'd always be about 27ish.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I would make Ashley Cole totally air kick the ball and have us equalise in the FA cup final
Window Cleaner Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 ...and change ONE Saints-related thing only, what would you change? Not appoint Stuart Gray, take David Moyes on his terms instead as we f*cking well should have.
Webby Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 disagree, we went into decline as soon as Strachan was refused a bit of money by Lowe to spend on players in our European season. That was make or break, and we've been broken. I agree. That's when/why it all went wrong.
corky morris Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 disagree, we went into decline as soon as Strachan was refused a bit of money by Lowe to spend on players in our European season. That was make or break, and we've been broken. Agree with Saint Stimp. Did Strachan ever have the hip op he mentioned?
Mole Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 The night Rupert Lowe was conceived. If only there'd be something good on TV that night.
Foxstone Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 The appointment of Wigley was wholly wrong and the start of our demise...
James_O_Mac Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I'd probably tell Killer not to warm up before the Pompey match..
oejwells Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 keep our 1-0 lead against utd on the last day of that season
jjsaint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 The appointment of Wigley was wholly wrong and the start of our demise... Agreed. Sturrock was the wrong appointment but once made we should have stuck with him.
once_bitterne Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 The day Paul Sturrock was sacked, is the day we went rapidly into decline I think you meant appointed not sacked. The moment the club went into decline was when Lowe caved in to 'popular' opinion and got cold feet on re-appointing Hoddle as manager. It's been downhill ever since.
cazza26 Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I'd tell my brothers that i didn't want to go to see a football match on my 13th birthday - i'd never have seen Matt Le Tissier play and never become addicted to the game and never fallen in love with saints... and it wouldn't hurt so much today.
Mole Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I think you meant appointed not sacked. The moment the club went into decline was when Lowe caved in to 'popular' opinion and got cold feet on re-appointing Hoddle as manager. It's been downhill ever since. Are you Dalek in disguise?
Hatch Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 ...and change ONE Saints-related thing only, what would you change? That Saints pedal bin I got for Christmas 1982. It was useless. I wanted a mug.
teamsaint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I would have bought an extra satin yellow away scarf, so that I still had one now.
Ekelund24 Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Banned James Beattie from driving for life and made him do community service everyday. As soon as he was back in the Lambo the ego was back and no muffin was safe!
alpine_saint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 ...and change ONE Saints-related thing only, what would you change? Lowe not being a stubborn arse just prior to March 26th, 2009....
SaintDonkey Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 It depends how far back I can go (and only changing Southampton board decisions rather than for example changing WGS's mind so he stayed) 2000's Appointed Hoddle instead of Sturrock 1990's Not sacked Chris Nicholl 1980's ... Can't think of much I would have changed in the 80's, maybe pushed for a move to a larger ground? The Taylor report cut the Dell in half and the board should have seen from the way things were going in the mid-eighties that all seater grounds were intevitable. We were averaging over 20,000 in the early eighties but lost 5000 supporters throughout the 90s. If we'd had that extra income then before the Premiership big four monoploy started to take hold we'd be up there with Villa and Everton IMO.
ooh it's a corner Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 If I could go back in time, it would be to a party aged 16, when I had a certain attention from Katie D., but failed to recognise it for what it was..... you fool, you young naive, stupid fool......
the saint in winchester Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 The day Paul Sturrock was sacked, is the day we went rapidly into decline I agree with you. Most would say the day WGS left, but I feel we were ok until Sturrock was undermined by Lowe and player power won.
Saint Martini Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I'd probably tell Killer not to warm up before the Pompey match.. So true.
1976_Child Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 If I could go back in time it would be to the time when I took this really fat chick back to my bed, got her naked and went for a muff-dive. I would ask her to take a shower first. It stank like a rotting skunk. I threw up.
ottery st mary Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Never let Lowe near the club in the first place... with his old age pensioners social club reverse takeover. Mr Lowe what have you done to Saints and Football.
benjii Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Sacking Pearson, closely followed by appointing Wigley, closely followed by sacking Sturrock at that particular time.
Rational Rich Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 you can't change anything. whatever happened happened, even if you go back in time. seriously, watch Lost. So someone else is still watching as well. Thought I was the only one. I would make Crouch run to the corner flag against Everton rather than having that pathetic shot when it was 2-1. Or stop Lawrie from going to Sunderland.
WGC Saint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Letting Pearson go and bringing those two Dutch muppets to this club ****ed us over big time! FACT.
alpine_saint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Why do I think I Cher prancing round on a US battleship with 5.5 millimeters of shiny fabric barely covering her front-crack when I read this title ?
Saint Fan CaM Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I wish I had never found out about this forum (and its predecessor). Spent far too much of my life reading the nonsense and adding to it.
paulwantsapint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 should never have appointed eithier Hoddell or WGS because they both gave us hope & belief that SAINTS could play football then this current pile of sh1t might not have hurt so much
benjii Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I wish I had never found out about this forum (and its predecessor). Spent far too much of my life reading the nonsense and adding to it. Nearly allowed it to eat in to the revision too much in the Summer of Allen.
Badger Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Sacking Luggy, then appointing Wigley. And Mr Lowe Snr not having the correct change for the durex machine.
oejwells Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Nearly allowed it to eat in to the revision too much in the Summer of Allen. that summer ruined my academic livelihood. And all because of allen
