bungle Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 Umpires: J H Evans, R T Robinson Warwickshire: Maddy, Frost (W), Bell, Trott, Troughton, Ambrose ©, Clarke, Botha, Woakes, Miller, Rankin Hampshire: Adams, Carberry, Crawley, Tomlinson, North, Pothas (C/W), Ervine, Dawson, Balcombe, Cork, Tremlett North in for Lumb, which should strengthen the batting. Warwicks have put a lot of runs on the board early in the season, so interesting to see what our bowling is up to.
stevegrant Posted 22 April, 2009 Posted 22 April, 2009 They did put those runs on at Taunton, though... Also, surely Ambrose is their keeper, not Frost?
bungle Posted 22 April, 2009 Author Posted 22 April, 2009 Hants win the toss and bat. 116/2 at lunch. Carberry making 77 but getting out just before the break, which is annoying. North in now. Good start, though.

The Saturday Boy Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 North has been called up by the Aussies. So it looks like this will be his first and only game for Hampshire for the time being - http://content.cricinfo.com/pakvaus2009/content/current/story/401093.html
Weston Saint Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 As I read it he is leaving immediately. Assume we can call Lumb in to replace him mid match? Edit, yes Lumb in the 11 now http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/marcus_north_called_up_to_australian_odi_squad/

The article originally said after the Championship match but looks like it has been amended since I first linked to it. I would imagine we could replace him as it isn't an injury

mattpike Posted 23 April, 2009 Posted 23 April, 2009 good batting from Pothas though, just what you need from your wk
Leicestersaint Posted 24 April, 2009 Posted 24 April, 2009 It has all gone pear-shaped - Warwicks 580 odd for 6 - eek. I think our bowling looks a bit weak.
Leicestersaint Posted 25 April, 2009 Posted 25 April, 2009 Well Nic Pothas carried his bat in both innings - he must have a rather good average at the moment.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 April, 2009 Posted 26 April, 2009 It has all gone pear-shaped - Warwicks 580 odd for 6 - eek. I think our bowling looks a bit weak. I think the loss of Tahir is going to weigh heavily later on. Will he be back when his jaw gets better?
