I'm a bit sick of Crouch. Fair enough Lowe must take the majority of the blame for our demise but Leon was not blameless and here he is acting all holier than thou. Not impressed!

Does anyone know, if we are so close to folding, why havn't we flogged that bloody farm, or Staplewood?

Those computerised eye gyms Woodward put in must be worth a bit. I don't see why I should stump up any cash when the club has plenty of stuff to flog.

Maybe the amount needed is more than what they could get for those?

FFS how much clearer do you need it spelt out?

The fans are being asked to help stop Southampton FC ceasing to be. Now oddly enough I'm a Southampton fan and as such I'd rather like it if the team I've supported for the last thirty something years did not cease to be. If to stop that eventuality I have to give money that will line the pockets lazy arse wasters who are paid more in a month than I earn in a year than so be it.

This isn't about the players, it's not about Crouch, Lowe, Wilde, Askham or Pope John Paul II it's about Southampton football club. Now I think that's worth saving, if you don't then frankly you can take your fat one and shove it where the sun don't shine.

If you wanna line those lazy ****s pockets then feel free,me I've got other priorities.

There are people out there who should be hanging their heads in shame who need to be digging deep.

I have been propping this club up for 40 years one way or another and I am now past caring what happens.

Or for just stating the bleeding obvious !

He's played his part in us reaching the depths we have plummeted to, so all these rallying cries are all a bit rich to me !!

Really?

Ken Dulieu was chairman the summer we spent £7million we didn't have, and Michael Wilde was in charge in the summer we signed Thomas, John, Euell etc on ridiculous wages.

The only time Crouch has been in charge was in the period just after Lowe first left and when Dulieu/Hoos/Hone etc took over, and in the second half of last season. And let's not forget that in january last season we loaned out Rasiak and Skacel, two of our highest earners, in order to try and reduce the outgoings.

If we go under, you will regret saying this in a couple of years.

You can't just hop onto another team and get the same kind of passion....

Who said anything about swapping teams?

If we go under it won't be my fault,I have continued my support of this team in the bad times unlike many,I have given as much as I can afford to try and save the club and I can do no more.

What I don't need is crouch, one of the causes of our problems, telling me we need to do more.

Ok so we all dig deep again so the club can fulfil it's obligations, pay the players wages and see out the season.......then what? The club folds, the players walk away with their fat wallets into another lucrative contract elsewhere and we are left with nothing.

Perhaps if the club gave the fans some assurances then perhaps they might give that little bit extra, maybe even go into debt to help.

Us loyal fans have been taken for a ride for to long and I think they have had enough.

It's not just your spelling that's cr*p mate ;)

Ive never claimed my spelling is any good and dont give a monkeys if you want to pick holes in it. coking was deliberate as if i put the extra c in it would have been done by the swear filter ;)

My other points you highlighted I think are right though. He is no-where near responsible for all our problems and the rest of them are complete coks (insert c where appropriate) too. But the tossers who put us in this position should be the ones made to bail us out. Well done to Croach for doing something while Rupe's touts himself around for interviews claiming he is whiter than white and Wilde who has done a hoodini, but i think it takes the p1ss a bit with what he says and how he says it.

Everyone quite rightly moans that Rupes never owns up to his mistakes and always blames someone else yet Crouch expects his happy campers to bail him out when he does the same as rupes.

Im fukt off with all of them to be honest and cant believe our fantastic club is on the brink of going out of business completly. Barring the term while WGS was here I havnt seen anything in the last 10 years or so that would suggest we will have a white knight round the corner.

Appologies for feeling so down about it all but tis how I feel. :(

The dilemma for many though is that do they donate to the clud direct knowing a % will go straight into teh pocket of the administrator (first and formost), wages for playesr and then lastly any bills etc? Or do pledge your hard earned to the group looking to buy the club?

You jay really should get a new bra....so many good peeps get on your manly breasts.....Unite...at least Crouchey is trying.:).

Rupert was always very trying.;)....

But we must forget our petty thoughts about fellow fans and be more constructive......

Cheer up there is light at the end of the tunnel....hopefully..You may even get to see The mighty Saints play at Plainmoor in the good old English Riviera.

My comment to you ages ago was about 1 thing you used to say which IMO seemed petty and silly and it did get on my nerves. I said so and didnt want a barny and didnt mean to offend. My thoughts were actually echoed by an Admin not so long ago so I dont think I was being petty to fellow fans ;)

but so far since I have been on here I think its just your name calling and Crouches comments that have got under my skin so not much for my manly moobies to cope with :D

The way things seem to stand right now I would take saints playing in the blue square league as that would mean the club still exist. Mr Fry seems more intent to go watch matches and enjoy prawn sarnys than securing a future for us. I am probably wrong with that but for all the early hustle and bustle we are sat here with the dust settling and crouch moaning about short term failings and fans bailing those responsable out.

I stand by what I said in that at the very least the main shareholders should not be able to walk away from there mess and all should stump up a minimum of 10% of the value of there shares. They put us here and should be held responsable IMO

It will all go into the pockets of the administrator to run the club. He will then pay what bills he can - starting with the salaries no doubt (that includes the bloke who cleans the bogs as well as the players who couldn't p!ss in one from five inches).

But without that cash, he can pay no bills and the club stops.

Simple.

Look at your posts over the months ( you still can't say Lowe can you) and I think some have been very petty.[-X... only a majority decision by the panel here in Devon who stated you were worse than me:)

So between us we have had some petty posts.[-X...At least I am slowly improving:)

It is so sad to see the serious situation we are in and blaming Crouch or Lowe for the past or for what they attempt to do now is not the answer.... We must pull together and support the club and ANYONE who is there for our future....IF that includes Lowe and Crouch...SO BE IT. All hands to the pump....Hopefully with new buyer here very soon.

I can't remember who the mod/admin person was, you mention....Probably stevegrant or pontey.....Sometimes they're right and sometimes they talk shiiiite like you and me...:D Looking at some of my posts I can agree with you, grantey and pontey But then again I can only guess where some of you peeps were coming from[-X My opinion ...You top Saints supporters.

No offence as all the mods/admin are top peeps in my eyes...like us, entitled to their opinion...No offence to anyone.

Does that mean...like Grantey and pontey I am now off your xmas card list?

I am sure Mr Fry is doing his best and will sort our problem out very soon with a genuine top of the range purchaser.....

Back to your sun bed and put some sun tan lotion on your man boobs or they will burn like last year.:D

For all we know we could need 10 mil by the end of the season and our small contributions so far will do nothing to help keep us afloat.

Where I work we need 500,000 to build a new enclosure, we are asking the public to help us out and we are raising the money. There is a big F Off poster in the window as you walk in with a target and a progress bar letting everyone know how much so far and how much to go.

How much do Saints need to stay afloat?

How close are we to that amount?

Sorry for bieng a tad suspicious as I respect leon as a true fan but something in this whole equation doesn't add up.

You're in good company. Why can't the club make the appeal themselves instead of using an individual who has no stake whatsoever as he himself points out. If the club don't have a 'personality' left in the boardroom how about getting the club captain to make an appeal and whilst he is at it how about getting those players on £4k pw a more to take a 50% paycut (no deferral) until the end of the season. Below this amount there could be a graduated reduction. Will raise more than the fans can through donations, times are tough so why donate funds just so some players can fill the tanks of their over-sized transport to carry around their under-sized reputations. One player in particular springs to mind.

The writing has been on the wall from the end of last season so Crouch's comments are IMO poorly timed at best and where was the high-visibility campaign in September when gates had obviously dropped off by 5k and the impact of that loss of revenue was clearly going to end up with only one result. I don't remember any 'call to arms' back then so what was his agenda then when others were trying to save the club? Lets face it like the rest of us he didn't exactly need a crystal ball.

People turned their back on the club because of Lowe and IMO Crouch can be equally as divisive, so it is surprising the club cannot use a uniting figure like the club captain to deliver it's plea and perhaps at the same time expand on exactly where the money is needed. In terms of pecking order the very highest paid can afford to be the last on the list and the money needs to go where it is needed most but we don't know how it is being allocated and IMO I don't think the club do. To vague and to general and it feels like a donation is simply throwing your money away, a stay of execution at best and having an ex-chairman without any stake ask for funds doesn't ally my concerns that the donations will actually make a difference or be used in a targeted manner.

Crouch IMO is in need of an oil change.

Good questions there and it's no good the club or Crouch saying simply that 'more STILL needs to be done to ensure the club's future' Tell us what exactly needs to be done as I personally cannot afford to throw money at a cause that I sense may already be lost. Convince me to donate not beg like some tragic addict and lets improve the reporting in terms of progress as Jay suggests.

I am going to try and be really diplomatic now. I am going to try and reach out and bring you in with the rest of us. I couldn't stand lowe. I could go on about the wrongs he has done, but I am not going to because it is now time to move on. Lowe isnt here anymore and now is the time to unite together and move on. Leon whether you like him or not is trying to help the club in its hour of need. How about we forget lowe and think of ways we can help. How about you support hopefully the united supporters groups and mp's and we save the club? It needs you. I will forget everything if you can?

Lets face it he has a history of over-reacting and issuing misleading statements ( albeit perhaps unintentionally) - But nonetheless he likes to play to the media and I for one ( and I know I am not alone in this) do not trust him !

If things are that parlous, then why does'nt Fry or as 19C suggests, The Club Captain make the call to arms? This would have a far more galvanising affect don't you think.

No use chucking money into a bottomless pit with no tangible evidence on how it will be used.

These are all excellent questions.

It is imperative that very quickly we establish how much is needed, from whom and where it's going.

Am I simply paying into a pot to keep the business afloat (fine but tell me so) and/or can I contribute to purchase - if so how.

But the key thing - how much do we have and how much do we need.

Now it maybe that Fry cannot come out and answer those questions because it would not help our cause with regards to points deductions so you must also bear that in mind.

But he could leak it, I'm sure...

Roger I don't want o listen to Lowe, Crouch or anybody else who was involved with making the decisions at the club. I want to hear from the club direct even if they use an appointed member of staff not directly involved with the Finances. I then want some answer to the questions that Jay and I and others have raised. How much? By when? How long? What if? What else? and so on. If the club is beging like a tragic addict and needs money to feed its habit with no sight of recovery then in difficult times is that best for all concerned a stay of execution? On the otherhand if we knew exactly how much was needed and by when and how long that would last coupled with players salaries being reduced and other costs savings then we may start to be encouraged. Crouch's assurance the other day that donations are not going into a bottomless pit, well I'm afraid it feels exactly like that and as he is not involved with the club how would he know that anyway or was he just trying to convince himself?

I'm not sure what your post is trying to say but it seems you are letting your opinion of me cloud the points raised if not by me but SaintJay and others. It seems I am more in with the rest of you than you thought Roger but the truth is of course I don't need your approval to buy my season tickets or to support my club let alone have an opinion that whilst not popular is nonetheless valid. Thanks anyway for your charity but hopefuly I'll still be let in on Saturday.

BTW MPs have no place in private football clubs they should be looking after our public services and society in general and especially at the moment. The fact we have fragmented supporters groups run IMO by a few egos who enjoy the 'importance' of their role I am not interested because they don't speak for the fans when they IMO seem to collectively constitute less than 1% of the fan base. SISA it seems is made up of more officers than members, Sainst Trust do at least have Trust status but have failed to generate critical mass or anywhere near it and I personally would find it difficult to support anything that Um pahars has any involvement with past or present. SaveourSaints should have been managed by the Trust but decided to form a breakaway group, why fragment? Sorry I don't understand our fan groups anymore than I have tried to understand the way our club has been run for the past 3 seasons.

Roger, did I hear a penny drop.

Foxstone as the club is not in administration and being run by Jones and 'Dawn's Dad' I don't believe Fry can make the call or be shown to have influence over it's business can he? If he did isn't that exactly the evidence the Football League are looking for to confirm the club and SLH plc are essentially the same thing?

So most of us are all willing to help out the club's immediate needs from our hard-earned wages, PROVIDED they come clean and tell us how much is needed to get to the end of the season, and thus avoid being thrown out of the Football leagues by the FL.

When will we know?

Is anyone listening?

My opinion was based on how I feel and I followed it up with the bit you removed to point that out. I know it wasnt fact which is why I made it clear I didnt really believe it. But thats how it comes accross to me at this time when I know so little about the club I love. We are told its really bad and we need to help while the ones responsable beg us or slip away into hiding.

Can you imagine what it would be like on here if Crouch went and hid while MR I've done nothing wrong Lowe stood on the pitch asking us to cough up a few quid and the administrator sits down in the comfy seats to watch a game of footy while we suffer?

I know Crouch is not as culperable as the others but his comments get my back up as much as the others actions do, and the no idea how close we are to saving the club or watching it join the titanic is doing my head in!

Ive only taken 1 word out of your post and it completly changes it. ;)

We do have to appreciate that Fry cannot disclose details of the bids received and under review - nor can he indicate externally anything re figures that might undermine potential or future bids in terms of settlements with both Barclays or Aviva....from teh SLH persspective - BUT surely what is being debated by teh ootball league is whether SLH and the club are seperate entities and if so do we qualify for the loophole.

However, SFC is s seperate entity and is currently not in administration, which is the claim, but feeling the pinch as costs are outstripping revenues and will do even more significantly over the summer period, and therefore the club needs money now to keep going, then I see no reason why the questions mentioned above cannot be answered - What is the current monthly shortfall?

What is being done by SFC ltd itself to reduce costs

How long have we got etc before it goes tits up? - As i understand it the problem for the club is now not getting sold, but getting an income.

The club is simply an asset of SLH who in admin are determined to sell teh asets to realise capital to pay of teh SHL creditors - SFC Ltd, as an asset is losing money as cost outstrip revenue so without cash the club itself will end up in admin and liquidation v soon. but how soon and to what extent?

Crouch has pros in his donantions to date, and I am sure he does care, but he is also in part responsible for the mess - his lack of ability to make unpopular decisions have contributed directly to this - not vetoing the 7mil spend etc whn there was no guarantee of Wildes famed 'investors in teh wings' - dumping wilde after the event was a classic case of acting before due diligence was carried out - we spent when we could not afford it and THAT is what the football League and its points deduction is all about - preventing clubs from gaining an on teh field advantage by heavy borrowings which it cant sustain - whatever loophole exists, we cant say we did not try that....sadly and for that CRouch, LM and Wilde are all culpable in MHO. So whilst I agree he is doing his bit I dont understand why some still semm to worship at his particular alter....

you know, that is a VERY good point. Walcott in particular owes a lot to us! and 'Saints mad' Bridgey must be loaded..... HOWEVER, the chances are these players may have put money into the club....they just prefer it not to be advertised in case fans of their club take it badly..... (i hope that's the case anyway, and they aren't just forgetting about us!)

Did Heskey get shot down by Liverpool fans when he donated £100,000+ to Leicester?

Course you didnt remove any words at all

Lol.........;);) I edited your post to discuss the point, but hey, whatever!!

Mr Fry seems more intent to go watch matches and enjoy prawn sarnys than securing a future for us. I am probably wrong with that but for all the early hustle and bustle we are sat here with the dust settling and crouch moaning about short term failings and fans bailing those responsable out.

That was the bit I was quoting, why then quote it all, it still reads the same.

I stand by what I said in that at the very least the main shareholders should not be able to walk away from there mess and all should stump up a minimum of 10% of the value of there shares. They put us here and should be held responsable IMO

Ferk ing hell..........lose £????s on the value of your shares, then have to stump up 10% of the value of said shares (at what value should we mark these). Name one person on here, that would do that........get real man!!

I never said I should be involved in any decission making. I came to this forum and made a point about my opinion. Something that you have done plenty of in the past when you felt the need or wish.

But its ok I will go back and sit in my corner and let you have your forum back. Enjoy.

No you never said you wanted to be involved in the decision making, but like others on here, you seem to want to question those that do. You/I/Anyone else, will not, repeat not, have any say, until this is decided one way or the other. Getting your knickers in a twist, will not change one single thing. Those that contribute.......good on them, but they still will not influence the decision making.

As I said, before you removed the 'not', I am not having a go at you personaly..........we are all hurting/frightened/mad/apathetic....choose your poison!!!

But the valid question remains - Why Crouch ? He is only a fan now with no power within the club so how does he know exactly whats going on ?

Lets face it he has a history of over-reacting and issuing misleading statements ( albeit perhaps unintentionally) - But nonetheless he likes to play to the media and I for one ( and I know I am not alone in this) do not trust him !

If things are that parlous, then why does'nt Fry or as 19C suggests, The Club Captain make the call to arms? This would have a far more galvanising affect don't you think.

No use chucking money into a bottomless pit with no tangible evidence on how it will be used.

Ahh your post typifies how wrong someone can be going on what you read on the internet.

A history of overeacting ? when

misleading statements ? when and what

Play the media ? LOL

As it stands today i understand Crouch has stopped the football club from going into admin at the beginning of this week. It involved another large sum of money which he is never going to see again.

Luckily its literally a handful of misinformed fans on a internet forum that continue to barrack those stopping the club folding totally.

So in the meantime unless you write out a cheque for £300,000 i suggest you shut up.

check it out.

..seems ******* scary to me,not a very nice piece of reading :(

Only just had the chance to read it. Scary reading. Not wishing to cause trouble or stir up a hornet's nest (esp. if something is in the pipeline or not yet added to the OS) but I have one particularly pertinent point:

What I don't understand is that if we're in such serious peril, why haven't the people that report to the press and purport to be committed to helping and saving Saints (celebrity fans like Craig David, esq.) not on the OS list for donating over 1 grand? To me, if no names appear on the list following interviews suggesting otherwise, I will have no choice but to assume they are hollow words & b*llsh*t (and nothing short of publicity stunts). I hope not and will reserve judgement.

As for the players, despite a large portion of the team being on relatively low wages (in modern, professional football monetary terms) and having recently stepped up from the youth team, many still earn very good money and profess to caring about the club and the football produced in Southampton FC. The older players earn more in a month or 2 than many of us earn in a year, yet we donate, turn up to watch p*ss poor football & cheer them on every week.

WHY, o WHY have the players not donated wages? (heard something about Kelvin doing something or forfeiting wages - can anyone confirm!?) They are one of the reasons we can't balance the books and why we are sat at the foot of the table. Whilst I don't hold that against them (they work, they get paid like the rest of us, deserving or not when you watch the games!) they profess to care about the club. Put your money where your mouth is - Surman, Wotton, Euell, Thomas, Skacel, Perry, Lallana, Saga, etc. I didn't see Lawrie's name on the list despite his continual sounding off to the fans. Hmmmm??!! Do his contribution evenings count? Maybe but personal donations would all help. Lowe, Wilde, Wiseman, Dennis, Channon, etc.

The players enjoy living here, socialising, being part of the community and picking up a good wage - do they really care that little that you can watch a club that supported you as an important part of your career wither and die? In some cases, I don't doubt they do. Stand up and be counted as part of our proud city of Southampton. If not, pick up your last pay cheque and fook off. I feel the modern game has lost the heart of football. Games like Charlton at home and Sheff Wed last week highlight that. The same as the dreaded game against the Skates when battling to stay up in the Premiership - if you can't perform and get motivated when competing to stay in the league (esp. against arch rivals), then you shouldn't be in the sport.

Saints ask for much from their fans despite little in return - it's time the other so called ambassadors of Southampton showed their worth. After all, we're constantly patronised by the players and ex pros and high profile fans spouting to the press - we're chuck money in the buckets, where are their names? That list looked damn small for a football club in a town of approx. quarter of a million people.

Sorry for the sanctamoius post but I find it rich that so many spout off to the press and have pots of money, yet seemingly do nothing.

Also, a figure to aim for - i.e. FINANCIAL TARGET TO SAVE THE CLUB would be a good idea and better incentive.

[disclaimer - if any of the mentioned wealthier people have donated a substantial amount, then I apologise and you should be on the list]

Why?

The Saints boardroom has been riven by division and dis-harmony for far too long now and Crouch has made his fair share of contribution towards it.

I firmly see him as part of the problem and not the solution to this clubs ills.

As for over-reacting and misleading statements, then I suggest you read some of his media proclamations over the past couple of years ( SCW, Investors due etc) and his repeated briefing for and against various sides and people through the media and/or others to further his agenda. I think I have read on another thread that only this week, he is passing his thoughts through Richard Chorley knowing they will find their way into the media. Many of these in my opinion are not helpful in the current climate especially as he now has nothing to do with running the club.

Notwithstanding the above, if he has done as you state in your final paragraphs ( and you are clearly close to him to know this information) then that is of course commendable - But he is not the only one acting for the good of the club and it does not necessarily make him a fit and proper person to be involved in the higher echelons of this club in the future.

All IMO of course !

Frank if you're not involved with a supporters group you should be and usurping whoever is running it. Secondly, and more preferably you need to become the club's director of communications. Does anyone know why the club can't elaborate more on their plea ' but more STILL needs to be done to ensure the club's future'. It's now in bold text what next larger more stylish fonts.

No one is listening at the club, which suggests only one thing to me. I had two pieces of junk mail this morning one for Alzheimers and one for Cancer Research should I split my donation to Saints between these two worthy causes. At least I won't be paying to support some footballers lavish lifestyle or worse throwing money at a cause that is without hope.

So they would have stuck £6m in and got what in return??? Maybe nothing, maybe some new shares increasing their stakes, I don't think it's ever been made clear just how the deal would pan out, so would be very interested to see the bit saying it will be a donation.

At the very least he would have maintained his 10%, whereas £2m now guarantees absolutely nothing in return!!

Cheap shot IMHO.

agree, there was no need for him to say it. Need to move on with new owners now.

Gordon I agree with you completely and you have to ask yourself why have the over £1k list anyway. So some with egos and agendas can point to how committed they are. Like you say we actually don't know if some famous and/or wealthy fans have already made donations but prefer not to go on the list and those individuals if they exist would have my total respect and reserve my suspicions to those who donate £1k and say 'will I be on the list'?

If the club gave us a total of how much they have collected to date we would be able to gage if that 1k list is indictive or not of the overall total. To my mind the club is still being run as if it was a going concern and not the soup kitchen it is turning into and they need to report charitable donations, targets, concerns etc or are they paying lip service to a process that can't save them? It doesn't make sense IMO and when people like you and I agree with a degree of rationality then I think the problems are beyond saving IMO.
