Marsdinho Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Just got this email.... Nightingale Avenue Closure We have just received reports that an unexploded war time bomb has been found close to the shopping precinct in Nightingale Avenue and a 50m exclusion area has been put in place. This will obviously have an impact on the park and ride transport which will use the Leigh Road route to the site. It will also have an impact on traffic in the local area for the next few hours. Facilities

EastleighSoulBoy Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Really wouldn't be a shame if that went off................. And what about those of us who A. Grew up on the estate? B. Have elderly parents living almost close enough to be in that zone? You piece of useless humanity. I'll take the infraction thank you.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 21 April, 2009 Posted 21 April, 2009 Key word Well I'm not round there everyday with my pedometer checking the exact distance. So it was from recollection.

Happy childhood memories of jumping the river in Fleming Park too. It's changing a bit though, new houses in Magpie Road and Chestnut Avenue, Most of all though, I miss the banger racing on a Sunday.

The girlfriend turned to me earlier and said, 'it'll be ok, those bombs don't work any more'

Remember places like Falcon Square? With the grass in the middle of the houses and the alleys round the back of them? They're even building on the spare ground at the back of those alleys! There are 3 houses on the piece of ground which formed the cut between Linnet Square and the back of Falcon, used to be my route to the Cricks.
