Paul Chuckle Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Paul Simpson at Shrewsbury would be a good shout. Someone the other day Said Dave Penney, he's another who knows the leagues well
Legod Third Coming Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Depends who they buy surely but yes they may well finish in the top six. I'll take an even fifty with you they finish no higher than seventh!
Tractor_Saint Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 That's who Ipswich want apparently Going to be announced tomorrow according to SSN. Betting suspended as well at Roy Keane 2/1 on. Seems like a done deal and not everyone on the ITFC forums are happy!
saint lard Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Will be confirmed as Roy Keane in the next 24 hrs.
Paul Chuckle Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 seriously people need to get real..... We have no money. How the hell could we afford Roy Keane,Alan Shearer,Paul Ince They have all managed in the Prem this season so they are hardly going to come manage a league 1 side possibly starting next season in negative points. If new owners come in they will probably just want to make sure the books balance and will want steady progress. None of the above managers would accept that. They would want instant promotion and money to spend. We would be better off going for Tisdale or Ian Baird at Eastleigh!!!! The Saints job has almost become a poisened challice over the last few seasons so who would want it anyway???
oxfordshire_saint Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 hoof ball Boothroyd is not welcome. Ince is a winner. JP was a UEFA Cup winner, where did that get us? Ugly football is the way forward for next season, sign a load of nasty gits and power our way out of League 1.
Lets B Avenue Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 JP was a UEFA Cup winner, where did that get us?. When? With whom?
Crab Lungs Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Ince is a gob****e and will be found it in his next appointment, and his next, and next. Paul Tisdale and Paul Simpson would be fine, just fine. Even Holloway would get us up, as would Boothroyd.
Saint in Paradise Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 We would be better off going for Tisdale or Ian Baird at Eastleigh!!!! The Saints job has almost become a poisened challice over the last few seasons so who would want it anyway??? The poisoner in chief has left the building so the new man will be safe, for a while anyway
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I heard the chairman telephoned Magilton to sack him while he was away looking after his unwell mother. Magilton did better when he was bringing through the youngsters then spent money on players who didn't perform to their ability. Sounds familiar. I think he will do a good job somewhere else and wouldn't mind him at Saints.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Keano???? That C**T would get lynched down here after his 'going down' taunts in May 2005. No thanks!
eelpie Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Another one we missed Roy Keane http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/i/ipswich_town/8013572.stm
LostBoys Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 I like Magilton but he has not done very well this year with a very big budget
St Landrew Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 They've just signed Roy Keane. Excellent move IMO. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/i/ipswich_town/8013572.stm
Micky Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Always thought it was a strange time to sack JM, but it looks like a deal had already been done with Keane. Horrible mirky world of football....
OldNick Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Always thought it was a strange time to sack JM, but it looks like a deal had already been done with Keane. Horrible mirky world of football.... and he was on compassionate leave visiting his sick mother.Ipswich another friendly club bites the dust
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 It seemed Magilton did not have the respect from some players at Ipswich. I dont think he is tough enough to manage us. We need someone who wont take any s*** from anyone although most of the rotten apples will have gone by next season in any case. We need someone who is a disciplinarian, tactically good (changes tatics during games) and plays the right football to get us promoted.
paulwantsapint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Wanted Tisdale installed as boss second NP was removed by the tw^t Liked the idea of young manager who knew how talent cant guarantee successful playing career If Magilton wants to take over as Saints boss someone needs to get him in
Saint Fan CaM Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Magilton with Gorman would not be a bad management team in L1 to be fair.
The Milkybarkid Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 Reports in Ipswich suggest Magilton will take some time out before his next club. Gorman will go back to Hoddle's coaching school in Spain. I think we can discount JM frankly. I'd prefer Tisdale; he'd be proud to do the job and he's got a fairly decent track record. The other one I like is Eddie Howe at Bournemouth. He's done a good job keeping them up.
