hamster Posted 24 April, 2009 Share Posted 24 April, 2009 Only hours after saying that I had come through last week unscathed, my knee locked up and required ice packs throughout the night. It's still not 100% but if I can get back from seeing the In laws in time I will be there. My goal is to not die during the forum match, so don't expect any heroics please as I will be taking it easy. For that reason, can I mark Baj please? Baj Posted 24 April, 2009 Share Posted 24 April, 2009 lol, git. I shallnt be there, I'm at the in-laws too
hamster Posted 24 April, 2009 Share Posted 24 April, 2009 lol, git. I shallnt be there, I'm at the in-laws too I didn't even know that we were related! If you get there before us, save me a custard cream. Cheers Actually, I shall probably just hang around the middle of the pitch, squirting the occasional ball through the opposition defence and generally being a lazy arse. Anyone else from the Forum match home team going? We should all agree to wear the same colours, I suggest Barce shirts. Or does anyone have access to some bibs? Just off to do some training (before they close), please don't tell phil, he's a hard task master you know. Might break another of his (stupid) rules later too, just to keep my stamina up ;-)

JustMike Posted 26 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 26 April, 2009 good game that, even sides too. And as for my double save..well..what can i say :-)
hamster Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 Enjoyed it lots, cheesr lads. Still not managed to put one away, and had a few opportunities, nevermind I'll save the best for St Mary's. A few weeks ago I was worried 45 minutes would be too long for an old tubby like myself, but now I am so up for it, cheers. Can I take I take it that after next week you wrap it up for the summer? Andy_Porter Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 Why stop for the summer? surely we need some sort of football fix during the off season. I would've come down today but I was busy untill 6.
Spades Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 Yeh really enjoyed today, sides were nice and even and it was all played in good spirit. As for your double save mike... damn you! Thought id scored a special goal by flicking it over you... damn your meddling fingertip! Stil... scored 3 or 4 and set up a few as well as hitting the bar twice so cant complain. Mike, didnt you and akeem both miss basically open goals until i came from nowhere to pick it off the line?
JustMike Posted 27 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 27 April, 2009 No, we dont stop for the summer, we play through, it can get a bit silly at times with like 14 a side matches some weeks, but we move to the grass then. Yes Spades, damn my meddling fingertips!! And no, i didnt miss an open goal, it was going in until you morphed yourself into a cheater and somehow managed to get there in time. (Akeem did miss though :-) )
Bad Wolf Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 I didn't miss. I got it on target it counts as a save I'm sorry for my performence yesterday but if McGoldrick can blame the ground, I can sure as hell blame my hayfever =D
BotleySaint Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 I was knackered from the start yesterday. Dunno why, just no energy in my legs really. May sound stupid as I was running about a lot of the game. But... still didn't feel quite "right" in the legs. Might need to take a week off football to properly recover! Won't be there next week anyway, i'm up north.

hamster Posted 28 April, 2009 Share Posted 28 April, 2009 Stupid rules eh... hm new position, left back in the changing room Still not put one away? you need a night out at Rock Bottom with the local fat chicks and a few bullfrogs Gaffer, I will do you proud. Over the last few weeks i have rediscovered my natural bent for the mental game, it's not all about having the ball at your feet is it. a few weeks back I was trying to impress those youngsters be trying to run and chase their (to be perfectly honest) crap passes and speculative shots. Just ask the residents in Passfield Avenue. I sustained injuriy after injury and pulled more muscles than a Glenn Tilbrook. I think none would argue that my positional play and 'hold and give' play was quite impressive. I tracked back, I supported the attack and generally ran the show. I even kept my eyes open when I headed the ball. Gaffer, whatever happens next week, I will give 100% and if you don't carry me off on your shoulders I will get caried off on a stretcher.
