Saint Charlie Posted 21 April, 2009 Share Posted 21 April, 2009 Does anyone know if you can get Sky Sports 1, 2 and 3 through Virgin media? Currently I have Virgin which has SSN, Sky news etc but want to have Sky Sports. Seeing as I have all the cables etc already installed if i can then I will stick with VM. if not, I will join Sky. Cheers

Is that you don't with certain packages or you can't because they don't offer it?
saintwarwick Posted 21 April, 2009 Share Posted 21 April, 2009 Is that you don't with certain packages or you can't because they don't offer it? They don't offer it from what I can see. There are three packages and they are not listed on any of them.

Cheers Of course you can get all the Sky premiums on Virgin Media. They are just that, premium channels so you pay extra as you would on Sky. Premium channels that aren't included in the M, L or XL package include: Sky Sports 1-3 Sky Movies Disney Adult channels Zee/Asian premiums Go and look at the new Virgin Media homepage - check out VStuff which is awesome which you get as a VM customer. Just phone Customer Services and ask what you can get and how much - negotiate a deal/bundle.
Patrick Bateman Posted 21 April, 2009 Share Posted 21 April, 2009 Nope. Just sultana and Eurosport... http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=21 Click the "Want More?" tab to see the extra premiums you can get. V+ should be on that tab as well. Jesus, either people don't read the website properly, or I need to go speak to the TV Product guys to let them know it's not immediately obvious

Patrick Bateman Posted 21 April, 2009 Share Posted 21 April, 2009 I see. Not cheap though  It's actually comparable to getting the same through Sky. Neither service is cheap.

Saint Charlie Posted 21 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 21 April, 2009 Seems ok. Hopefully they will sort out a good deal. Can you get much in HD on Virgin ie Sky Sports?
Patrick Bateman Posted 21 April, 2009 Share Posted 21 April, 2009 Seems ok. Hopefully they will sort out a good deal. Can you get much in HD on Virgin ie Sky Sports? Sky Sports HD is not yet available on VM. But you do get BBC1 HD plus LOTS of VoD (video on demand) content (various movies, various TV shows). You just need a V+ box - which is better than Sky+ as it has 3 tuners (just one reason). This is a good summary - http://www.digital-scout.co.uk/virgin-media/virgin-media-v-plus-box/ (although installation of V+ is currently £49)
Tim Southampton Rover Posted 21 April, 2009 Share Posted 21 April, 2009 Sorry to briefly hijack but is Satanta actually worth it ?? I like Setanta. You get lots of football including England internationals, some great boxing matches as well as UFC. Also when I subscribed to Setanta, I got the likes of ESPN America which shows all the top American sports like NFL, MLB etc. I guess if you'd watch what they offer then it's worth it. If you wouldn't then I guess not. A tip for those who have subscribed to it. At the end of the football season, phone up to cancel and 99% of the time they'll offer you a reduced subscription fee for 6 months.

TNT Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 If you are in a VM digital area you might like to sign up to the basic package (£10 a month) and source a box called either eurovox or kyrptview. A little update with the software and you get all SKY films, Sky SPorts, Sentata et all
