All 4 of mine used it at some stage when they were teething, and im pretty sure its been around for years and remember my mum using it on my brother and sisters and there is nothing wrong with anyone of them.

Heard that on the Radio this morning.

Bit late now .

I expect a lot of people reading this thread use Calpol or similar quite regularly too.

In 2008 the Lancet published the largest study to date on long term side effects of paracetamol in children. Conducted on over 200,000 children in 31 countries, the study determined that use of paracetamol for fever in the first year of life was associated with a 46% increase in the risk of developing asthma symptoms when aged 6–7 years. Higher doses and more regular use of the drug are associated with a greater risk of developing asthma; up to a three-fold increase for heavy use. Furthermore, paracetamol use, both in the first year of life and in children aged 6–7 years, was associated with an increased risk of symptoms of rhino conjunctivitis and eczema.
