david in sweden Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Southampton FC striker Marek Saganowski is hoping on making a return to Legia Warsaw this summer - reports Gazeta. "I would very much so like to help out Legia." said the 31-year-old, who is confirmed to be leaving Southampton FC this summer window. http://www.polishsoca.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1679:saganowski-pondering-legia-return&catid=37:poles-abroad&Itemid=81 Of course, everyone will be upset and consider this a betrayal of some sort, but his contribution (since his return) has been worth 5 points that might be invaluable at the end of this circus ! Anyway the man is a current international for his country and has scored goals for them this season. Does anyone really expect him to continue playing in League 1 - if thats where we end up.? Besides which, IF as some say, he's still under contract then we'll get some sort of fee, and ALL money is welcome right now - isn't it ?
rocknrollman no2 Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I dont know why anyone is surprised that Saga may be leaving. He will be the first of many rats to leave, now we are down. What annoys me though is if Saga and all of the others that will leave us before next season had put in a lot more effort, then we may not have been heading for League One,even after being docked ten points.
Window Cleaner Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 "Likely this summer I will be a free agent despite still having a contract with Southampton." That sounds more worrying than actually losing Saga It means that he probably won't get paid this month, if not this month next month.

I just wish they'd all left last summer, like the plan.
Arizona Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I really don't get this logic of anyone who wants out is lazy and doesn't give a sh*t. If there's anything you can't fault Saga for, it's his effort. Even after being treated terribly by Burley last season, then shipped out on loan to save cash, he has ALWAYS got his head down and put 100% into the team. Even if we are hopeless and he doesn't get a sniff of a goal for weeks. That's what I admire about him, more than his goals. Lets not kid ourselves, EVERYONE wants off this ship. The fact that Saga is the first one rumoured to be off doesn't mean he cares the least, just that other clubs want him most. The guy is playing and sometimes scoring for a very respectable national team, he's not going to stick around in the 3rd League of English football. All our players will have been on the blower to their agents this afternoon saying "get me the f*ck out of here." Even our home grown favourites like Surman.
saintwarwick Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Says the person who complains Poortvillet wasnt sacked earlier. Maybe if the chairman had been about, he might have seen waht was going on and taken action earlier ? Sorry, I know it requires joined-up thinking Oh for the future when someone invents something like mobile phones, computers, video replays

Excellent point, the efforts of some of the players this season has been abysmal.

alpine_saint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Talking of joined up thinking the chairman of the football club was Michael Wilde. Why does Thunderbirds enter my mind as I read that ?

However, he hasn't been a regular there. I admire his goal record with Saints, (only third player in last 15 years to get 20 goals /season--others MLT / Beattie,) but some of his performances were frustrating to say the least and he often "disappeared " from game for long periods and lacked consisitancy. But ...IF he's happier somewhere else ..Goodbye and Good Luck Greg .
