david in sweden Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 as Liverpool have always been my " second team " ..I was amazed to see a second fantastic game ( in the space of one week) ending at 4-4 Of course the Arsenal lad scored all 4 ...but then I thought to myself .. WHO was the last Premier League player to get 4 goals in a game? (it surely hasn't happened quite so often in recent years..) **I know it wasn't Premiership them, but Ron Davies got FOUR (in the old Div.1 days) ..on at least 3 occasions.
um pahars Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Didn't Solskear score a shedload at Forest the season they went down (and sure he came on as a sub). Also sure Cole scored 4 against Ipswich or Norwich? And didn't Henry do it as well?
saintwarwick Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Cole scored 5 against ipswich. sure shearer got 4 once. Le tiss did.....against huddersfield! Shearer got 5 against Sheffield Wednesday in 1999.
Tamesaint Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Alan Brazil got 5 against us for Ipswich in 1982. I think in one of his Talksport programmes last week he only mentioned it once !! We were top of the table at that time.... and we lost 5-2!! A train strike meant that it was difficult to get to Portman Road after work that night but once you got there, you had to wonder why you had bothered!!
saintwarwick Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 im sure Mark Viduka did the same for Leeds Against Liverpool.
jawillwill Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Against Liverpool. No, that was Arshavin I think.
krissyboy31 Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Frankie Bunn scored 6 of 7 for Oldham (v Scarborough) in the League Cup on their plastic pitch, on their way to the Final 1989/90 season. (Pre Premiership but they were a Div 1 club at the time and founder members of the Prem).

Thanks Lazlo. I notice its only happened 4 times in the last 5 seasons, and by the look of it they were all the slaughter of bottom of the league sides. Arshavins goals were all against a top of the Prem. side - very impressive!
