Nexstar Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 imho pen taker should be decided during the warm up via game of 'killer' ie eavryone takes a pen, if they score they go to the end of the queue to take another, if they misss they are out, continue until last man standing. Added bonus of Banana Man getting practice in goal. Skip, Gaffer, thoughts? Brilliant, as i actually class penalties as one of my few strong points!
Edmonton Saint Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Brilliant, as i actually class penalties as one of my few strong points! Good Idea, Specially as I come from the LeTiss school of penalty taking !
hamster Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Brilliant, as i actually class penalties as one of my few strong points! Good Idea, Specially as I come from the LeTiss school of penalty taking ! Fancy making it a bit more interesting?
hamster Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Haha, go on... I can;t afford to be included but will hold the money (unless Baj fancies that role aswell, only joshing Baj). But those who really do fancy themselves all chip in a couple of quid (maybe a fiver), winner takes all. If A N Other wins you all agreee to chuck it behind the bar for the first round after the match?

Still waiting for the update email from Stevie Grant

Nexstar Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 At first i was like... But then i was like.... Despite my mood improving considerately, as shown in the pictures, i fail to see how i am a cartoon chicken? :smt064
hamster Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Soz Nexstar, I mis-read your post thinking you were backing out of the pen challenge. Is anyone planning on sharing a beer after the game though? Mrs hamster has asked if the WAGS have there own seating as well?
Saints Mad Si Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Mrs Saints Mad Si is coming down with junior and in laws, they are also asking for private hospitality!!!
Scudamore Posted 5 May, 2009 Posted 5 May, 2009 Right. Update on the programme. I'm tired. Can't be arsed to do it and have shelled out good money on nice paper tonight only to get done for being a little late on sorting out my MOT and insurance. Life's a c::nt sometimes... Anyway. I'll have to sort final layout out tomorrow. I am still waiting on the following names: - The Banana Factor - disintegration87 - stevegrant - bigdavewatson - fos1 - Saints Mad Si - The Flying Finn - MLT's Headed Goals Which isn't too bad i suppose. And i know at least one of those has sent the info on to stevegrant but he's being shy with the forwarding. I will be going to print shortly after five o'clock tomorrow. Those are the facts. Make of them what you will.
The9 Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 Heh, just don't use my list of honours. Well, maybe the one about the Rugby Cup Final.
Um Bongo Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 So which one of the home team came round mine last night and slashed a tyre? Never mind, i'll start walking now.
Griffo Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 I'm on freekicks, penalties and corners for the away team .
OldNick Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 I'm on freekicks, penalties and corners for the away team . That type of statement puts you immedialtely down the order. I will decide when I have seen and spoken to your teammates.
Griffo Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 That type of statement puts you immedialtely down the order. I will decide when I have seen and spoken to your teammates. I'm definately on free kicks. Trust me .
OldNick Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 I'm definately on free kicks. Trust me .That is highly privilaged info that will be decided in the dressing room. We need to have all our info in house and have complete surprise.Dubai Phil has been pawing through stats and old footage looking for chinks in our armour. No stone will be unturned by him to thwart our path to glory. Im am a tad worried as he keeps telling us he 'has a cunning plan'
Griffo Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 How could we decide? Have a little practise in the warm-up maybe?
OldNick Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 How could we decide? Have a little practise in the warm-up maybe? I assumed so, you'll be involved dont worry.

dubai_phil Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 Just heard the weather forecast for tomorrow. There's a deep depression heading towards the away team dressing room

Foxy Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 Soz Nexstar, I mis-read your post thinking you were backing out of the pen challenge. Is anyone planning on sharing a beer after the game though? Mrs hamster has asked if the WAGS have there own seating as well? Mrs F will be bringing the Teeny Terror plus some friends - dunno if she can bring the hangers on into the WAGs section? Anyhow, I am more than up for post-match beer - so much so that I have booked into a hotel in anticipationof missing the last train home
The9 Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 I'm definately on free kicks. Trust me . We shall see. You are welcome to corners though...

Scudamore Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 So you are not interested in me changing my programme notes and adding to it like Dubais version of War and Peace? That's nice easy copying and pasting...go for it! It's the others with there varying honours that just won't fit in that is slaying me! That and the complete lack of any sodding space with an A5 programme... Grrrr...

What post number was it again ? Just checked, #350. Edited 6 May, 2009 by The9 Cheekiness

Scudamore Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 Blimey, are there staples ? Will you miss kick off folding the sheets together ? There might have been if a long arm stapler didn't cost 30 quid in staples! No...just two bits of double sided A4 paper folded one inside t'other... How many do we think i should print in total?
forever a red and white Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 two for each particpant, one for them to keep and one to give to family, depends on what ever you can do yourself

How many do we think i should print in total? As it is a special souvenir edition i would have thought about 100. Some of the spectators might want them, you never know they might be on sale on E-bay tomorrow or friday. Lol
Nexstar Posted 6 May, 2009 Posted 6 May, 2009 Steve's email has arrived... Indeed I'll take a bottle of water for myself and may avoid the group shower with older men
